Our dolphin trip on 7/22/2026
⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) We went on the dolphin trip today and would like to share our honest experience. The pickup at the hotel went a bit bumpy at first. Our transfer arrived about 25 minutes late, which made us think in the meantime that we had perhaps been forgotten. Ultimately, however, we were brought safely to the harbor in an air-conditioned minibus. At the harbor, however, the first surprise awaited: Instead of a small group, there were two very large boats, each of which was filled with about 30–40 people. That is not what we had imagined. In retrospect, we probably should have read the description more carefully. Afterward, we had to wait another 30–40 minutes for more guests before the tour finally began. The trip out to the open sea was beautiful. The water was crystal clear and the landscape truly impressive. After only a short time, we discovered a pod of dolphins with about six to seven dolphins. Seeing the animals up close was a great experience. Unfortunately, this moment was overshadowed for us by the behavior of the boats. Around four to five speedboats as well as two other large excursion boats pursued the dolphins, sometimes very aggressively, cutting them off and literally trying to encircle them. That was very uncomfortable for us and, honestly, sad to watch. This is not how we had imagined respectful interaction with the animals. When the opportunity arose to jump into the water with the dolphins, the entire situation was very hectic. The guides did not communicate clearly that one had to get into the water immediately and that this would be the only opportunity. My girlfriend was overwhelmed by the hectic pace and the confusing situation and initially wanted to observe for a moment. Since the guides' communication was unfortunately very unclear, she assumed that there would be another opportunity later. However, there was not, which is why she unfortunately missed the chance. We found that very unfortunate. Those who were in the water in time were able to see the dolphins swim by from just one to two meters away – that was truly impressive. There were plenty of free drinks on board. Additionally, snacks, ice cream, and drinks like Red Bull were sold for an extra charge. Furthermore, photos and underwater footage were taken during the tour, which you could purchase afterward. We liked the snorkeling stops at the coral reefs. They were guided, and we were able to observe many fish and even a stingray. After lunch – which was okay – there was also the opportunity to snorkel independently at the pier or simply relax in the water. Conclusion: Overall, I do not regret the experience, as it was still something special to see dolphins in the wild. However, I would not book this tour again in the form offered or recommend it to others. From my perspective, this so-called "dolphin tour" only has a little bit to do with the dolphins – I estimate only about 20% of the entire tour was really about the animals. The majority consisted of boat trips, snorkeling stops, and breaks. So anyone expecting a relaxed excursion with a focus on dolphin watching should adjust their expectations accordingly. Especially the way many boats handle the dolphins left a negative impression on us and, in our view, is not worth supporting.

Beautiful experience
Beautiful day with the family. We were able to see the dolphins by boat. Negative point: pickup scheduled at 7:50 AM and the boat didn't start until 9:45 AM. Long wait time

The people on the boat were very friendly and welcoming. However, the staff on the beach, where we booked the trip, were dishonest with us from the very beginning. They misled us and did not deliver what they had promised.
