We had an excellent day tour with Marlene, learning a lot about ancient Egypt in just a few hours. Our driver Ahmad was also very polite & accommodating.

We did a one day trip to Luxor and our guide Salwa was amazing and made our trip memorable. She went above and beyond and spent a little more than 10 hours showing us the city since we had a late flight back to Cairo. She was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had in detail. She didn’t rush us or force us to buy things. She was respectful of what we wanted to. Would highly recommend this tour and a tip - ask the tour company to give you a guide from a list of good guides based on other people’s reviews. That’s what I did and it made our trip great!

Salwa was our guide and she was amazing! She is friendly and a very knowledgeable Egyptologist. Her English was great. She did offer to take us to some touristy shops, but was very respectful when we declined. Also all the destinations were amazing. This tour gives you a bang for your buck.

The itinerary was as mentioned. However, they will bring you to a papyrus gallery and an alabaster souvenir shop to make you feel obligated to purchase their items at a marked-up price. Lunch was also charged at a "tourist price".

Really disappointing experience, after the most wonderful tour in Cairo, we felt the tour guide was not really in the mood. He told us facts, no story telling. Then said I’ll leave you to walk around! (If I wanted to walk around and not understand what I was looking at I wouldn’t have paid £150 to your company) We later found out he had stopped smoking and was not in a good mood! Kept walking off we couldn’t even ask him questions, just wanted to get the tour over and done with. After raising it with the tour agent they said we received the full guide. We did but to a level I would call satisfactory . They don’t issue a partial refund. Make sure your tour guide isn’t one that has cut smoking is my advise!!!

Salwa, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. I appreciate the sheer amount of information she shared about Egypt and while it will be a challenge to remember most of it in even a week, I feel like she provided an excellent foundation and context for Egyption history and culture. Our driver, on the other hand, while nice (though he didn't say a word to us), did not drive particularly safely or carefully which is odd considering there is barely any traffic in Luxor. Emo Tours can improve in terms of communication but at the end, it's about the guide, not the company.
