Ce que vous verrez

  1. Abu Simbel Temple

A fun family experience!

We took the Abu Simbel tour with Emad and it was very informative. Tour guides can not go inside with you but Emad gave us a ton of information while we were driving to the site. His English was perfect so we knew exactly what we were looking at once we were inside the temple. I had two teen boys with me and they both thought he was very knowledgeable. The ride is long but comfortable.

Worth the Drive but get a good car

We paid for 3 adults and a child. But vehicle was not suitable for seating so many people. Leg space at back was cramped. Our guide tried to accommodate and help in other ways as changing vehicle was not an option.

Arrange tour with hotel, Not worth the money!

Abu Simbel was great to see! This tour however was way too overpriced, and we felt very rushed! Our tour guide did not speak very good English, could barely understand what she was trying to say. After being there for 45 minutes, She told us that she had another tour coming and that the taxi driver was going to take us to get lunch and then back to our hotel. This tour was supposed to be all day- 10 hours, and in reality it was only 7. We spoke to our hotel owner- who spoke perfect English— and he said that we could have done this cheaper on our own by arranging it with them.

A day in Abu Simbel

Driving to and from Abu Simbel, in a clean car, with courtesy. I got the time I needed in Abu Simbel, and I didn't feel rush.

Day trip to Abu Simbel - would not recommend this tour.

We went to Abu Simbel on December 13, 2022 with an English speaking tour guide. There are a few of reasons we wouldn't recommend going with this tour company: 1) Our guide spoke remedial English at best. She was very nice, but was clearly not qualified to lead a tour or explain any sort of material in English. This reality was made even more apparent when we were outside the temples and could hear other guides speaking flawless English. Was definitely a loss on our end to not have what we were seeing well explained 2) The guide continually pushed other expeditions/tours on us (to Phiale temple to Kom Ombo to Edfu etc) despite being told we weren't interested multiple times. I understand this is some what par for the course in Egypt, but it felt kind of extreme. 3) The guide/tour was unprofessional. The bus picked us up from the hotel, and then we had to make another detour for the guide (minor, but usually the tour picks you up ready to go). We had water included in our trip - but the guide disputed this until we showed her our reservation confirmation. They then offered us already opened water bottles in their cooler (which we refused for obvious reasons - we ended up buying water ourselves from a rest stop). She later offered us juice in place of the water - and then asked us to pay for it at the end of the trip (despite offering it to us as a replacement for what we paid for...). The guide went so far to "suggest" us a tip amount that we "should" provide for the trip we were on while we were still at Abu Simbel. It just felt very amateur and was frankly unpleasant. With that being said, Abu Simbel is incredible - would definitely recommend it, but would suggest going with a different company.

A very good experience at a good price

Even though it was a lot of driving for so few hours on the site I would definitely recommend visiting Abu Simbel as a day trip only because there is basically nothing else to do in the area. Makbola was our guide and we found her to be pleasant, very organized and professional. She has done this for along time and was able to anticipate most of our questions. She shared a lot of of information about Egypt in general that was not related to Abu Simbel in particular which contributed to our greater understanding of the country. We did not feel at all rushed which we very appreciated as we tend to take to take more time studying sites than average tourists.

A really dreadful disappointment

We (the clients) were told by Viator to meet the driver and guide at one place; but the driver and guide were told to meet us at another place. We wasted time and $40! So, I suggest that a refund from Viator ( who sent the wrong message in the first place) would be appropriate. The driver was fine. The guide seemed tired and disinterested. Took personal calls while with us. Gave us no more insight to our tour than we had already picked up from guide books. A serious waste of $US220

An enjoyable day out

A quick review of Samir Gaber who was my guide to Abu Simbel. I thought he explained things well, better than most guides, and his addition of a map of the temples was very useful. The information Samir provided was more than the usual 15 minutes of the site, he must have gone through things for a least 1.5 hours. Thanks Samir. Overall I would recommend a guide.

Road trip to Abu Simbel temples

Really good driver. Gave us plenty of time to see Abu Simbel, which was incredible . Enjoyable experience, would recommend.
