The Qasr el Nil Bridge (originally named Khedive Ismail Bridge, Egyptian Arabic: Asr el Nil Bridge), is a historic swing bridge structure dating from 1931 which replaced the first bridge to span the Nile River in central Cairo, Egypt.[2] It connects Tahrir Square in Downtown Cairo on the east bank of the river, to the southern end of Gezira/Zamalek Island. At the bridge's east and west approaches are four large bronze lion statues; they are late 19th-century works by Henri Alfred Jacquemart, a French sculptor and animalier.

The 6th October Bridge (Arabic: كوبري 6 أكتوبر, Kubri 6(sadis) uktubar) is an elevated highway in central Cairo, Egypt. The 20.5-kilometre (12.7 mi) bridge and causeway crosses the Nile twice from the west bank suburbs, east through Gezira Island to Downtown Cairo, and on to connect the city to other highways that lead to the Cairo International Airport to the east. Its name commemorates the date of 'The Crossing', which commenced the outbreak day of the Yom Kippur War in 1973.

Zamalek (Arabic: الزمالك pronounced [ez.zæˈmæːlek], al zamalek) is a qism (ward) within the West District (hayy gharb) in the Western Area of Cairo, Egypt.[1] It is an affluent man-made island that geologically is part of the west bank of the Nile River, with the bahr al-a'ma (Blind Canal) cut during the second half of the 19th Century to separate it from the west bank proper.[2] The northern third has been developed into a residential area, which was home to 14,946 people during the 2017 census.[3] The southern two-thirds are mostly sports grounds and public gardens, a stark green reserve in the middle of Cairo. The island is connected with the river banks by four bridges: the Qasr El Nil Bridge, the Galaa Bridge, the 15 May Bridge, and the 6th October Bridge.

The opera house was inaugurated on 10 October 1988. The funds for the complex were a gift from the nation of Japan to Egypt as a result of President Hosni Mubarak's visit to Japan in April 1983. Construction began in May 1985 and lasted for three years.[1] In October 1988, President Mubarak and Prince Tomohito of Mikasa, the younger brother of the Japanese Emperor, inaugurated the National Cultural Centre Cairo Opera House. It was the first time for Japan to stage a Kabuki show, a traditional popular drama with singing and dancing, in Africa or the Arab World.

The idea of establishing Al Ahly came in the first 10 years of the 20th century and was first raised by Omar Lotfy who was a student in the Egyptian Law School during his presidency of the High School Students Club, which was established in 1905. The establishment of a club for high school students was for political reasons, and the students needed a sports club to gather them for leisure and exercise.

Excellent Sunset Nile cruise experience, would highly recommend

Booked this sunset nile cruise through Viator & was a big success. Unfortunately a sandstorm meant it got postponed 24hrs but we were glad as winds were high & visibility was very poor. The local Egyptian boat co rearranged everything but we could only get a slot at 8pm which was disappointing as it meant we'd miss the 6.20pm sunset but appreciated the reason why. I asked if they'd let us know if any cancellations on the 5 or 6pm cruises & they WhatsAppd me on the day to say we could go at 5pm instead. Extremely pleased & the communication throughout was excellent as was their understanding of English. We caught a taxi to the Seagull restaurant docking area & very pleasantly surprised by how lovely the boat was. The seating was extremely comfortable & tasteful decor. We hadnt opted for food but had 2 Cappucinos which were free. Many others had ordered an Egyptian meal & it looked to be of a very high standard & generous portions. The serving staff were great & also brought us fleece blankets when asked. The band were 2 men playing drums & saxophone to recorded Egyptian songs & they were excellent. We sailed for 2hrs and really enjoyed the whole experience. I'd definitely recommend & it was an excellent way to spend our last night after a week sightseeing in Cairo.

Great Atmosphere, Delicious Food

We booked a 9pm boat cruise on the Nile and had such a relaxing evening. There was a lively group party on the lower deck, which actually made the experience even more enjoyable—with live music, locals dancing, and a great atmosphere. We had also opted for dinner. There was a small issue at first, but as soon as we contacted the company, it was resolved within minutes. To our surprise, our food was delivered by speedboat—something we definitely weren’t expecting! The meal itself was absolutely delicious. I was genuinely impressed by how far the team went to make sure we received exactly what we had booked. Excellent service and a memorable experience overall. Highly recommended!

Mixed Feelings! Would go again for the food!

Food: Great taste and excellent portion size. Hospitality: Top notch Taxi pick up: Great ride! However, he came too early and I rushed out of my hotel, only to wait for over an hour before we could leave on the boat. Cons: Lack of proper direction. The boat just kept moving and I didn’t know what the stopping points were. Also, pour consideration of tourists when it rains. I acknowledge that they could provide blankets, but I can’t stop wondering what could happen if it rains and pours. It did rain a bit, but thank God it was only a bit!

Excellent cruise

Great cruise with amazing live entertainment. The atmosphere was fantastic and the performances really added to the experience. Just make sure to bring a vest or jacket, as it can get quite chilly on the boat.
