First, make sure you have WhatsApp as all communications are through such given that most USA travelers do not use this app it led to massive confusion regarding changes to pick up times. Plan on spending about half the time picking up and dropping off other travelers from different hotels around town. The main market is a tourist trap of repeating stores. Guide helped stop people from bothering us and cleared the way, but you only need 30 minutes in the market before you have seen everything. Very little information provided about the history or culture of Cairo. Boat ride was blaring music and provided no commentary. For $24 it wasn’t horrible but there was a huge amount of difference between this tour and a private one on one tour the next day to the pyramids. Go into this knowing you’ll be moved around and safe, but not educated.

It is well paced and quite an eye opener into everyday life in Cairo. The restaurant for dinner was a famous one known world wide and in all the hustle and bustle of 6 floors the food was delicious and served very well.

Ahmed provided us with an unforgettable experience at the market. We went during a holiday so it was busy. He kept us very safe. Food and drinks were abundant. His driver was excellent as well. I highly recommend Ahmed.
