See the Library of Alexandria, St. Mark oldest church, the Roman amphitheater, take a walking tour in the old city center, Abbo Elabbas Mosque, Site of the Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Quaitbay Castle photo stop, Montaza Gardens & Palaces, Stanley Bridge, and El Nabi Daniel Mosque.
Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Travel to Alexandria. Start the tour with the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.
Visiting the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock
You will also drive by Pompay's Pillar and stop for a photo stop, (it was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century)
We will walk by the excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheater Ruins, Alexandria's Great Tomb excavation site, and various ruins. Please note that we will not be visiting the interior of these sites but will enjoy an external view while our guide shares insights into their historical significance.

Continue your tour by passing through the oldest market area in Mansheya and see the traditional womens’ markets (zan’et etsetat) with very thin and narrow streets, gold market also exists here where everyone buys their wedding and engagement jewellery.

The car will then transport you to the most beautiful and largest mosque in the city, allowing for a photo stop at the Abbo Elabbas Mosque.Walk by the oldest funfair in Egypt
Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are amazing. Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop.
Once in Montaza Gardens, commonly known as the Love Garden (all romantic couples and families go there) you will visit the royal gardens of King Farouk (the last king in the history of Egypt) and see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek as well as walk along the famous Montaza bridge and reach the Tea Palace island and see the royal beaches of the queens. Then travel in comfort back to your hotel in Cairo.

Today’s tour with Mohamed was lovely! He was so knowledgeable and friendly, and kept the group engaged with his witty jokes. We were picked up at 745 and returned to Cairo by 8! Would definitely recommend this tour and spending the day with Mohamed

Did this trip to Alexandria from Cairo and it was a great trip. The drive is a bit long, so we stop about half way to Alexandria for a coffee break. I liked the place they stop because it’s easy as a tourist to get coffee, water without the hassle of some of the tourist drags in the city. Once we got into Alexandria, we saw the sights! Mohamed was our tour guide, he was very thorough, helpful and knowledgeable about the sights, and also I think it really helps he is a local to the city. My favorite part of the tour was the catacombs. It really just shocked me because it was pretty expansive and shows from some of the pieces above the catacombs that there is still a lot that hasn’t been unearthed. For sure this is a must do tour while in Egypt to city that is rich in history!

Your was really great the guide very knowledgable and could explain us in detail several different facts about Alexandria. Great visit to the Library , the Catacombs , the area where the Lighthouse was. The three stars go for the lunch we had at Athineos Restaurant. Please avoid at any cost the lunch costed something like 15 dollars and the food was horrible all dishes made several hours before served , very poor quality of food. please ask where you ll go for Lunch and if this is Athineos please avoid it.

Mohammed was an awesome guide. Did a comprehensive guiding of a day trip Alexandria from Cairo. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip! The dinner at the seafood restaurant at the end of the trip was great too!

I had a wonderful day on a guided tour with Norhan through Alexandria, packed with all the astonishing archaeological sites, a visit to the library, a stroll in the Montaza gardens, and a great lunch. I can highly recommend this tour!

Norhan was an excellent guide. Sue was very friendly and knowledgeable about each place that we went. She gave us plenty of time to look around on our own and whenever we had questions she was quick to answer. Definitely worth doing the day trip.

Our tour guide, Waleed Magdy, was extremely knowledgeable about the history and shared it in great detail. He was thorough, patient, and very kind with everyone in our tour group. It was indeed a full day touring, so come rested and prepared. I highly recommend this tour experience and this tour guide.

We had an absolutely incredible experience to Alexandria library, we visited the catacombs of Kom El Shokafa , the Lighthouse one of the Seven Wonders of Ancient world. Our tour guide Mahmoud Abd Elrahman is very passioned professional with so many knowledge about the history , he told us so many details about everything even for the present Alexandria. We took a long walk together in the downtown which was amazing! He suggested delicious local food and deserts !!! We had so much fun with him. Our driver Ahmed Saimir a very kind man , was driving very carefully which made us feel safe. So thank you for this amazing tour with you guys Mahmoud Abd Elrahman and Ahmed Saimir !!! We had an amazing day in Alexandria with our guide Mohamed! Together we visited all of the most important sights and got a lot of interesting information about them. Mohammed is an historian expert with a lot of knowledge, humour and charme. He knows how to explain the history of the city in a very understandable and entertaining way. The trip was very well organized. Both Mohamed and our driver took enough time for everything and cared well for everyone. 10/10, would recommend!
