Great Tour

We had a very good Nile Cruise experience with Egypt Knight tours. Mahmud supported us right from the day we landed in Aswan to the night when we left Luxor going above and beyond, such a reliable person. the guides that were given to us were great, very knowledgeable especially Hassan and Sam.

Amazing experience on the Nile

Amazing organised trip. Nice cruise (room confortable, rooftop great and rich buffet) BUT the best was the organisation and our guide Magdi; he explained us all - from the cruise till the temples, helped us with the local people and left us the necessary privacy to enjoy the tour. The tour was in Deutsch!! Obviously not aaaallll was perfect, but the agency tryed to solve asap every small problem. Compliments!

Excellent experience with your guide Hani

We had an excellent 4d/3n cruise along the Nile, an iconic once in a lifetime experience. Communication with the company was perfect. Our guide Hani was waiting for us at the train station with a private car and driver and we went straight to check out day 1 sights. We were surprised that it was just the two of us with the guide for the whole 4 days. It seems you just get assigned randomly to a cruise boat, as we didn’t know the name until we were aboard. Ours was called Magic 2, which had very clean spacious rooms with huge windows for watching the day to day of the river. The staff were friendly and worked very hard. The only negative of Magic 2 would be that the food had little diversity. Our guide Hani was incredible. An amazing Egyptologist with perfect English. There was not one question about ancient Egypt that he could not answer in great depth. All transport to sights was on time and included, as were all entrance tickets. Abu Simbel was included as a group tour with a different guide, but you can pay more for private. It goes without saying that the archaeological sites are beyond belief. A truly memorable experience.

Fantastic experience!

We went on this trip from 4 Oct to 7 Oct 2023. Hani pick us up in the Nubian village, Aswan and immediately started giving information and explaining things to us. His English is very good. We went to High dam and there after to the first temple. He keeps you safe and advises you on how to communicate with locals. This is surprisingly necessary as they do over charge and over hassle foreigners. I would suggest learning simple words to interact (thank you, yes, no, hello) it really helps. This package is all inclusive for entrance fees to every temple and transport to the temple. This is once again an amazing idea, as we skipped a lot of ques! Please note the last day's tours in Luxor is LONG. Wear comfortable shoes and sunblock. There are like 5 stops. The boat is much better than I expected having read through some of these reviews. It is not 5 stars. The rooms do like somewhat like the pictures except we had below deck rooms. So we could see above the water line but we could not open the windows. I would suggest taking wet wipes with as most public toilets don't have toilet paper but added bonus we 'washed' our room floor as it seemed a bit sticky. Drinks on the boat was about 3 times more than what you pay at the local shops and the fridge in the room does not work. There is no WIFI on the boat however you can buy a sim card with a data plan. You can also do this at the airport. I think it may be cheaper but I do not know. The boat does not leave on the first night. Technically you are only moving one night of the 3. First night in Aswan, Second night moving to Edfu and Third night you are in Luxor. The views are stunning and the pool was nice and cool so you actually cool down. Food was good and options provided for vegetarians as well. The country is hot, make sure to think your outfits through as you can easily burn or dehydrate. TIPS... everyone will ask for a tip. It is not necessary, nor is it a right. When I say everyone, I mean everyone. Children, vendors, security, porters, police, taxis... everyone. I heard of a fellow passenger being charged 100 Egyptian for assistance to cross the road (obviously did not pay). So BE careful! I want to thank Hani for going with us on this trip and for answering our questions. He is friendly, informative and protective.

Response to Abu Simbel Nile River 3-Night Cruise

Thank you for your help. Thank you for your reply regarding the "Abu Simbel Nile River 3-night cruise" that I submitted. I was unable to reply directly to that, so I will post my response here. First, regarding the Japanese guide. You stated that we should have understood that the tour itself does not originally have a Japanese guide. Of course, I was aware of that, which is why I inquired whether Japanese was possible "before making the reservation". The reply at that time suggested that it was "possible", which is probably the cause of the misunderstanding in the first place. If you had replied at that time that "there is a possibility that we will not find it even if we look for it", I would not have booked your tour in the first place. This is one of the reasons for the negative rating this time. Also, regarding the perfume souvenir shop, I'm sure the guide did explain that we did not need to stop by the store or that we did not need to buy anything. However, at that time, it was also explained that we could not enter because our room on the cruise ship was not yet ready, so we decided to go to a souvenir shop to kill time since we would have to wait even if we went to the cruise ship. I had no intention of buying anything in the first place, and I thought I could just refuse, so there was no problem at this point. However, I never imagined that I would be forced to buy something while being held captive. The fear I felt at that time is difficult to convey to those who have never experienced it, but it was considerable. Who could have predicted something like this would happen in advance? Or was it that this kind of purchasing style was normal in Egypt and we just had no common sense? If that is the case, it can't be helped, it's our fault. They replied that the tip was a separate charge and that it should have been explained in the tour description. We understand that the tip is a separate charge, and we don't have a problem with that in itself. We are saying that the "market price" of the tip is strange. The problem is that they "demand" 3 to 5 times the amount of tipping in other countries where there is a tipping culture. However, as I have already written in my review, I think the tipping would have been the same even if I had participated in another tour, not just your tour. Since it is not subject to evaluation, I will not mention it any further. Lastly, since there were no reviews about the cruise ship or the transfer itself, I will write it here. The food was average and delicious. However, drinks were charged separately, and although I looked at the menu, they were too expensive so I never used them. (Soft drinks were about 5 times the market price. I don't drink alcohol so I don't know.) Also, they just put plastic bottles of soft drinks on the table and poured them into glasses. I think it was probably at room temperature, so even if I had ordered it, it probably wouldn't have tasted good at all. The room wasn't very spacious, but since we were staying for 3 nights it wasn't a problem. The room itself was cleaner than I expected. I had heard that some ships don't have refrigerators, but our ship had one, which was good. Before joining the cruise ship, I bought drinks for 3 days and kept them in the refrigerator. I think future participants should do the same. Also, the housekeeping staff on the cruise ship were very helpful. I paid them more tips than usual. I don't have any problems with this kind of tip. The transfer was quite normal. However, the "air conditioning" in the car wasn't very effective. I haven't been on the train for long periods of time so it wasn't that bad, but it's a hot country so it might be better to turn it up a bit more. That's it. Please note that if I select a tour I participated in from the drop-down list, I would not be able to post this, so I have intentionally chosen "Not included."

A complex mix of emotions coexists

First, I would like to give my complaints to the tour operator. Before booking the tour, I inquired with other tour companies whether it was possible to book a Japanese guide. This tour did not have a Japanese guide option, but I was told that it was possible for an additional fee ($50 per day). Most other tours were possible, but the payment methods other than the tour fee were complicated, and this tour was simple, with cash on site, so I booked this one. Immediately after booking, I also applied for a Japanese guide via message, but there was no response for more than 10 days, and when I finally received a reply to my re-inquiry, I was told that they could not prepare a Japanese guide and were looking for one. There were not many days until the tour, so I thought about canceling and booking another tour, but I believed that they were looking for one and waited without canceling. However, in the end, they said that they could not prepare one, and there were not many days left, so I gave up and accepted it. In the end, this was a mistake. The guide, Gamal, only spoke English, and was happy to talk to us through a translation app. Gamal himself was a great guide. The historical explanation of the ruins was extremely detailed, and the translation app was only about 50% accurate because the content was so complicated. However, I was able to understand about 60-70% of it with my limited English knowledge. However, not being able to communicate in the same language made it difficult to communicate on a daily basis, and I think Gamal was stressed out. I am very grateful that he continued to guide us under such circumstances. For both of us, we should have chosen a Japanese guide on another tour. This was also our fault, and we regret it. The tour was great, but there were two very disappointing points. The first was the perfume souvenir shop we were shown to on the first day, which was the worst part of the tour. The shop assistant showed us to a room where we were alone, and the door was closed. We were confined and given a purchase form and were forced to write what we wanted. We had no intention of purchasing anything, so we refused, but they kept pushing us to buy things over and over again, and to be honest, it was just terrifying. We were finally released because we stubbornly refused, but the two shop assistants were completely angry. I'm the one who should be angry. Because of my initial interaction with the tour company and the souvenir shop incident, I've given them a rating of minus 2. The second disappointing thing is the demand for tips from people directly and indirectly involved with the tour other than the guide. The guide gave us a quote, but I think the ratio of that amount to the cost of living was exorbitant. Also, when we checked out of the cruise ship, we were asked to put a tip in an envelope addressed to the cruise ship crew. It was the first time I'd ever been asked to tip someone I hadn't taken care of directly, so it was quite a shock. I thought it was a completely unnecessary tip. I don't think these tipping issues were specific to this tour company or guide, but would have been the same no matter which tour I chose. So, although I didn't include the tipping issue in my rating, I don't think I'll be visiting Egypt again. I think Japanese people are quite strict about tipping, so if they want to welcome Japanese tourists in the future, this is something they should change as a country.

We would have never thought we'd love it so much

We would have never imagined we'd love the cruise and trip so much. I'm personally a backpacker and I didn't like the idea of embarking into a cruise at all, but my husband was really into it, so I finally agreed. I asked him sorry in advance just in case I got frustrated and angry at any point of the cruise for feeling out of place or having to follow our guide and the crowd as a sheep. Nevertheless, our experience was far from what I had imagined and I (we) absolutely loved it. We started from Aswan to Luxor and we enjoyed all of its programme: we loved our boat (its delicious food, the attentive crew, our lovely room and its views to the Nile, the swimming pool...). We also loved how we could keep in contact with the organiser from even before the start of our trip, how flexible, understanding and helpful he was at all time. Of course, we were delighted by all the temples and visits, and we're completely sure we wouldn't have loved them so much if it hadn't been for Jimmy, our guide: a professional English speaking guide who had stories for every stone we found, a very caring person who we'd love to meet again in the future in next trips. Thank you for everything, heartfuly, to all the organisation, it has been a dream cruise.

Tour guide was excellent

The tour was overall very nice. The company and tour guide took care of us kindly. We visited many places smoothly with full explanation. Hany, our guide was so knowledgeable. He answers to any questions we asked, and was flexible to make our tour smooth. Our room and restaurants in the cruise were also nice. We enjoyed rooftop pool after tour in heat. The only thing I felt uncomfortable was the bus to Ab Simbel. Our space was too small and it drove so fast that I felt unsafe and got car sick.
