The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II.The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramesses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God together as one. Spend around 3 hours there then take the way back to Aswan.

We had a great time visiting the Abu Simble. Our guide Weilly and driver Ali were punctual, professional and made the trip very smooth. Weilly gave us comprehensive history of the temple and was attentive to us throughout the entire day. I highly recommend them!

Drivers late you 30 minutes. Then they drove at crazy speeds, even 180 km/h, often using the phone simultaneously. despite many requests to slow down they did not decrease the speed. Organization in Abu Simbel good site

Abu Simbel is an incredible wonder, for me among the most beautiful things seen in my life and nothing to envy to the 7 wonders of the world. Communication with the agency was a bit problematic but the driver was very good and super quick, a little more communication and everything would be perfect.

It's a long good road across the dessert, no towns, and just a pair of coffee/ toilet/ stops. The car was in very good shape, the driver was good, and arrived on time, he kept the speed, and with only a 5 minute toilet break we did in exactly 3 hours. Same 3 hours return. That was great. Spend 2 hours at Abu Simbel but would have liked to stay for another one, just to admire the place and setting even more. It is worthy.

This bad review is due to the horrible communication we had with the agency. It was the first time that WE reached out via Viator to the agency 1 day before the trip, because they didn’t write to us and the trip was due to start at 05 00 next day. In short, if your hotel is on one of Aswan’s island, they will not pick you up from the hotel, even if it is written that this is included. The agency will maybe confirm that is - in our case, they confirmed even the night before that everything is fine - and the driver will be lost in the morning of the pickup - because he has a car, not a boat, he cannot reach you. We lost 3hours in the morning of the pickup because of this miscommunication and we struggled not to make our trip bitter. Furthermore, the start of the trip can easy be at 07 00 or even 08 00. There is no need to rush. We didn’t understand why starting at 04 00 😵 5 stars for the driver Mohamed - fast and still safe, almost no use of phone while driving, nice music, no talking non-sense. 5 stars for the Abu Simbel site - we stayed for 2hours, seeing everything, taking pictures, shopping, coffee and it was enough. More would have been welcome, but also 2h was just fine. 5 stars for the lunch - take the fish, it’s grill made. The tahini was awesome, too. One of our best meals in Egypt so far. Last but not least - the guide (s). Yes, there are two, which we found quite funny and creative. They didn’t travel with us from Aswan, we met them there. One will pick you up from the parking and walk with you till the site. The second one is just standing there in front of the site and saying the story to the tourists that are brought to him by the first guide - who probably has a list. Our expectations were quite low about the guide in itself, so we were able to find the humor in the situation and to appreciate it. The story in front of the site was not exceptional, but good. His English was good. So book the guide if you don’t expect a full fledged Egyptologist in depth storytelling, otherwise you will be disappointed.

We booked the driver+guide option (double the price of driver alone) and when we arrived at Abu Simbel, there was no guide! Their folks at Abu Simbel kept telling us “a guide will come” and made us wait for close to an hour before we finally just walked off to see the monument ourselves. We then requested a PARTIAL refund of 50% (reduce to cost of driver only) and they refused. Very very dishonest company. There are a dozen companies that can take you to Abu Simbel, book with ANYONE but Emo Tours. The company is nothing short of con artists.

The driver picked us up at the hotel on time in a new, clean car. On the way to Abu Simbel, he kindly explained the agricultural development in the desert areas and the local villages. Thanks to him, we had a very pleasant trip.

Booking driver only is enough - the guide is soooooo in a hurry to deliver his content and go that he skips slides, asks a questions and answers them at one breath in between calls on his phone. Lunch is in a very unappealing place (we skipped it). I would go to say it’s worth booking the driver by your hotel - because getting to a human operator that knows consistently which tour he is answering to is also challenging. All in all, only the venue itself defends this tour.

I had a very bad experience on this tour which I want to share for future travellers. Hope it can help someone - 1) The tour guide was not with us in the car starting from Aswan, first shock. - We booked private tour because we wanted to travel with someone expert who can speak english and keep us safe during 4 hour long journey. While booking through Viator, nowhere it was mentioned that guide won’t be in the car and will meet only inside Abu simbel temple. Emo Tour cheated us. 2) Second and most important, the driver was very rude person. I never had such a bad experience with any driver in my life. Let me list down incidents one by one - - I requested him politely to move his driver seat little bit so that my legs can fit in comfortably. He ignored my request, I asked him 2-3 times more, he didn’t listen. I sat crosslegged whole time. - He was driving very fast (more than 120-130) so I politely requested him to drive slowly then he rudely reacted saying he likes driving fast and he will drive like that no matter what. His car was also giving warning sounds for overspeeding but he ignored them. - He was constantly on phone while driving so fast - He kept the air conditioner so strong that we had literally beg him multiple times to switch it off but he ignored. - After dropping at hotel, driver had the audacity to ask for Tip even after so many bad experiences whole day. When I refused, he gave very rude look. I have travelled to so many countries and taken numerous group & private tours but never had such bad experience. I spent so much money to book private tour just to get some comfort and luxury experience. But this day tour with Emo Tour company left a very scary and bad experience for us.

We took the private car tour from Aswan to Abu Simbel and everything went very well. The outbound journey was super fast: departure at 7.30am and arrival at 11.30am, with a short break along the way in the morning. The driver left us all the time we wanted and we left at 1pm to arrive at 4pm in Aswan. In the morning, the driver was 20 minutes late, but nothing serious. The car was in excellent condition and good quality. A very pleasant and comfortable experience!
