Lots of potential, but unfortunately disappointing implementation
We were really looking forward to this tour as the scope of services on Tripadvisor promised a lot – unfortunately our expectations were not met.
Already at the beginning there were problems with the collection. Because there were difficulties with the address, we were treated quite unpleasantly and reproachfully for about ten minutes instead of simply being helped kindly. Unfortunately, this has had a very negative impact on the entry.
As a European Muslim, I wore a headscarf, which led to a very inappropriate remark by the guide. He asked me with a strange look if I wanted to “imitate Egyptian style” – without apologizing after I declared that I was Muslim. This statement was very disrespectful to me and struck me personally.
The overall course of the tour was very rushed. We were taken from one temple to the next, but the guide often did not come in at all to give explanations. Especially in the Valley of the Kings, the story was “explained” to us with a photo album at an extremely fast pace, which was neither helpful nor informative.
When we asked for a short break or a drink, it was just: “You don’t really have time for that.” Lunch was also disappointing – qualitatively and price opaque. Although we had previously negotiated a cheaper price, it turned out in the end that the drinks were not included after all. Unfortunately, we felt pulled across the table.
Another point: We only received the water bottle promised on offer at the very end – and only because I complained. Instead of water, there were two Cokes. This is simply not appropriate for a tour in the Egyptian heat.
Overall, including lunch, we were already finished by 2pm, although a full-day tour was booked. For the price of 160 CHF (without lunch) we expected significantly more quality, information and above all respect.

Unforgettable experience in Luxor
I really liked the tour for a few reasons. First - the sites that Abdo was taken us to are truly magnificent. Second, his explanations and comments were very clear and gave us a lot of interesting insights. Three, Abdo was able to adjust the program for the pace, comfortable for my younger daughter, and took care about us along the way.

Awesome Guide
Roshdy was a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide. He knew places and people and made the tour easy and enjoyable. His driver was very polite and helpful. We highly recommend them.

Outstanding Service
We had an outstanding time. Our guide Muhammad did a tremendous job and is very knowledgeable about the history made sure we were comfortable with refreshments..
Our driver Hemid just waiting with more refreshments and the air conditioner on in the vehicle each time we returned.

Egypt Tours Portal 8 day Egypt tour with Nile cruise.
We did a Nile cruise and visited Abu Simbel, Aswan and Luxor for several days as part of an 8 day tour with Egypt Tours Portal. The tour was great, very busy and well organised. Our tour guide Ahmed Hassan was particularly good, with an extensive knowledge of Egyptian history and an easy outgoing manner. He ensured that everything went smoothly. Roshdy - Valley of the Kings trip.
Roshdy was an amazing guide. He was so knowledgeable and could answer every question we had about The Valley Of The Kings and all the temples. He explained everything perfectly and took us around at a perfect pace, making sure we were happy the whole time. He tailored our trip so that we saw exactly what we wanted to see. He even took us to an Albastair factory where I bought gifts to take home. He was kind, patient and easy to understand, his English is perfect.

A must in Luxor
The Valley of the Kings is a must when visiting Luxor. The 3 included graves are sufficient. When you saw them, you saw "everybody." The quietest are those further from the entrance. It gives you more freedom of movement. Those near the entrance are usually quite crowded and you have to deal with selfie hunters. Ideally you should be there as early as possible then it is not so hot yet.
Hatshepsut Temple is very impressive from a distance. With the inside, however, you are through quite quickly.
You don't need much time for the Colossi of Memnon either. They are imposing in any case.
