    Colossi of Memnon are a pair of massive stone statues located on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor, Egypt. They are among the most famous and iconic landmarks in the area. The Colossi of Memnon depict Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned during the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. The statues originally stood at the entrance of Amenhotep III's mortuary temple, which has since been mostly destroyed. Each statue is about 18 meters (60 feet) tall and weighs around 720 tons. These statues are made of quartzite sandstone and are intricately carved, depicting the pharaoh seated on a throne with his hands resting on his knees. Originally, the statues were further adorned with colorful paint, although most of it has faded over time.

A trip full of surprises

This is a trip full of surprises. Everything is well arranged, the driver communicates smoothly, and the recommended food is very delicious. It is a trustworthy team. The Tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings is a well-preserved site with murals that is worth seeing. The Tomb of Neterfila in the Valley of the Queens is a magical site with everything well preserved and beautiful murals.

Lovely and historical city

Mohamed is an amazing guide! Made us feel very comfortable during the tour. We had a very relaxing as we explored these amazing sites in Luxor .
