Day Trip from Hurghada to Cairo
Our day began with a smooth transfer from our hotel to the airport, followed by a short flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our guide, Fahmi, who truly made the day unforgettable.
From the very beginning, it was clear that Fahmi is not only highly knowledgeable but also deeply passionate about his work. He genuinely enjoys what he does, and his enthusiasm shines through in the way he shares Cairo’s rich history and culture. Throughout the day, he ensured that every detail was taken care of, making the experience seamless and enjoyable.
Thanks to his guidance, we were able to immerse ourselves in Cairo’s unique atmosphere, from its breathtaking landmarks to its vibrant traditions. It was more than just sightseeing—it was a cultural journey that gave us a real taste of Egypt’s heritage.
This trip was truly special, and Fahmi played a big part in turning it into a memorable adventure. If you’re looking for a day filled with history, culture, and unforgettable moments, I couldn’t recommend this experience more.

Great trip
It's a long day, but it's well worth it. Taxi picked us up at 4.00 am for a 6.00 flight, which was great. As soon as we landed, we met our guide, Ahmed, who looked after us brilliantly. We were driven straight to the pyramids and onto our camels for photos. We then had a bit of time around the pyramids to take a closer look, then a walk down towards the Sphinx for more photos. Then, it was onto a spice/fragrance shop for refreshments and time for a few gifts. Lunch was next in a restaurant overlooking the pyramids, which was very nice. Onto the museum next and Ahmed took us around all the highlights. Onto the boat trip on the Nile next. We then made our way back towards the airport in the rush hour traffic, which is an eye-opener itself. Going through Cairo, you see the different ways of living, the market stalls, and basic slums to the high rises and hotels, all within close proximity. A great trip.

Stunning day 😍
A breathtaking day!
Departure from the hotel at 4am with a very pleasant driver.
Welcoming at the airport excellent departure and arrival.
Thanks to our early arrival, we were able to visit Old Cairo. The only downside, our French guide only joined us at the Egyptian Museum so the visit to Old Cairo was in English.
Then we were taken care of by Fared our French guide, who has a more than excellent knowledge of Egypt and who was able to give us many details about the pieces of this magnificent museum.
Then we went for a walk on the Nile (10 € extra per person) and then have a meal in a restaurant overlooking the pyramids. Juste wow 🤩.
After that, we stopped at a shop in Papyrus (#touristcatcher).
And finally, the highlight of the show, the pyramids.
We wanted to get into one of them because it was our daughter's dream but our guide advised us free entry to a smaller pyramid which is more than enough (13 meters deep, stifling heat and humidity +++)
We were also able to take a camel ride (comedy) for 10€ per person.
It is a wonderful experience because we were able to see the pyramids from another angle.
After the breathtaking tour of the pyramids, our guide took us to a perfume shop (#catcherkitteencoreetagain) where we could enjoy a refreshing moment!
Then the driver dropped us off at the airport, or unfortunately the plane was an hour late.
We return tired of this visit but so amazed and blown away to have seen these wonders of Cairo.

Such a fantastic day for...
Such a fantastic day for all of the family. Communication was excellent and the day ran smoothly. We were picked up at the exact time we were told from our hotel. When we arrived in Cairo we were greeted by our tour guide Fahme. He was incredible! So knowledgable, friendly and patient. He took us to the best photo spots and gave us lots of useful tips throughout the day. A great experience and memories to last a lifetime. I would definitely recommend.

Amazing trip
There was 8 of us on the trip 4adults and 4 children. We had such a fantastic day from start to finish. We were send all information required prior to the trip. Our tour guide Famhe was brilliant and we believe we had the best guide who showed us more than we expected. Highly recommend the trip to anyone looking at going.

Unforgettable Cairo Day Trip with Excellent Guide
We really enjoyed our one-day Cairo trip – the Pyramids, the Nile and Giza were amazing! Famhi was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and kind. The only downside was that the trip ended up lasting about 20 hours instead of the planned 15–18 because of flight delays (around 1 hour on the way there and nearly 2 hours on the way back). Other than that, everything was perfect and we highly recommend it!

Fantastic day out! Great organisation, amazing experience, knowledgeable guide
We went to Cairo as two families with four young children between us. We loved everything about the day and would highly recommend this trip. The organisation was superb. Initially, we were due to go on the Wednesday but, due to airport delays, it was rearranged for Saturday. Book Tour Egypt arranged everything and their helpfulness and communication was excellent. Our guide on the day, Fahme, was absolutely first class. He looked after us throughout and he was brilliant with the kids. And his knowledge of ancient Egypt was astounding. On Saturday we woke early and by 9am we were riding camels across the desert to see the pyramids from the perfect vantage point. We spent a few hours exploring the pyramids and Sphinx followed by lunch (don’t forget to bring cash to pay for drinks)
Next was the museum to see the many treasures of Egypt, including those of Tutankhamun. After a short much needed coffee break we climbed aboard for a cruise down the Nile and captured more fabulous pictures as the sun was starting to set. Next, we visited old Cairo to absorb the sights and sounds of the bustling market. By the end of the day we were all exhausted but very happy. Overall, an amazing day we’ll never forget!

Really well organised, excellent guide and good value for money
We took two day trips whilst staying in Makadi Bay and this one was really well organised. Communication was great beforehand, so we knew what was happening, even though we only booked two days before the trip.
We were collected from our hotel on time and dropped at the airport with boarding passes and met at the airport in Cairo by Fahme our guide and Mr Muhammad, our driver.
Fahme was entertaining, knowledgeable and we learned a lot without being overloaded with information. He pointed out lots of social and religious things of interest as well as the history of course.
We headed first to the museum, where we had a tour of the highlights, along with lessons in how to read hieroglyphs. Mr Muhammad was always waiting with his air conditioned minibus and cold bottles of water exactly where we needed him and drove quietly and efficiently through the chaotic Cairo traffic.
Lunch was a buffet in an upstairs restaurant which catered for similar western parties and had a view of the pyramids. We paid for our own drinks here but there was a good choice of both food and drinks.
Then we were driven to the pyramids. Fahme knew the best places to take photos and we opted for a camel ride for the children and a horse drawn cart for us to take us to the panoramic viewpoint (extra charge cash or card) which was great for photos. The hop on hop off bus took us right up to the pyramids but we struggled a bit with the heat. Back on the bus and next stop the Sphinx. We got there just before closing at 4.30pm but Fahme took us to another viewpoint slightly further away where we also got good photos.
Mr Muhammad was waiting perfectly placed again to cool us down and take us to the perfume shop. Here we had cold drinks and an interesting chat with the owner about the range of goods. Then on to the government papyrus shop where we saw how papyrus was made and were able to choose our own cartouche and have our names inscribed in hieroglyphs (extra charge).
Fahme then took us inside the central mosque which was both beautiful and fascinating and an extra stop I'm so glad we made.
Our boat trip on the Nile was next (extra charge) and perfectly timed so that we could watch the sunset and see the city come alive. Mr Muhammad then drove us right into the centre of the old city and Fahme guided us through the sights and sounds and smells of the packed streets of the evening bazaars before we were dropped back at the airport for a very late flight, collected and taken back to our hotel in Hurghada.
It was certainly a lot of money, with extra things to pay for along the way and it was a long and tiring day, but utterly wonderful. The company were really well organised and communicative and we knew what was happening and felt safe and well looked after.
We would definitely recommend the trip, the company and Fahme our guide and Mr Muhammad our driver. They have got this experience spot on! THANK YOU.
