Wake up early morning in Luxor for a hot air ballooning trip is an amazing experience. A representative will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to the West Bank to enjoy air ballooning riding. Transfer to marine enjoy refreshment breakfast before you take the motor boat to the west bank, then you will be transferred to the take-off area where you are going to start your balloon ride in the sky of the biggest open-air museum ( Luxor ). The “Balloon Ride” trip departs daily, however confirmation in advance is still highly recommended. The balloon ride takes 45 minutes depending on the weather, before your land again, to catch your pick-up and return to your hotel.

Not as good as last time

I last did this in 2016 and showed the current organisers pictures from the last trip, some of which were amazing. I had gone with the same company. Sadly, this time, the experience was not as exhilarating; it could have been down to a slightly later departure (not the company's fault). We seemed to start at about 0615 and the last pics I have of the balloon being deflated are at about 0647. We flew over Queen Hatshepsut's temple and Howard Carter's house. Previously, we had gotten fairly close to the Nile, and seen a greater variety of scenery but this time, we seemed to stay in quite a linear path from takeoff to the landing site. We also seemed to stay fairly close to the ground for a fair bit of the time. One of the pictures I have attached is looking backwards at the other balloons which took off at a similar time. Personally I would have preferred to be in one of those which is further to the left, those people would have seen a greater variety of sights. We were charged US$45 per person for the experience. It may be worth asking your balloon operator about the likely flight path, but as ours stressed all the way through they can only control movement up and down and not sideways! So perhaps it is pot-luck as to what happens? The tour is very well organised in terms of logistics, briefings and overall process. These people obviously know what they are doing. This landing was smooth. I should say that the last time we did not end up at the landing zone and the landing was bumpy, but I preferred that trip overall.

Amazing experience

Loved the experience! The views, photos, treatment of Taja and Mohamed from the explanation and instructions, everything was organized and perfect! I would repeat it again... we were about to not make it by the wind but in the end it was made! It would be great if the agency explained before what would happen if for air conditions you can not achieve the trip that passes, but outside of that all excellent!

Amazing Hot Air Balloon Ride

Ahmed and the experienced Pilot made me feel safe and comfortable since I am afraid of heights. It wasn’t scary at all and the breathtaking views made it totally worthwhile. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone! I truly loved it!

Favorite in Luxor

Excellent experience!!! A very well organized team, we are picked up from the hotel and then take a boat to the other side. Ahmed was cordial for these instructions! Very pleasant flight, I highly recommend you!

Great views over Luxor

Very good flight with Captain Khalid. Nice views over Luxor. We did miss the sunrise but it was due to the unstable wind conditions.

Amazing sunrise experience in Luxor

The best experience of my life! Everything was excellent, from the reservation with Laila, who treated me with great affection and quickly answered all my questions, the drivers who picked me up, the treatment, the punctuality, to the experience itself, which was amazing!! Also a 10 to the balloon pilot who was super nice. If you want security and trust, contract with them!!

Well-organised trip by competent company

Efficient takeoff and landing with Khalid, a clearly experienced pilot, who provided a tour of the attractions we flew over, including the Valley of the Kings, Queens and Nobles. The logistics and safety instructions were explained clearly by Ahmed.

Sunrise balloon

Smooth and enjoyable not scary at all Khaled the pilot was experienced and was very kind and informative. Got to go around and see historical sites of Cairo. Thanks to Ahmed for the booking.
