Entry ticket a con for Saqqara
So after a guided tour the previous day to the Giza pyramids, museum, and stop off at papyrus place, perfume and gift shop we decided to just book a driver to see Memphis, Dahshur and Sakkara and do it ourselves. Mohamed was an excellent safe driver and my rating is not for him as he was excellent and all was good until Sakkara. The tickets listed outside mention several tombs but was told all inclusive was for everything 900 - so were extremely disappointed when entering the pyramid to be told our tickets didn’t include that it was an additional charge of 440 for the 2 of us to go inside. We’d come this far and in the grand scheme of things just decided to pay the additional however were told they would not accept cash and we needed to get a ticket which was back at the beginning best part of a 20 minute walk- which when it was 33 degree heat something we were not prepared to do. I found it totally ironic that they accept any currency in Egypt even beg for money in the toilet so you can get a piece of toilet tissue and yet won’t accept cash to see inside the pyramid- or have tickets based at the entrance- no pricing is transparent and it’s all a con. A real shame as the driver was excellent so please ensure you get the correct ticket and don’t get caught out.
These pyramids are nicer than the commercial Giza ones, where it’s just like a market and you are constantly bonbarded with requests for camel or horse rides on these very poor and sad looking animals- it’s Egypt way of life I was just a little shocked to see it all.

Think twice before booking. Spend the extra $$ for other tours
At first, the trip was going well. Don’t get me wrong, you’re paying for a $40 dollar tour so you’ll get what you paid for. However, things started getting weird when her “card didn’t work” and asked us for payment method. Even tho, the post of the tour states the admission fees were already taken care at booking. It’s very uncomfortable handing over a card to the tour guide then standing in line with her…. Like, I could’ve just did it myself. So I decided to read the reviews of this tour while I was on the tour (which I should’ve done beforehand.) YES she took us to a carpet making class to see little homeless kids make carpets and then be hustled to sales pitch with a “free drink” and a sales guy that doesn’t understand NO we are on a tour for Pyramids. Also, the tour guide didn’t even explain anything new, just read off the signs, she kept repeating the same things over and over again. She was becoming more and more annoyed. “I told you already.” Lastly, we had to make a pit stop to get her a minutes cards for her phone. All very unprofessional. But again, it’s a $40 dollar tour. ALSO, TAKE SMALL BILLS EVERYWHERE YOU GO. Do not trust anyone.

Thank you Muhammad
A good half-day trip. Muhammad, the tour guide, explained everything in details, and he was willing to exchange ideas with me on many questions. A good experience!

Great experience with a nice lunch at the end
Mahmoud our tour guide was very nice and took good care of us. The driver was very careful and we felt very safe too. Mahmoud explained everything nicely and gave us time to explore on our own too. We then went to a lovely local restaurant that had great food. Our friends who bought the same tour didn't have the same experience and were taken to another restaurant that wasn't very good. We asked the guides to take us in the restaurant but that didn't happen. That was disappointing...

Average tour, average tour guide, average lunch
We visited Sakkara, Memphis open air museum and Dahshur as promised. Unfortunately we have been separated from our hotel friends with whom we have booked this tour and despite the negotiations that at least have the lunch together, it has not happened. The lunch was average and we had to pay for the water at the restaurant. It was good that we were able to skip the carpet factory. We were not able to enter the Sakkara step pyramid as it was not included in the price despite it was said that all entrance tickets are included. Jasmine, our tour guide, gave a short description on every sites, but when we asked her any additional questions then she mostly repeated what she said before.

Buena experiencia
Buena experiencia.

De rondleiding was geweldig. Salwa is een ongelooflijke gids. . . zo goed met de kinderen en zo gepassioneerd.
Grote waarde. . . In totaal 9 personen.
Adel is een zeer betrouwbare, veilige chauffeur en betrouwbaar. We zullen ze opnieuw gebruiken.
