Absolutely great day with Ahmed at Abu Simbel
We had a memorable day with our tour guide Ahmed Eid at Abu Simbel. Ahmed is a great tour guide, highly knowledgeable on ancient egyptian history. He explained everything very well in very good English. We had a fun road trip to and back, Ahmed was considerate and gave us time to relax, take photos and an hour to ourselves to spend time at the temples. We really enjoyed our trip, thank you so much Ahmed. We highly recommend this tour and Ahmed as a guide!!

Ok for the journey but Minimum Service if you do not go to the spice market as strongly advised by the agency manager

Super expérience
Ahmad de Assouan était un super chauffeur. Très professionnel et très amical. Le trajet en sa compagnie jusqu’à Abu Simbel fut un vrai plaisir.
Il était à l’heure et a pu dépasser toutes les cars de touristes sur la route afin de me permettre d’être le premier à Abu Simbel. Expérience incroyable que d’être seul dans les temples pendant plusieurs minutes!
Je recommande cette compagnie et Ahmad.

Memorable Experience
Mustafa our guide was amazing!! He was very knowledgeable. He even drew us a detailed map of Abu Simbel that told us what the inscriptions meant. The driver was very nice. He drove safely and got us to the temple before all other tourists got there. So we got photos with no one in them!

Good experience
We booked a driver only to Abu simbel with a pick up of 8am. The journey was about 3.5 hrs each way with one toilet stop about mid way on each journey at a tourist service station where you could buy limited food. There is a small toilet charge. We spent about an hour and half at Abu simbel before going back.
We were provided with a small water and a packet of crisps each.
We were staying in Aswan on one of the islands near the city and therefore the tour wasn't able to pick us up from our hotel directly and picked us up from the port instead. It was a little difficult establishing which port they would pick us up from so explain where you are staying and question your pick up location well before the day of the tour.
We thought the tour (and then tips on top) was fairly pricey all together for what was provided but the journey was comfortable, car clean and experience stress free. Would recommend.

Easy and comfortable day trip from Aswan
The temples at Abu Simbel are great, but be warned there's not a lot to see inside, it's mainly just that outdoor shot you're going to see. Still worth it. Our package was just the driver, he was punctual, helpful, and patient. Car was clean like new. Great experience. It took us about 3 hours each way, so even though we left at 7 a.m., we were back well in time for the overnight train back to Cairo.

Beware of what you purchase and what is actually offered with tour packages.
We paid for a private tour with guide, transportation, entrance tickets and lunch. Because of the last minute booking, we were told that we would have to ride in a shared van, which we agreed. We were not told that we would not receive the guide, the entrance tickets or lunch. We had to pay separately for all of those after we had paid for this package through Viator. We requested for a refund from Viator after the local tour company refused to offer any assistance. Viator also denied even a partial refund. We felt that we were robbed since paying twice for the same tour package. We are completely disappointed in the lack of support from Viator and will not use their services anymore in the future; which is a shame because we have used Viator in the past and had a good experience. This however, has changed our opinion of Viator's regard for their customers and will cost them 4 clients from us. Signed, very unhappy travelers.

Great tour
We had a great time. Our driver picked us up at 7 in Aswan and we were back at 3 p.m.. Our guide told us some informations about abu simbel and he spoke really good german.

The journey was good except the car had too much smell of fragrances. It could be because the driver smokes. He is a good driver and smoking is very common in Egypt which we didn't know before visiting
