Le statue raffigurano Amenhotep III seduto sul trono e ciascuna statua è alta circa 18 metri (60 piedi) e pesa circa 700 tonnellate. Erano scolpiti in singoli blocchi di arenaria quarzite e originariamente collocati all'ingresso del tempio del faraone. Le statue furono create per custodire il tempio e per rappresentare il potere e l'autorità divina del faraone.

We did the half day West Bank Luxor tour and our guide was Ahmed Abdulteif. It was a brilliant morning - Ahmed not only gave us the history but anecdotes and shared his own favorite stories from Egyptian mythology. He knew his stuff and was super flexible with the pace (we were aged between 8 and 78) and chose a really great selection of tombs to give us a great flavor of the variety of styles. Took some great pics for us too! Thanks Ahmed (and driver Ali)

Had a great tour from Ahmed Abdulteif and the driver also called Ahmed was great too. Car was very nice and cool, bottled waters great. Ahmed was a considerate tour guide, very informative and good company. Recommended.

Abdel, our tour guide, was absolutely amazing. He gave us so much information from beginning to end. He was amazing with my 9 year old son too and made it fun for him. The whole day was a blast. We felt so relaxed all day and really looked after. The driving was great too. Thank you for such an amazing experience

The tour was excellent! Our guide Ahmed Abdelteif was amazing! Very knowledgeable and took great photos as well. Our driver Alaa was courteous and prompt. They were a great duo. We learned so much on this tour and would recommend Ahmed and Alaa to guide you.
