Leuke, leerzame en bijzondere dag!
Deze dagtrip hebben wij in Nederland geboekt bij Marsa Alam Tours. Wij logeerden in het Resort the Three Corners Fayrouz en wij zijn 's ochtends vroeg opgehaald door de auto met chauffeur om vervolgens naar Luxor te rijden. Een aangename verrassing was dat onze chauffeur, Amr Farrag, vloeiend Nederland bleek te spreken. Dat maakte de reis extra prettig; we konden met hem over van alles praten en hij heeft ons veel informatie gegeven over leven en werken in Egypte. In Luxor werden wij rondgeleid door Hoda Kamel. Wij hebben haar naam via een eerdere positieve review op Tripadvisor gevonden en zij bleek een bevlogen een zeer enthousiaste gids met veel kennis van zowel het oude als het nieuwe Egypte. De dagtrip was voor ons een eerste uitgebreide kennismaking met de Egyptische oudheid in Luxor; de tempel van Karnak, de Vallei van de Koningen, de tempel van Hatsjepsoet en de kolossen van Memnon stonden op het programma. De overheerlijke lunch vond plaats aan de overkant van de Nijl, en deze zijn wij per boot overgestoken, superleuk. We hebben een geweldige parfumerie bezocht en een albast steenwerkplaats. Je kunt hier de lokale producten kopen, maar dat hoeft niet. Erg fijn om Luxor op deze manier te ontdekken, Amr zorgde ervoor dat wij snel van de ene naar de andere plaats werden vervoerd en Hoda regelde echt alles, van tickets tot flesjes water. Vanwege het persoonlijke en zeer prettige contact met zowel Hoda Kamel als met Amr Farrag hebben wij een onvergetelijke dag beleefd.

Trip to Luxor
I booked on line and had to cancel today. I phoned through giving more than the 24 hours notice stated and things were handled okay and it was cancelled.

OVER THE TOP!!!
We booked this tour from Italy, after reading the feedback we decided to have this experience with Marsa Alam tour.
First of all, a special thanks to Ahmed e Islam who picked up from our hotel in Marsa Alam.
They drove the car for us for many kilometers to Luxor. they were delights, available and very nice. during the trip they told us how life in Egypt works and with great availability we felt like at home. the day in luxor was fantastic, the guide was with us all day, Zaccarhia speaks very good italian and gave us all the explanations. a very good lunch as well as a visit to the alabaster workshop and the papyrus workshop. Boat on the Nilo river were amazing. What do you want more ?? all perfect. Thank you for the wonderful experience you have given us. We will take this day always with us !!

Un po costosa e il viaggio e moto lungo e faticosi ma ne vale la pena.. luxor e bellissima.. una pompei all aperto versione egizia.. vale la pena andarci!! Stupendo!

SO worth it! I will be back
As a solo female traveller, I decided to book a tour with driver and Egyptologist. I had reservations about whether to go ahead or not, as it was the top end of my travelling budget, but if you now sit with the same consideration, I can only say "do it"! It is SO worth it. Hoda Kamel was my guide/egyptologist. She is fluent in English. I learned that was her second foreign language (first is French) which just made her even more impressive. Hoda is funny and honest and a great story teller. She is highly organised and really explained what to expect from the sights, the local traders wanting to sell souveniers and offered me choices, so I felt totally safe and very privileged to have been spending an entire day with Hoda and Hany (our driver). We saw the Karnak temple, The valley of the Kings and the really beautiful temple of Hatshepsut. She took me on a nile cruise for lunch, a papyrusfactory, through a newly discovered site and a few quirky roads where I got to see the life of real Luxor and we visited the workers village and alabaster factory. I had a full day of knowledge, laughs, wonder and I never wanted it to end. If you get a chance book a tour with Hoda Kamel. She made my day such a great experience and I would totally be be back!

Ein Ausflug wert
Wir haben im Radisson Blue das Angebot bekommen mit einem VIP geführten Bus, also nur meine Familie ihne andere, diesen Ausflug zu machen, das ganze wurde vom Reiseleiter organisiert. Der Guid war deutschsprachig und hat uns mit zwei Fahrer im Hotel morgens abgeholt. Die fahrt dauert ca. 2,5 Stunden und geht quer durch das Niemandsland. Wir haben die Sehenswürdigkeiten gesehen, bekamen genügend Zeit und konnten das Tempo und die Orte selbst wählen. Besser geht es nicht. Alles empfehlenswert.
