Volgens de gevraagde tijd wordt u opgehaald bij uw hotel in Aswan en rijdt u naar het zuiden van Aswan, wat ongeveer 3 uur rijden is om te genieten van de Abu Simbel-dagtour vanuit Aswan met een voertuig met airconditioning. De twee tempels van Abu Simbel worden met hun unieke stijl beschouwd als de meesterwerken van het oude Egypte. Ze weerspiegelen de glorie en grootsheid van het nieuwe koninkrijk. De Egyptische regering en UNESCO besloten samen te werken om deze tempels te redden van de overstroming. De Tempel van Ramses II was gewijd aan de vier universele goden Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re en aan Ramses II zelf. De grote tempel van Abu Simbel wordt ook wel de Zonnetempel van Ramses II genoemd. De tempel van koningin Nefertari wordt ook wel de Tempel van Hathor genoemd, die de vrouw was van de Zonnegod, dus op symbolische wijze zijn de twee tempels, die van Ramses II en die van Nefertari, breng Ramses II, Nefertari, Hathor en de Zonnegod samen als één. Breng daar ongeveer 3 uur door en neem dan de terugweg naar Aswan.

Great trip! Our driver was very polite and friendly and we really enjoyed the ride. We departed around 7am and arrived around 10:30 and there was literally no one there but us! Amazing sightseeing and organized tour.

Emo Tour's organization of this trip was poor - despite earlier agreement to be picked at the cruise ship lobby, we were told to meet the driver by the roadside by sending a GPS pin. 4:30am in the morning, in a foreign unfamiliar town, waiting by the roadside for a stranger that Emo Tour could not provide name for, is not a pleasant experience especially when the driver is 15 mins late! The driver could just barely speak English, and there was no private guide with him. "Meet at Abu Simbel" was all the driver could tell me when I asked about the guide, with a shrug of "beyond my pay grade". Thankfully, the driver was competent and safely took us there and back, talking on the cell phone on multiple occasions notwithstanding. The "Private Guide" part of this trip is a scam - it entailed meeting someone at Abu Simbel, who spent less than 5 mins in front of the monument reading a spiel that I could have just read from Wiki, and then dispatching us to the monument, so he could "guide" another group - rinse and repeat at the smaller temple. Definitely not worth the money paid, and most definitely, I do not consider this portion "guiding". Left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, but luckily Abu Simbel Temple-Monument was worth the effort to be there!

We where pickedup in a spacious airconditioned van. The two drivers did a good job and brought us safe to our destination and back. The guide awaited us at the site. He explained everything well and we had plenty of time for photos. The tour started at 7:00 and we where back at 16:00. No hassle, no shopping. Thank you!!!

The driver arrived on time on a very comfy vehicle. We picked up the guide on our way to Abu Simbel and he gave us all the explanations using pictures about the temples and this was a great time saver as we could enjoy the visit with all the knowledge gathered. The lunch was correct. I would recommend this tour.

Abu Simbel is a must see while in Egypt. Our driver was friendly though didn’t speak English well. He picked us up from the hotel lobby and brought us back at night. The drive however is very long, around 3.5 hours each way. Overall it was a ten hour day, so be prepared! For us, the private service was the best option as we were able to choose our pick up time which enabled more flexibility than the group tours (which leave at 5am). The tour “guide” at Abu Simbel didn’t offer much value, he provided some information (his English was not great) then left us to explore the temple on our own (though was trying to rush us as clearly he wanted to leave earlier- we were his last tour of the day).

Abu Simbel is really an amazing place to see. Our driver and guide were lovely. Our guide did an amazing job describing the site and also how it was saved from the reservoir flood. It’s a long hot day, but definitely worth going. We opted for the lunch and the restaurant our guide took us to was fantastic. Grilled fish was of the best meals we had as it was fresh from the area. Highly recommend!

Excellent service. The operator was easily reachable. The driver was very polite and the ride was good, clean in condition and most of all very cool. Left fr the boat jetty at 6am and arrived around 9.30am. With one stop at the roadside cafe. Upon arrival, was dropped near the entrance. And the driver instructed us where he will wait. Tq Emo Tours Egypt for this service. And to Tripadvisor too.
