We will pick up you at 9:00 from your accommodation in Cairo or Giza to tour the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx with a guide on this convenient tour. With an expert Egyptologist as your tour guide, go to the Pyramids of Khofu, Khafre, and Menakaure where you’ll have the option to go inside (additional cost). Then, take a camel ride before driving down the plateau for a visit to the Sphinx.
On this private half-day tour, journey back in time to witness one of the last standing wonders of the ancient world: the Great Pyramids of Giza and their iconic guardian, the Sphinx. Accompanied by an expert Egyptologist guide, enjoy an intriguing introduction to the Pyramids of Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure. You’ll have free time to enter the pyramids (extra ticket required; guides are not permitted inside). Next, enjoy a memorable 20-minute camel ride—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Afterward, capture breathtaking photos on the plateau with all three pyramids as your backdrop. Conclude the tour at the feet of the mighty Sphinx, a timeless symbol of power and mystery, before your return journey.
The Great Pyramid of Cheops, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, is the largest and most impressive of the three pyramids on the Giza Plateau. Standing at 146.6 meters (481 feet), it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years. Built as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu, it is a testament to ancient Egyptian engineering and precision. The pyramid originally featured a smooth limestone casing, reflecting sunlight and giving it a brilliant appearance. Inside, it houses the King’s Chamber, containing a sarcophagus, and an intricate network of passages and chambers. The Great Pyramid remains an enduring symbol of ancient Egypt’s architectural marvels, drawing visitors from around the world to marvel at its scale and historical significance.
Khafre’s Pyramid, the second largest on the Giza Plateau, stands at 143.5 meters (471 feet) tall. It was built for Pharaoh Khafre, the son of Khufu, and is notable for its architectural complexity. While slightly smaller than the Great Pyramid of Cheops, Khafre’s Pyramid appears taller due to its elevated position on the plateau and the surrounding remnants of its smooth limestone casing. It is also famous for housing the iconic Great Sphinx, a colossal statue with the body of a lion and the head of Khafre, guarding the pyramid. Inside, the pyramid contains a burial chamber, though much of the original treasure has been lost. Khafre’s Pyramid, with its grandeur and mystical connection to the Sphinx, remains a powerful symbol of ancient Egypt’s glory and ingenuity.
The Pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three pyramids on the Giza Plateau, standing at 65 meters (213 feet) tall. Built for Pharaoh Menkaure, it is distinguished by its relatively modest size compared to the grand pyramids of his predecessors, Khufu and Khafre. Despite its smaller stature, the pyramid is an architectural marvel, originally covered in fine limestone and capped with granite. The interior includes a burial chamber, though much of the original contents have been lost over time. Menkaure’s pyramid is notable for its exquisite mortuary temple and nearby smaller pyramids dedicated to his queens. Its construction and design reflect the continued grandeur of Egypt’s Old Kingdom, showcasing the enduring legacy of the pharaohs.
The panoramic view of the Pyramids offers a breathtaking perspective of Giza’s ancient wonders, where all three monumental pyramids—Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure—stand proudly against the desert backdrop. From this vantage point, you can appreciate their impressive scale and alignment. For a truly unforgettable experience, opt for a camel ride, which provides a unique, close-up view of the pyramids while adding an authentic touch to your journey. The ride, typically lasting 20 minutes, lets you soak in the panoramic vista from the plateau, where you can capture stunning photos with the majestic pyramids in the background. Whether on foot or atop a camel, this spot offers one of the most iconic and picturesque views in Egypt.
The Great Sphinx, a symbol of ancient Egypt's power, stands as a majestic guardian of the Giza Plateau. Carved from limestone, this colossal statue has the body of a lion and the head of Pharaoh Khafre, representing strength, wisdom, and royal authority. It measures 73 meters (240 feet) long and 20 meters (66 feet) high, making it one of the largest monolithic statues in the world. Nearby, the Valley Temple of King Khafre, where mummification rituals took place, adds to the grandeur of the site. The temple, built with massive limestone blocks, is known for its well-preserved structure and statues of Khafre that once adorned it. Together, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple highlight the architectural and religious sophistication of ancient Egyptian civilization.
After completing your unforgettable visit to the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx, your private air-conditioned vehicle will comfortably transfer you back to your accommodation in Giza or Downtown Cairo, bringing your tour to a smooth and relaxing end.

Our tour to the Pyramids was absolutely incredible, and Hamdi made the experience unforgettable. He confirmed our pickup in advance, arrived on time, and was friendly and professional from start to finish. Hamdi was extremely knowledgeable and shared the history of the Pyramids and the Sphinx in a way that was both interesting and easy to understand. He was also very kind, patient, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the day. One of the best parts of the tour was that he took amazing photos of us. He knew all the best spots and even helped us capture fun, creative pictures at the pyramids and during our camel ride. We left with memories we’ll cherish forever. He also went above and beyond by giving us great recommendations for other places to visit, restaurants to try, and tips on how to make the most of our short stay in Cairo. If you’re visiting Egypt, I highly recommend asking for Hamdi as your guide. His knowledge, kindness, and attention to detail made this one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you, Hamdi, for an unforgettable experience!

The highlight of the tour was our incredible guide, Habiba. She was warm, friendly, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable. Her fascinating stories and explanations brought the history of ancient Egypt to life, and she made sure everyone had a fantastic time while answering all our questions. My driver Ahmed and tour guide named Ahmed as well were amazing. The vehicle they picked us up on time and the car was clean, spacious and air conditioned. They were punctual and took care of us all the way. Our tour guide explained every single detail throughout the guide and didn’t miss a thing. He took great photos of my family and I throughout the tour. The scenery was breathtaking and stunning. If you’re riding camels be prepared to tip so bring cash because you will get hassled for it. When you purchase your trip on Viator everything is included which you pay a high price. But overall it’s still recommended to tip your guide, driver, and camel owners as much as your budget allows you too.

This tour was perfect!! Our guide, Yemani, truly made the experience for us. He texted us the night before and confirmed our pick-up, and he was early with a driver the day-of. He explained everything we would do step-by-step so there were no surprises, and thoroughly explained the history of the pyramids and sphinx. He then took us to perfume and papyrus stores where he ensured we didn’t have to buy anything - and he was right, the shop owners were very kind and chill. He also took AMAZING photos of me and my partner. Could not recommend him enough - thank you!

The part of the guide to the museum is dispensable and at the collection the driver left the guide first and then to me.
