Very nice experience. Mariam was very professional and accommodating. She was very knowledgeable and thorough. She was able to answer all of our questions. Definitely worth the trip to Upper Egypt!

Volgens de gevraagde tijd wordt u opgehaald bij uw hotel in Aswan en rijdt u naar het zuiden van Aswan, wat ongeveer 3 uur rijden is om te genieten van de Abu Simbel-dagtour vanuit Aswan met een voertuig met airconditioning. De twee tempels van Abu Simbel worden met hun unieke stijl beschouwd als de meesterwerken van het oude Egypte. Ze weerspiegelen de glorie en grootsheid van het nieuwe koninkrijk. De Egyptische regering en UNESCO besloten samen te werken om deze tempels te redden van de overstroming. De Tempel van Ramses II was gewijd aan de vier universele goden Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re en aan Ramses II zelf. De grote tempel van Abu Simbel wordt ook wel de Zonnetempel van Ramses II genoemd. De tempel van koningin Nefertari wordt ook wel de Tempel van Hathor genoemd, die de vrouw was van de Zonnegod, dus op symbolische wijze zijn de twee tempels, die van Ramses II en die van Nefertari, breng Ramses II, Nefertari, Hathor en de Zonnegod samen als één. Breng daar ongeveer 3 uur door en neem dan de terugweg naar Aswan.

Driving was long, 3...
Driving was long, 3 hours, but the Abu Simble's grand ancient construction was awesome to see. Guide was enthusiastic in his explanation.

Lacklustre experience
The organisation of the driver was great, the car was air conditioned and the journey was quick. The tour guide part however, was a bit lacklustre. We booked a private tour, which ended up not being private as we were grouped with other people and the guide was also doing the tour at the same time with at least 2 other groups that we saw, and it was supposed to be a lot longer than it was. What we learnt was interesting, but only took perhaps 1.5 hours at best, and that is with 50 minutes of free time to roam the temples on our own. It was our bad for booking over Ramadan/Eid and we completely acknowledge that, especially since apparently there were only 3 English guides available for hundreds of people, however, we paid the money for a certain level of experience and it was not delivered. Perhaps the tour operators could have let us know that this would have been the case, then we would have had different views of this experience

Nul. Acheter un bon guide en papier (Routard, Guide Michelin Vert...) et vous aurez plus d'infos de meilleure qualité.
Guide inutile : il nous donnait des informations succinctes (pas plus de 5 minutes d'échanges au lieu des 2 heures payées), basiques (dimension du lac Nasser, nombre de statues extérieures > comme si on ne le voyait pas...). A peine terminé avec son speech de base, il courait déjà pour rejoindre un autre groupe. Bref, prenez un guide papier et vous aurez plus d'informations pertinentes pour vous plonger dans l'histoire égyptienne.

Good choice!
Everything went as planned. From the reservation to pick off at the hotel. It was very easy to contact the company by email when needed and they answered everytime. Our flight was 1 h late and the driver patiently waited. He didn’t speak a lot of English but enough to communicate when needed. He was nice,polite and drove carefully. He gave us 1,5h to visit the temples which we thought it was enough for the sight.

Abu Simbel Tagestour mit EMO Tours
Im Rahmen einer Ägypten Rundreise haben wir einen Tagesausflug von Aswan nach Abu Simbel mit EMO Tours unternommen. Wir hatten eine private Tour, die individuell auf uns angepasst wurde - Abholung am Flughafen und nach der Besichtigung Transfer zum Hotel in Aswan. Alles hat wunderbar funktioniert - sehr gutes, klimatisiertes Fahrzeug mit einem guten Fahrer - gute Reiseführung in Abu Simbel. EMO Tours hat das alles sehr gut organisiert.

Efficient but maybe pass on the guide
Our packaged Egypt tour offered an Abu Simbel tour but we opted for this private tour because it was half the price. The private car was definitely faster than a large tourist bus. Our guide was just okay. He helped us navigate the chaotic ticket lines. He provided some limited information in front of the tomb for about 15 minutes. We then spent about an hour on our own exploring. There and back in 9 hours. He asked whether we had water (we said yes) but didn’t offer any. I’d probably use them again for the efficiency but do your own research on the history. Maybe don’t add the guide option.

The only way to see Abu Simbel
Excellent guide and super driver. Couldn't have been better. Recommend Highly Guide Herba was very knowledgeable and arranged things so we saw the whole site with little effort. The included lunch was excellent - we asked for Egyptian food and we're not disappointed.

Unreliable and unprofessional service
We had a 5am scheduled pickup from our hotel on Elephantine Island in Aswan (a short ferry ride from downtown). Email confirmation clearly stated that the guide will pick us up from the hotel. At 5:20am we received a text message from the tour company that the guide is waiting for us across the river. When I indicated that confirmation was the pickup was supposed to be from the hotel, I was told it was a mistake and they don't pick up from the island. I requested that the guide send a private ferry since this was 1) their mistake, 2) there was no ferry at the time from elephantine Island. The tour operator agreed and said a private ferry will come pick us up in 5 minutes (around 5:35am). That was the last message I ever received from her. Waited until 6am, no ferry in sight. 6am is when the public ferry starts so we took that and met the tour guide and driver who strangely seemed annoyed at us. We get to Abu Simbel and the guide gives her 5-minute spiel on the site and left us with 45 minutes to tour on our own. She clearly had no interest in answering any questions and just wanted to rush back to Aswan. Total trip time was 9 hours, even though the description clearly said 11-12 hours and that we'll have 2-3 hours to tour Abu Simbel. This was why we booked a private tour to be begin with. All in all, a very disappointing experience with the tour company and the tour guide.
