Feel like a VIP
Feel like a VIP Before arriving in Hurghada we had looked at trips to Luxor, as there are many wonders to visit there and we wanted an unforgettable experience. Today we have certainly had the most memorable and special trip with a great team. We chose this particular trip as it was private, with just my husband and I as guests. It was worth every penny to feel like VIPs. From the moment we met Ahmed we knew we were going to be very very well looked after. We met him just before 5am in our hotel lobby, where we collected our hotels breakfast boxes. We drove for a while from our hotel in Sahl Hasheesh in the newest of mini vans, which had usb points for charging our phones. It was spacious and comfortable with even a small fridge which had ice cold water. Ahmed had a flask of hot coffee and juice waiting for us and snacks. We did not want for anything. We met our second driver, Hosny an extremely friendly and happy fella he was a joy to meet. His skilled driving ensured we made it to our first stop in good time We then met our English speaking guide Said, a remarkable man in his knowledge of Luxor. He explained all the areas we were seeing in amazing detail and made it very interesting too. Temples of Karnak, such a feast for the eyes, the stories behind this area that Said spoke and taught about were fascinating. Lunch at a restaurant on the Nile had a great variety and as we were the first there we felt privileged and pretty much alone to enjoy our lunch. We chose to do the extra option of cruising along the Nile in a quaint boat, again, as we were on a private tour, this was also private. It was very relaxing with a beautiful ambience and Said pointed out all of the interesting areas to us to look at. Valley of the Kings, not enough words could do this justice. Said picked our 3 tombs with most interest and he wasn't wrong. All are magical with such detailed hieroglyphs. We paid the extra fee direct to the entrance via Said, to visit King Tut as we were there, although we knew not much to see, as all the shiny stuff is in Cairo, we felt it was well worth it, as we had learned about him in school and some spectacular hieroglyphs on the wall with vivid colours and of course mummy of Tut. Temple of queen hatshepsut an amazing tale, again expertly told by Said. At the end the landscape with mountains and then looking back towards Luxor was outstanding. Finally off to the Colossi Memnon we could not imagine how enormous these two figures would be. We bet they were so intimidating to visitors back when the temple still stood so long ago. Our journey home with lovely Hosny went smoothly and its really quite something to pass through the towns and villages seeing how real life is here. As mentioned before, if you are thinking of doing a trip to Luxor then Ramashka are your people, and private is simply the best. At school when we studied about Egypt (wayyyy back on the 1970's) never did we imagine that one day we would be on the River Nile and visiting the Temples and Tombs and learning even more from Said. Thank you Ahmed, Said and Hosny. We hope to see you again soon and thank you for making our trip both magical, interesting and very VIP. Andy and Cheryl
