The Citadel of Cairo or Citadel of Saladin (Arabic: قلعة صلاح الدين Qalaʿat Salāḥ ad-Dīn) is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, built by Salah ad-Din (Saladin) and further developed by subsequent Egyptian rulers. It was the seat of government in Egypt and the residence of its rulers for nearly 700 years from the 13th to the 19th centuries. Its location on a promontory of the Mokattam hills near the center of Cairo commands a strategic position overlooking the city and dominating its skyline. At the time of its construction, it was among the most impressive and ambitious military fortification projects of its time. It is now a preserved historic site, including mosques and museums.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. Built in 1901 by the Italian construction company Garozzo-Zaffarani to a design by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the edifice is one of the largest museums in the region. As of March 2019, the museum is open to the public. In 2020 the museum is due to be superseded by the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.

Fuimos a un tour por toda la ciudad del Cairo, la mesquita de Mohammed Ali y paramos a comer en un restaurant tipo buffet y terminamos en el bazaar muy histórico y me lleve buenos recuerdos. Mi guia fue en español así que fue un buen dia para aprender.

Myself and my friend from the UK loved learning even more history with our brilliant tour guide Eesaam. We had him for multiple tours during our time in Egypt and we were soo impressed with his level of detail and knowledge! He explained things in such a clear manner and helped clear any misconceptions! We loved going to see Tutankhamen and all the other significant figures. We greatly enjoyed touring the citadel and have wonderful pictures thanks to Eesaam's amazing camera skills! Khan El Khalili market was fascinating and I will never forget the hustle and bustle...well worth the visit. I would like to say that this was one of the most enjoyable days on our trip to Egypt thanks to Eesaam and his amazing hospitality! Well worth the tour! A and S

Ehab Hoba and Mohamed Salah were amazing. We had a great tour of the city and the Egyptian museum. Ehab was very knowledgeable when we were at the museum, and our driver Mohamed Salah was great too.

El museo es muy interesante pero require tiempo . Al bazar es mejor entrar con el guía para ir a los puntos de interés y no perder la mañana .

One of the best experiences ever, I had such a good time, my tour started since 8 in the morning and they picked me up exactly at that time, my guides was Sayed Mahmoud and my drivers name was Mohmed Bascha, besides from doing their work they are amazing persons, so helpful and kind, always checking on me, they love doing their work and honestly felt the whole experience as if I was with friends, made me feel like home, definitely would repeat it all!

Non la consiglio perché, non so se dipende dalla guida, non ci siamo trovati bene. Vi spiego: pickup alle nove e già li la guida ci dice che il tour sarebbe durato 5/6 ore quando vi è scritto 8/10 ore. Alla cittadella ci ha spiegato solo l’ingresso e un po’ di storia ma per il resto nulla sulla moschea. Al museo egizio un po’ di più ma niente di eccezionale per poi lasciarsi soli e la stessa cosa al bazar. Insomma abbiamo prolungato il tour perché ci siamo fermati a fare foto altrimenti sarebbe finito prima. Più che una guida un accompagnatore. Simpatico per carità però le guide sono altre per me.

A fantastic day trip within Cairo doing the tour to the Egyptian museum, the citadel and the Khan Khalili Bazaar. Enjoyable trip within Cairo. My guide Mamdouh Kamal was very knowledgeable and welcoming, my driver Gilhad also made for a smooth trip on the crazy roads of the city. Would certainly recommend this trip.
