A great overview of the early pyramid builders .

Mohammed was a great tour guide taking us to the Red pyramid first- we were not quite the first to go inside but we were the only people inside the pyramid which made for an incredible experience. Our guide took photos for us and gave us a great insight into the history of the early attempts at building pyramids. We had a delicious lunch at a restaurant overlooking the pyramids at Giza which topped off a fantastic tour.

Day tour of Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur

This was a very organised tour with a knowledgeable guide Ali. There were only two if us on the tour so we travelled between sites in a very nice car with Muhammed. Any one planning on going inside the Red Pyramid might want to consider going down the steep narrow shaft backwards - much better than forwards, particularly if you are tall or prone to claustrophobia. Saqqara is particularly impressive as there are so many tombs and it is an active archaeological site.

Perfect pyramid experience

Amany, our tour guide was super professional and made our trip entertaining with stories about Saqqara site. We personally like the Dashkour site - the red and bent pyramids as they are mostly free of any tourists and let you enjoy the magnificence of the pyramids by yourself. We could have used more stories about the Red and Bent pyramids, but we got enough “me” time with the pyramids that made up for it. Memphis was a waste of time as there is only the Ramses statue - which while being a Magnificent specimen, just does not hit home because the rest of the Ramses artefacts are in different places. We could have easily saved 30-40 minutes in the day. But overall , a visit to Saqqara and Dashkour is highly recommended and engage Amany from Gem Tours while you are at it!

Perfect Pyramid Experience

Amany, our tour guide provided us a fantastic experience across Saqqara, Daskour and Memphis. The highlight was the red pyramid and the bent pyramid. The crowds are very very little and you can experience the pyramids by yourself and admire their magnificence. Amany engaged us in with stories at the Saqqara site and made it super engaging and entertaining. We could have used some more stories about the Red and Bent pyramid, but we got enough photos to not feel to bad about it. Memphis open air museum could have been skipped - the only noteworthy think being the Ramses statue.

An evening full of historical enlightenment!!!

My guide Wael was a qualified Egyptologist that answered ALL of my questions. The breadth and depth of his knowledge is beyond remarkable!!! I highly recommend him for anyone who has historical curiosity about ancient Egypt. Our driver Mohammed drove us around the area utilising short cuts to reduce the time spent on the road. Make sure to request him if you can.

Awesome private tour of early pyramids

Very informative and enjoyable private tour of Memphis, Dahshur and Saqqara. You get to see and learn about the very first step pyramid, see trial and error of bent pyramid and the first perfect one. You also get to see some tombs, have a great lunch overlooking Giza pyramids and learn about papyrus and perfume making (from local shops, but no pressure to buy, which we appreciated). Ali is a great tour guide - knowledgeable, patient and friendly. He made us feel comfortable from the very beginning and answered all of our (many) questions. The only tip is to book for an earlier pickup time despite the website offering later ones to ensure you have enough time to explore everything.

Exceptional Private Tour to Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis

Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis tour by Gem Explorers is by far the best guided tour we have taken in Egypt this far. We were greeted in the morning promptly on time, the car that came to pick us up was clean, had bottled water and looked brand new. The driver Mohammed is excellent and drove very peacefully and safely on the roads making the drive very pleasant. The best part was undoubtedly Wael who was our Egyptologist guide, he is extremely soft spoken and very knowledgeable. He was kind enough to explain everything in detail even if it meant repeating a few times. He did not rush us anywhere, he helped us take nice pictures, did not ask us to buy anything and overall we felt safe, happy and more than satisfied as the tour ended in a high note with a fantastic lunch organised at the Pyramids Oasis restaurant. If you are looking to take a tour in Cairo and Giza- look no further as I would book Gem explores and Wael again without a second thought!!!

Wonderful private day tour

We joined Private Day Tour Saqqara Pyramids, Memphis and Dahshur Pyramids and had a wonderful day with our friendly guide, Salma. She and the driver were flexible with our requests and even though we got back late and she was kind to us until the end and made our trip a good one. Thank you for both. We would recommend the tour!!

Wonderful day of pyramids!

Honestly the whole time was great. All 3 pyramids were cool! Enjoyed the day from beginning to end! I highly recommend Wael, my guide! The only thing I didn’t like was that there was a bit of sales pressure in the Giza stores. I know it’s Egypt so this is a bit normal.

Best day ever!

We had the absolute best day ever. Our guide Mohamed Arafa was outstanding. Not only was he an archeologist so was able to give us so much information on how the archaeological and excavation process works, but he was so passionate and knowledgeable and was wanting to share it with us. He also helped with telling us about local culture and customs. We have been on many tours before- but this one was an absolute standout for us. The sites we saw were amazing and the lunch was excellent. Can’t recommend this tour and our wonderful guide highly enough.
