Amazing day trip to Cairo!

We were picked up from our hotel by a small mini van at 12:30am, which then dropped us off at a meeting point. We boarded onto a coach, which had a toilet (no tissue paper or hand soap be warned!) but air con was working perfectly, with some rude passengers who had their seats all the way down, however, the driver soon resolved this for us. Be prepared for a long and arduous journey, with a packed coach full of passengers. The journey took 8 hours there, with several check points and only one break midway, but took slightly longer returning back (9 hours). We were separated into our own tour groups based on language where we were greeted by a fantastic tour guide who accompanied us the whole day (from 10am-6pm). The museum was spectacular (but hot) be prepared to only spend around 1.5-2 hours inside, as it is a large extensive place. We then chose to book a river Nile boat tour at an extra cost, which lasted around 20 minutes. Lunch was included at a restaurant which was average. We then visited the pyramids and the sphinx which was the highlight! I would suggest to bring snacks throughout the day, toilet paper and hand soap and to book this tour for a Friday (like we did) where there is far less traffic and congestion!

Sharm El sheik - Cairo in bus

Amazing but long trip

A great trip. Everything smoothly and on time. Great guide named Sarwad (I think). Everything except the trip on the Nile is paid. A very good dinner. The only drawback is a very long and tiring journey that lasted nearly 10 hours one way and over 11 hours the other way. But it's worth it to endure so much! I definitely recommend it! This trip was the best day of our visit to Egypt.

It was painfully disappointing experience, the best bits was seeing the museum and the pyramids which we paid for twice

We were on time to get the bus, got to the coach, the people on the bus didn’t want to make space. They had their bags on the seats, pillows on their seats and didn’t want to sit next to their friends and family. The guide that was making sure we had our visa wasn’t professional, he didn’t speak English rarely to us. He explained in Arabic what was happening to the group but what about the English people you offered an English guide for. He didn’t ensure the seats were available for the additional guests, The journey was supposed to be 8-9 hours which ended up being 11/12 hours. The stop offs were supposed to be 20mins but again ended up being 45minutes there waiting for rest room break and cigarette breaks. During the bus journey we had no seatbelts and the chairs where loose. This was a big health and safety concern for me and my children. When the bus pressed the brakes the seats slid forward with us in them. These are the seats at the very back of the bus. I have video evidence of this. The seat could be picked up if I wanted to. We first got to the museums has far as I am aware we already paid for everything the only thing that need to be paid for was the Nile river boat ride and that too was not up to standards. We were constantly waiting around and the guide seem like he was having a heated discussion with the boat drivers. The lunch was atrocious and we didn’t eat from being picked up at 00:00 and then having lunch at 13:00. We had to o serve ourselves and the flies where just hovering around the food which wasn’t very hygienic. We paid for the entrance into the museums, we paid for additional services which we wasn’t informed about. I feel as if this is a scam tourists. We basically paid for a bus ride with racist travellers and the guide on the bus couldn’t speak English or chose not to maybe due to racism. We were on the bus and the guide who counts and makes sure everyone is on the bus. Didn’t explain what was happening why we stopped. It is 3 am and the driver is unaware about his drop off points. We now ended up stopping at the wrong hotels on the way back for no reason as this is unprofessional people trying to run a business.
