Tour with Khaled

The staff was super nice. You don't have to think about anything. Huge compliments to the tour guide Khaled al Saadi for his great knowledge, enthusiasm and sense of humor as well as his admirable knowledge of topics outside of ancient Egypt!

Un crucero, la mejor opción para conocer Egipto.

La atención fue buena, excelente comunicación desde antes de la fecha de encuentro , bien los traslados. Durante el crucero todo bien en general, sin embargo, nuestra habitación tuvo un problema con el aire acondicionado y no lograban arreglarlo , no enfriaba lo suficiente, pero los de mantenimiento acudieron rápido a arreglarlo , sin embargo no quedó jajaj El lunch para el viaje a Abusimbel, dejó mucho que desear, tres panes con una rebanada de queso y nada más, la fruta bien , sin embargo todo iba empacado por separado en charolas de unicel , lo que genera mucha basura innecesaria. Nuestro guía muy organizado, sin embargo en varias ocasiones parecía que regañaba y no resolvía las dudas sobre logística cuando estaba estresado. Considero que un crucero es la mejor opción para lograr visitar los lugares de interés.

Unique experience. Temples and more!

A great experience. So much to see and do with optional tours too. On the first day we visited a Nubian village which wasn't in our programme. I got to swim in the Nile and hold a crocodile! Mina was our guide who is bursting with energy. He took good care of us and was a fountain of knowledge as well as giving us a lot of practical advice. On board of the ship, the food was great, the staff were all very friendly, and my room was clean. Every day I would receive a surprise as to how the towels were arranged on my bed! The temples were incredible. My only slight grumble, which is why this trip didn't get 5 stars, is down to the organisation of the boats. Perhaps the Egyptian tourism board could look into this? 50ish boats doing exactly the same programme, meant queuing and crowded spaces and then a race to get to the locks. There was pressure to get to each monument quickly, which shortened free time, so that you couldn't properly absorb and appreciate each place. Apart from that. I can thoroughly recommend this trip. Thank you Mina and everyone. I've made some good friends.

experiencia realmente inolvidable de principio a fin

Todo superó mis expectativas, especialmente la belleza de los paisajes y la riqueza histórica de cada lugar visitado. Las excursiones estuvieron muy bien organizadas, lo que nos permitió descubrir algunos de los sitios más fascinantes de Egipto de una manera cómoda y sin preocupaciones. Una mención especial merece nuestro guía, Mina, quien hizo que la experiencia fuera aún más memorable. Fue muy profesional, atento y siempre disponible para ayudar en todo también en necesidades extras. Sus explicaciones eran claras, interesantes y llenas de pasión, logrando que la historia cobrara vida en cada lugar que visitábamos. Navegar por el Nilo mientras se contemplan los paisajes es simplemente mágico: una experiencia tranquila, hermosa y única. Recomendaría este crucero sin dudarlo a cualquiera que busque una combinación perfecta de cultura, historia y relajación. Sin duda volvería a repetirlo, y estoy muy agradecido con Mina por haber hecho este viaje tan especial

Overall a good experience!

Sights: it was always first some time information from the guide, then free time to explore. We had a small group of 9 persons with 1 guide. In general it was enough time to see everything calmly. The sights were very crowded. But I our guide Khaled did a really good job managing everything. The buses to pick us up from the boat where on time, he always had the tickets in advance, he gave us good tips how to walk around in the free time. The informational part I have to say was difficult at times. Our guide focused more on insights about general life back then, building material and pharaos to give an overview. If you are more interested about specific elements of the tempels/ buildings you’d probably have to ask him directly or do your own research. Communicating with or understanding the guide was often difficult because of the crowds and english being neither the guides nor ours native language. Food: Sadly there was only 1 evening with Egyptian Food- it was really delicious with koshari, falafel, mussaka, potatoes. The food on the other days was okay for meat eaters, but for vegetarians difficult (rice and maybe some vegetables, few times some beans), we bought some nuts and protein bars in advance. Most of the food was okay, but you had to be a bit careful. My father, who was eating meat, got a sick stomach on the last day and felt bad for 4-5 days, probably from the boat but not completely sure. Also my sister, my mum and I (vegetarian) stopped to eat some foods from the buffet and were very careful to check first what we are eating every time. We realized that you should never eat something that you already saw on the buffet at the meal before. There were bad vegetables one time, something like cheese börek and also a desert. And we knew how they should have tasted, because we ate them at the buffet before when they were fresh and good. The packages that we got when we were not at the boat for a trip (e.g. Abu simbel) were not amazing with dry bread and dry cheap cheese. Money and tips: When we entered the boat, our guide welcomed us and we had to pay all the fees and also a tip for the people working on the boat, so nobody on the boat would ask us for a tip again and the tips are shared fairly. In Egypt is very normal (esp for tourists) to tip everyone for everything they do. We m are very happy that it is just organized like this, because its less stress during the trip. Later we realized we would have liked to tip at the end to know what service we actually tip for, we dont know if that is also possible. Our group made 3 guided stops for shopping: spices, parfum and statues, we suspect guides get money for either every purchase there or general visit. The prices where more expensive than the souks and the visists were a little rushed due to the full schedule. At the spices shop el Hussein herbs we also think that they tricked us by telling a lower price first and then selling to my parents at a higher price. But my mom was very unsure about how the interaction happened exactly, so she didn't want to fight about it, especially in holidays. And as Germans we are not used to this kind of haggling over prices and she didn't want to be rude. Khaled (the guide) offered to help her, if she wanted to get money back! Balloon: was cancelled because of strong wind. We got 50€ back for 2 persons each. (So 4 persons 100€) Guide and staff: Khaled organized really well, was very very nice and guided us well through tourist traps at tempels and the temples in general. He also always told us to let him know every worry or problem we had so he could help us. The day before we entered the boat my credit card was taken from the cash machine. In the morning when we got picked up, Khaled took care that someone from the crew took me to the bank to get back my card, it was no problem and I was very happy about it! He also referred us to the right address for our refund from the cancelled ballon. All the staff on the boat was really very nice aswell! In total: it was a decent experience. It just is about very crowded sights and we tried to find a not very expensive way to see them with some guidance. And that is exactly what we've got. We are happy that we did it, don't know if we would need to do it again necessarily but it was still nice enough that we were a little sad to leave the boat on the last day!
