Volgens de gevraagde tijd wordt u opgehaald bij uw hotel in Aswan en rijdt u naar het zuiden van Aswan, wat ongeveer 3 uur rijden is om te genieten van de Abu Simbel-dagtour vanuit Aswan met een voertuig met airconditioning. De twee tempels van Abu Simbel worden met hun unieke stijl beschouwd als de meesterwerken van het oude Egypte. Ze weerspiegelen de glorie en grootsheid van het nieuwe koninkrijk. De Egyptische regering en UNESCO besloten samen te werken om deze tempels te redden van de overstroming. De Tempel van Ramses II was gewijd aan de vier universele goden Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re en aan Ramses II zelf. De grote tempel van Abu Simbel wordt ook wel de Zonnetempel van Ramses II genoemd. De tempel van koningin Nefertari wordt ook wel de Tempel van Hathor genoemd, die de vrouw was van de Zonnegod, dus op symbolische wijze zijn de twee tempels, die van Ramses II en die van Nefertari, breng Ramses II, Nefertari, Hathor en de Zonnegod samen als één. Breng daar ongeveer 3 uur door en neem dan de terugweg naar Aswan.

The guide was good and we were fortunate to enjoy Abu Simbel when it wasn't crowded, by leaving Aswan at 8am. My only complaint is that the transportation was in the back seat of a Hyundai Elantra, which was too cramped for two adults for six hours of driving.

We got picked up by our...
We got picked up by our guide Emat plus a driver. Sadly we almost missed us because we waited up on the street and they waited at a parking lot by the wrong ferry. They said they could not pick us up from the hotel directly because it would take to much time from Elephantine Island. Anyways we found eachother and startet an exciting day. Emat was very nice, knowledgeable and told us also a lot about the egyptian live nowadays. Also shared pix of his family. The car was clean and the driver safe and calm. Because we were so happy with Emat we book another tour on the next day. Sadly that one was not good at all and we where stunned about his negative behavior. Basado en otras opiniones, contratamos solo el conductor e hicimos el viaje saliendo a las 8, sin el madrugón de los grupos y sin tanta gente en la visita. Estuvimos 2 horas en la visita - aunque el conductor sugirió menos tiempo, fue fácil discutírselo. La agencia eficiente y confiable en las comunicaciones. El coche cómodo. Lo recomiendo.

Standing Ovation!
My most memorable experience was first sight of the massive statues of King Ramesses II. My family and I enjoyed the hieroglyphs. The tour guide Sarah was very friendly and informative. The sight was not crowded. I appreciated the 2 drivers Emo tours provided for this tour since this is a 3 hour drive great safety factor. Can in handy because there was major traffic on the way back to Aswan due to the President was in city so this made our ride longer.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!
The tour was excellent from the start. Maggie was full of knowledge and very engaging, and was happy to step back to allow us take all the time we wanted to enjoy the sites and take pictures (we never felt rushed). I highly recommend Viator and would always ask for her when we’re in Aswan as we had a great experience with her. Highly recommend.

We got the driver only option - great experience. Driver was professional and we could leave at 8am instead of 4am thankfully! Good value for money and definitely worth visiting Abu Simbel

Abu Simbel is a Must See
If you’re debating about trekking all the way to Abu Simbel, don’t hesitate, book it! This is so worth it. This was our last tour of our vacation and it was the perfect ending tour to our time in Egypt. Both our driver and tour guide were excellent - our tour guide, Nermien was so friendly, spoke perfectly English and was lovely! This is a must see if you’re planning your visit to Egypt!
