The Citadel of Cairo or Citadel of Saladin (Arabic: قلعة صلاح الدين Qalaʿat Salāḥ ad-Dīn) is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, built by Salah ad-Din (Saladin) and further developed by subsequent Egyptian rulers. It was the seat of government in Egypt and the residence of its rulers for nearly 700 years from the 13th to the 19th centuries. Its location on a promontory of the Mokattam hills near the center of Cairo commands a strategic position overlooking the city and dominating its skyline. At the time of its construction, it was among the most impressive and ambitious military fortification projects of its time. It is now a preserved historic site, including mosques and museums.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. Built in 1901 by the Italian construction company Garozzo-Zaffarani to a design by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the edifice is one of the largest museums in the region. As of March 2019, the museum is open to the public. In 2020 the museum is due to be superseded by the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.

A fantastic day. Essam our guide was so knowledgeable. The history we learnt today was priceless. He was extremely accommodating. Making sure we had water and even lunch despite us not booking lunch with our tour. He ensured we experienced way more than what we booked our tour to be.

What an amazing experience I had on this tour with my tour guide Ehab hoba and my driver Abdullah. I highly recommend this tour especially with these two guys. I was picked up on time from my hotel and was driven from stop to stop with ease. Ehab is a great guide and a photographer lol his great sense of humor made it very enjoyable for me. The lunch buffet we had was so delicious and fulfilling. The tours especially to the museum was very interesting. I appreciate the two guys on this tour because they helped me with also getting a sim card for my phone and as a solo traveler day 1 in Egypt it was great to have that help

We booked the Cairo City Tour which included the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, and Khan Kkalili market. Our drivers name was Khaled and he was so nice and cool to be around. I will call out that this particular tour was somewhat self guided, but Khaled brought us to each of the locations and shared with us the things of relevance and importance. The information and instructions he provided were very straightforward and they allowed us to have a good time, being sure to not miss any of the highlights at each of the locations. It is important to know that the price of admission at the locations was not included but tickets for each were pretty inexpensive. Overall, we enjoyed our time with Khaled as he was very hospitable and easy to talk with. He was very punctual with pickups and drop offs and was really eager to help us have a good time. He was open to answering any and all questions and again, we did enjoy our time with him. Thanks for the great service and experience Khaled!!

Essam was a fantastic, adaptable, and knowledgeable guide and Monaam was an excellent driver. We moved expertly about the city and I had access to all the information I could hope for. It was a beautiful experience and I would gladly repeat it.

Had an awesome experience with Mamdouh Kamal our tour guide and the driver yassine... Mamdouh went above and beyond our expectations... A very knowledgable person who made sure that we understood each and every part of history associated with the places we visited... Would definitely recommend this duo for any of your egypt tours!!! PS: He was kind enough to recommend the coptic tour which was really a pleasant experience...

The tour was excellent! Loved seeing the museum and Coptic city. The museum had so many artifacts, just incredible! Our guide Mohamed Salah was the best guide in town! He is very knowledgeable and speaks very good English. We were safely transported around town. Highly recommend this tour.
