The actual temple & the mini souk outside, along with the perfumery which wasn't part of our initial itinerary. Be prepared for a bumpy ride though due to the roads!

As per requested time will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and drive to the south of Aswan which is around 3hrs drive to enjoy Abu Simbel day tour from Aswan by air-conditioned vehicle. The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the new Kingdom. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II.The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramesses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God together as one. Spend around 3 hours there then take the way back to Aswan.

Not a great experience!
The car & the drivers were good but the guide was very mediocre & she duped us by grossly overcharging for lunch. Overall it was not a great experience.

Efficient, friendly and knowledgeable
Our tour guide arrived earlier and very efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. We got extra time to join another private tour to Island of Philae during the same time which is a great bonus to us.

Good tour, bad guide
Tour itself is good - car is nice, driver is good, and tour guide is knowledgeable and prepared. But, more so than any other guide I’ve had, he will try to pressure you over and over again to buy overpriced goods at the shops he shows you once back in Aswan. Asking once if you’d like to buy something and bartering is normal. He will ask you over and over again, trying to pressure you, making the situation very uncomfortable and making for a bad ending to a good tour.

Do not miss the sound and light show.
Abu Simbel is one of the Temples, in my opinion, not to be missed despite the price of the trip. 150 € / person. Problem c is that there are a lot of people around 9 am because ALL buses, private Taxis arrive at the same time. Departure from Aswan at 5:30.... 3 hours drive.You have to go through tourism professionals because there is a checkpoint to get out of town and your professional guide knows how to do for papers. If you can sleep there and fly the next day to Aswan. The night show is beautiful and there are very few people. You'll take beautiful pictures at the end. Ticket price 500 LE / person ( about 17 €) but do not hesitate if you can. You will find tickets at the entrance of the site or at your accommodation. It lasts about 45 minutes.

Abu Simbal private tour
This was better than our ship tour for a third of the price. The guide gave us a lot of information about Egypt on our ride from Aswan.

less rush at the temples would have been better as it was still early in the day
We were rushed on the site and only got to spend 1h on the temples. There was no reason to be rushed and I am not sure why it was the case.
