Payant.

Excellent tour

This trip, booked through Book Tour Egypt, was excellent value for money. Excellent communication throughout and our guide, Ahmed Sholah was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were fortunate to be in a small group of 6 which meant a lot of flexibility. I read several reviews before and concur that it is advisable to be with a guide as you don’t get pestered by vendors or others trying to help you/take a photo etc for a tip. The entire day, from the ease of the transfer and flight to Cairo, to collection and entrance to the experiences was faultless. Particular shout out to our driver for the day also. I’d highly recommend this trip and tour provider.

A great day with room for improvements

The trip was unforgettable and it was great to do this as a family. It was a long day with a lot of travelling and waiting. But at the end we've got what we came for. Of course we were prepare for a tight planned day with limited time but looking back the trip coud be more efficiënt. The main attractions were the Pyramids, the Sphynx and the Great Egyptian Museum. In total we've spent 30 min. at the Pyramids, 15 min. at the Spynx and 1 hour at the museum. For a full day trip (07:00-23:30) this was a bit poor. Experience vs talking Our guide Achmed was a well informed, funny and enthusiastic man we immediately liked. Sometimes Achmed was a bit too enthusiastic talking too much about what we are going to see. This took too much time. When the attraction is already near you dont want to listen for 30 min - 50 min. to what you will see - you just want to go in and see it yourself - but everytime we had to listen, listen, listen. Talking about insignificant things Talking about things that are not there you also dont want to listen to. What we could see in Luxor, what the different quality types are of the scarfs (even when it shows that nobody is intersted), how mummies are mummified (even if there are no mummies in the GEM), what the old museum has to offer...all not really interesting but only consuming precious time. All this talking started to irritate the whole group. But Achmed is a guy you just dont want to interrupt. It all sounded very entertaining and interesting. Still, when time is limited, I would suggest to keep it short and efficiënt so that we can really experience what we came for. The 'lunch' nobody really liked. There's a lot to improve there. I dont want to list everything. It was just food. Enough said. Less talk more food And about food. There was plenty water available during the trip. But you need to realize that most of us did not eat since 07:00. If you offer 1 falafel per person at 14:10 to eat inside the van while driving...people will get pretty hangry. After listening to Achmed what we could see in the Museum (all approx 51 min.), we had to spend 25 precious Museum minutes to order and eat something in the museum (which was great). Of the 2 planned hours we've only had ~30 min. left to really experience the museum. Which of course is to short. But then again "you really need 2 days or more to really experience the Museum". That's what Achmed said to help us understand the situation. In the TripAdvisor offer it says there is an option for a boat trip on the Nile with a Felucca and/or a walk through a bazaar in Cairo. Looking back how the day was planned these other options were absolutely impossible and unrealistic. Why advertise for something if it is not possible? Achmed mentioned desperately up to 3 times that it is really important to receive a 5 star review. After he asked 1 time I was thinking let's give a 5 star review and just move on. But after 3 times and asking to do the review on the spot this felt kind of manipulative and then I decided to give a truthful objective review. So to summarize, 1 day Cairo, Pramids, Sphynx and GEM is really challinging. All other options are impossible. Be efficiënt with the time. Spend more time letting people experience what they paid and came for and spend less time of talking about the experience. We as a family still look back on a great experience but also have second thougts on how things went. Regards, Michael, Brechje, Janou & Finn

Yuliya

We booked a full-day tour covering both the pyramids and the museum, and Falcon made it perfect from start to finish. He connected everything we saw, from the ancient structures to the treasures inside the museum, in a way that made the history flow naturally. The tour was well-paced, organized, and enjoyable throughout. Falcon’s professionalism and warm personality made us feel taken care of at all times. This was easily one of the best guided tours we’ve ever had!
