A deep dive into Egyptian history & culture

We had an extra day in Cairo so we booked this trip. We were glad we did. Achmed is a very knowledgeable guide who worked hard to make sure we had a rich experience.

Make time for this trip

This is a must when visiting Cairo so don't just visit the Pyramids of Giza. Saqqara isn't far away and you see some vestiges of rural life on your way. This is a large tomb complex with some lovely hieroglyphs still with their original colours, while at Dahshur you can climb up, inside and then down into the pyramid - if you're fit enough. Niveen was a friendly and knowledgeable guide and we're very glad we made this trip.

great trip

Ahmad Tika, our guide, was super knowledgeable and attentive, sharing awesome insights into Egyptian history that made the sites come alive way more than any guidebook could. Thanks to his expertise and arrangements, we got to go inside all the pyramids we visited (even the ones at Dahshur), which was a huge highlight—climbing through those ancient corridors felt really special and immersive.

Perfect introduction to Egypt

This was a superb tour, and the perfect introduction to our first visit to Egypt. With one day free ahead of our package tour to the usual tourist sites, we chose this private day trip to give us an introduction to the history of Egypt. The car was brand new, clean and comfortable, and the driver was very safe and courteous throughout. The guide, Ahmed, knew everything about the areas we visited, kept in touch with us throughout the trip, and was totally flexible about what we should see. However, be prepared to be bombarded with information for the entire journey! There was no visits to any stores or factories and no attempt to levy any commission or sales. We got exactly what we paid for and were delighted with the quality and value of this tour. Ahmed offered us a choice of pyramids to enter, if we wished, and we chose the Red, which was a thrilling, if somewhat taxing, experience. He also took us to superb tombs, showed us special places, stopped to buy us fresh dates and local soft drinks, and we finished the tour with a fabulous included lunch at 139 Pyramid Lounge with good food and a great view of the pyramids. We were back at our hotel about 7 hours after starting, including the lunch.

A fantastic tour with a wonderful tour guide.

We went on this tour to see the Step Pyramid, the Bent Pyramid, the Red Pyramid, and finally the magnificent statue of Ramses II in Memphis. Basmaa, who served as our guide, was extremely knowledgeable. She spoke very good English and was able to explain the significance of all of the pyramids and statues. The driver was very careful while navigating Cairo‘s insane traffic. The tour ended at a restaurant overlooking the Pyramids of Giza. I highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get the opportunity, using Basmaa as your tour guide!

Great experience for solo woman

Had a lovely time, great communication from my guide Shaimaa who also had a lot of interesting knowledge. Was nice to have a female guide as a solo traveller woman. Private car was clean, the driver was friendly and had a yummy lunch overlooking the great pyramids. A great way to see the sites and felt safe as a solo traveller.

Amazing 2 day tour of pyramids

We had an absolutely fantastic experience exploring Saqqara Memphis and Dahshur pyramids with our guide Ahmed Suliman. From start to finish, he was brilliant — incredibly knowledgeable, flexible, and genuinely passionate about Egypt’s history. We extended our tour with an additional half day tour of the Giza Pyramids . Ahmed brought the ancient world to life. Standing before the Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx of Giza was unforgettable, but what made it truly special was the depth of explanation he provided. He shared fascinating historical context, answered every question with clarity, and even pointed out details we would have completely missed on our own. His expertise really shone. He explained the evolution of pyramid construction in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. His flexibility with timing and pacing made the day relaxed and enjoyable — we never felt rushed, and he tailored the experience to our interests. Beyond his knowledge, he was warm, professional, and very accommodating. If you’re looking for a guide who is informative, adaptable, and truly passionate about Egyptian history, I couldn’t recommend Ahmed more highly. Also need to acknowledge the amazing drivers who negotiated the Cairo traffic ensuring we arrived safely to all of the sites and then dropped us at Cairo airport to continue our holiday in Egypt. An unforgettable two days .
