We had such a great time our guide Ahmed was very knowledgeable and friendly. In addition to the itinerary they were able to add a few additional stops that were amazing. We are very grateful for to Ahmed and our driver for going above and beyond. If you are looking to experience and learn more about Cairo life and history this is a must.

Our experience with Viator and our guide Ahmed was quite poor. Not only the car driver and guide were late by 30 mins to pick us up but also they jumped stops included in the itinerary. It really felt our guide was just explaining to us the bear minimum i.e. we would have ended up with the same information if we have done the tour ourselves.

Nice tour , we saw many places in the old cairo ( Citadel, Mohammed Ali mosque , hanging church , khan El Khalili and sultan Hassan mosque) the car driver was excellent.

Éramos un grupo de 7 personas adultas. Tour recomendado, con el guía en español Samy. Buen conocimiento histórico de los lugares visitados. El almuerzo estaba incluido como parte de los servicios que pagamos, y comimos muy bien. La atención brindada por el guía y el chofer fue excelente. Por problemas con el tráfico, no nos dio tiempo completar el tour el mismo día, ver el Cairo Corpo y el guía fue responsable de cumplir y llevarnos en otra fecha para completar el Tour.

We had a tour in spanish. I don't remember the tour guide's name, but she was very good and knowledgeable. She knew her history and gave us a glimpse into the Muslim world: Customs, religion, dogmas and locations. We visited the Muhammad Ali mosque first (very beautiful) and two other mosques in Islamic Cairo. Then we visited the Coptic Cairo and entered three very old churches. This would have been a perfect tour, but like the title suggests, everything changed at the very end. First, we were not given water throughout the tour, but it was supposed to be included (this isn't that important, though). What really made this tour bad was the last visit. After eating at a restaurant, the tour was supposed to finish. Our tour guide wanted to take us to a last place, however. We didn't think much of this, though, because we were so happy with the tour guide and thought she was going above and beyond. She wasn't. As you'll encounter throughout your private tours (I believe this doesn't happen during bus tours), there will be many attempts to scam you, especially if you look european or american. You can get away from these situations by being assertive and outright refusing any tour that deviates from your itinerary. We didn't know this at the time, so this was on us. Our tour guide took us to a fragrance oil shop to "show us how fragrances are made". We didn't see how they were made, but they honestly smelled really good. These "tours" always end with the salesman trying to sell you something at an exhorbitant price (it happened to us in later tours too, but we were more assertive and didn't buy into them). This was the case here, and after he finished his presentation we were basically expected to buy some of the fragrances. We ended up spending $180 for a case of four fragrances. Again, you could just refuse, but the situation makes it really difficult: you're in a different country, in a strange shop with strangers, and the tour guide was in on it. Getting out of this situation is difficult. Anyway, this wouldn't be as bad if we actually got what we paid for. After getting to our hotel, we inspected the bottles (which are packed without you being present) and they were not what we bought. They were very watered down, super diluted oils. If you end up buying these, please make the person pour from the presentation bottles in front of you so you're sure you're getting what you paid for. Also, again, you can outright refuse, but it is understandable if it is hard for you. I just wanted to give light to a scam that some people are bound to encounter. That's the reason of my bad score. We trusted our guide because she was very helpful in the beginning. We learned from this experience and were more alert and assertive in future tours (read my other review from the Memphis, Saqqara and Giza Pyramids/Sphinx tour).

This is an excellent tour and I highly recommend it …. and in saying this I also appreciate that the guide who is assigned to you makes the day. Our guide Mahmoud Ismail was no exception and our driver Kareem equally attentive! Although I have visited Cairo many many times on business over these past 20 years I had never visited Old Cairo and It’s many churches and this was very special … seeing the cave that Mary, Joseph and Jesus had lived in during their three years in Egypt Similarly it had been 20 years since I last visited the Citadel and Mosque and our guide Mahmoud, once again, brought it all to life. I was equally delighted with his knowledge of all matters relating to Christianity Nothing was too much for Mahmoud and we also enjoyed an excellent lunch arranged by the tour operator Viator

This was a wonderful tour of Islamic and Coptic Cairo! My guide Ola was so knowledgeable and hospitable. She provided so much detail about the history of each site and Cairo in general. The mosques and churches are amazingly beautiful! It was very convenient as Ziko picked me up at my hotel and provided all the transportation between the sites. I highly recommend this tour and Ola as a guide! Also, I am a solo female traveler and felt very comfortable on this private tour.

El guía nos recogió a tiempo, y el vehículo estaba bien y limpio. Nos dieron una botella de agua a cada uno. Primero visitamos la mezquita de Mohammed y entramos (hay que pagar por unos plásticos para los zapatos y eso no está incluido en el tour). Luego se supone que veríamos la mezquita del sultán, pero se ve desde la puerta, ni siquiera entras. La mezquita contigua a la del sultán estaba cerrada y no se vio nada de la tumba que está adentro (que también está anunciada en el tour). Luego fuimos al Coptic cairo, entramos a 3 iglesias. La sinagoga Ben Ezra tampoco se podía entrar, solo se veía desde una reja. Luego no fuimos al bazar famoso en el centro, sino a tiendas con las que tienen convenio los guías que son exageradamente caras con respecto a lo que se encuentra en otras tiendas (por dar un ejemplo, en una tienda nos cobraron 5 dólares por una pirámide pequeña supuestamente hecha a mano, y luego fuimos por nuestra cuenta a un gift shop y nos vendieron 3 pirámides de diferentes tamaños por menos de 1 dólar con el exacto mismo diseño). El guía no nos contó mucho de datos históricos, realmente es más como un acompañante.
