Colossi of Memnon

I Colossi di Memnone sono due enormi statue di pietra situate sulla riva occidentale del fiume Nilo vicino alla città di Luxor in Egitto. Sono tutto ciò che resta di un più grande complesso di templi funerari costruito dal faraone Amenhotep III durante il XIV secolo a.C. (circa 1350-1334 a.C.). Le statue raffigurano Amenhotep III seduto sul trono e ciascuna statua è alta circa 18 metri (60 piedi) e pesa circa 700 tonnellate. Erano scolpiti in singoli blocchi di arenaria quarzite e originariamente collocati all'ingresso del tempio del faraone. Le statue furono create per custodire il tempio e per rappresentare il potere e l'autorità divina del faraone.

Great guide around Luxor

Ahmed guided me to local historical sites around Luxor and Karnak and he did a great job. Ahmed was very personable and was reliable. He was also on time for our agreed schedule and made my trip very smooth and easy. The prices were fair and comparable with amounts that I researched beforehand. The transportation was very clean and safe and the seatbelts worked properly. I would definitely use Ahmed again for my tours around Luxor. Thanks!

Incredibile & perspicace

Questo è stato un tour delle meraviglie guidato da Ahmed Abdulteif e il nostro autista Alaa. Ahmed era molto informato e ha aggiunto così tanto contesto alla Valle dei Re e al Tempio Mortuario di Hatshepsut. Sarebbe stata un'esperienza deludente senza di lui. C'era anche una sosta bonus per un negozio di calcare (servivano abilità di mercanteggiamento) e una fabbrica di sciarpe (prezzo fisso) dove si potevano incontrare le donne che tessevano il prodotto! Abbiamo grandi suvenior per la nostra famiglia a casa. Il nostro autista Alaa è stato anche gentile e si è fermato lungo il percorso in modo da poter scattare foto dei siti che stavamo passando. Abbiamo avuto una grande esperienza con loro. Consigliamo questo tour per chiunque visiti Luxor per la prima volta.

Amazing and insightful!!

This was a wonder tour led by Ahmed Abdulteif and our driver Alaa. Ahmed was very knowledgeable and added so much context to the Valley of the Kings and Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. It would have been an underwhelming experience without him. There was even a bonus stop to a limestone shop (haggling skills needed) and a scarf factory were you could meet the women weaving the product! We got great suveniors for our family back home. Our driver Alaa was also kind and stopped along the route so we could take photos of the sites we were passing. We had a great experience with them. We would recommend this tour for anyone visiting Luxor for the first time.

Best Tour Guide and Driver!

We were super impressed and really happy with our tour with Abdel and Ala. Abdel was extremely knowledgable and professional having studied Egyptology at University The pace of the trip was great and we learnt a huge amount The transportation was excellent. Safe driver with seatbelts (not guaranteed in Egypt) and a comfortable car that was tidy and spotless. Highly recommend Thank you so much for making our trip to the valley of the kings that much more special

Racing across time

We had the best experience yesterday with Adbel visiting the Valley of the Kings and Hepshetsut. His enthusiasm for the stories was pouring out of him, and he was smiling throughout the whole tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and great at explaining the history to us. We even had a little race - it was a draw, but I'm sure he was holding back. For the best experience, you must book with Abdel.

Great adventure!

The tour was wonderful, enlightening and magical. Ahmed Abdulteif was a fantastic guide who was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the half day and Abdo the driver was very attentive Highly recommended tour and choose the 7am time to avoid some of the huge crowds.
