Known in Arabic as Abu Al Hol (Father of Terror), this sculpture of a man with the haunches of a lion was dubbed the Sphinx by the ancient Greeks because it resembled their mythical winged monster who set riddles and killed anyone unable to answer them. A geological survey has shown that it was most likely carved from the bedrock at the bottom of the causeway during Khafre’s reign, so it probably portrays his features.

Definitely recommend!
Absolutely amazing experience with Ali. Everything was sorted from travel to the actual experiences. Communication was timely via whatsapp but definitely the highlight was Ali with his knowledge of Ancient Egypt and his customer-oriented approach. Would definitely recommend.

Ali fantastic tour guide, so very knowledgable and helpful! Absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish. Excellent communication prior to the trip, pick up etc! Covered all major tourist attractions and more, including he pyramids, sphinx, Egyptian museum, Nile cruise, camel ride! Lovely lunch too and courtesy refreshments too! All ensures we had the best photo opportunities of the day! Highly recommend this trip and Ali as a guide!

Great day at the pyramids!
We had the best day at the pyramids, as a couple we were concerned about the best way to do this (group tour or with the hotel) I booked with Ahmed and it was amazing! The whole day went so smoothly, the taxi drivers were lovely and prompt, flights all sorted and our guide Shimaa was extremely knowledgeable. We went to the pyramids, the Nile, the Egyptian museum and an essential oils shop. Nothing was too much trouble! Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone ☺️

Exceptional Private Day Trip to Cairo with Wonders of Egypt Tours: A Seamless, Fantastic Experience!
We recently took a one-day trip to Cairo from Sharm El Sheikh with Wonders of Egypt Tours, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. This private tour package included entry to the Giza Pyramids Plateau, The Egyptian Museum, the Great Sphinx, a 30-minute Felucca ride on the Nile, round-trip domestic flights, an air-conditioned vehicle with hotel transfers, a private Egyptologist guide, lunch, and bottled water. Booking, Price, and Value We had read reviews about potential last-minute price changes, and we did experience one. Since we booked only three days in advance, we were informed that the plane tickets had become very expensive, requiring an additional payment of £40 per person. Crucially, Wonders of Egypt Tours immediately gave us the option of a full refund if this was not acceptable. We opted to pay and proceed, and we were later told we had secured literally the last two seats on a fully booked flight. While the price adjustment was unexpected, the transparency and refund offer were appreciated. In the end, we felt the value for money was outstanding. The total cost was still cheaper than what a major carrier like EasyJet was offering for a large-group bus tour, and the quality of this private, very comfortable experience was incomparable. Seamless Transportation and Professional Drivers Our day began perfectly with a sharp and timely pickup from our Sharm El Sheikh hotel by our driver, Rohim Travel (who drove us to the airport and back upon our return). The internal flight process was quick and smooth. Upon landing in Cairo, we were greeted by our dedicated Cairo driver, Ahmed Ragab. Traveling in Cairo can be hectic, but Ahmed provided an incredibly professional, comfortable, and smooth ride all day. There were no abrupt movements or excessive honking, which was a huge relief in the busy city traffic. He was always patiently waiting for us after each attraction and ensured we made it to the airport comfortably for our return flight. The Magnificent Guide: Ali The highlight of our tour was definitely our private Egyptologist guide, Ali. Ali is profoundly passionate and proud of Egyptian history, making every moment insightful and engaging. He meticulously managed the day, ensuring the perfect amount of time at each site. Our itinerary was perfectly paced: the Egyptian Museum, the Felucca on the Nile, a good lunch, the Pyramids, and finally the Sphinx. His preparation was flawless. Ali also went above and beyond to enhance our experience: * He offered great suggestions for photos and even took fantastic pictures of us at the best spots and in fun poses without us even having to ask! * He took us to some fascinating local spots, including Merit Papyrus (where Moises explained the process in Spanish!), Heaven Essence for aromatherapy and healing oils (where Fatima attended us in Spanish), and an Egypt Spices shop (where Shu'a also spoke Spanish). These stops were interesting cultural additions, and while we had the opportunity to buy, there was absolutely no pressure to do so. The Verdict We are extremely happy we chose this private tour with Wonders of Egypt Tours. Seeing the large bus groups struggling to move around confirmed we made the right choice—we saw so much more and truly enjoyed the entire day. The close relationship we established with our guide Ali and our drivers Ahmed and Rohim Travel made the experience feel personal and incredibly smooth. If you are looking for an efficient, highly personalized, and very comfortable way to see the best of Cairo in a day, we highly recommend Wonders of Egypt Tours. The service was top-tier, and the value truly felt cheap for the quality delivered.

Great tour and company
Highly recommend this tour, the driver Mohamed and tour guide Shahd were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Shahd knew an immense knowledge of Egyptology and was amazing. Mohamed was so curious and friendly and could not do enough for us. It is a long day but worth every minute. Great communication with the other Mahammad . When organising the trip. Never failed to answer questions and messages. If going to see the Giza pyramids from Sharm this is the company.

A Wonder of a Trip
From start to finish our guide Ali was so welcoming and knowledgeable. We began the day by visiting the Egyptian Museum, which took our breath away, and to see Tutankhamen's mask and coffin amongst everything else was something we will never forget. It's been a dream for my wife to visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx since she was young, and to finally be able to say we've been is something that's still sinking in. It was absolutely amazing. We also enjoyed the boat ride down the Nile and lunch at a nice local restaurant, which was also included. We fully recommend this tour and you won't get a better guide than Ali, a lovely guy but so helpful and full of knowledge. Perfect day.
