Eindrucksvolle Tour ohne Touristenansturm

This day trip to Saqqara,...

This day trip to Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis was an outstanding experience and a perfect complement to our time in Egypt. The sites themselves are extraordinary, but what truly made the day memorable was our tour guide, Mira. From the start, Mira was warm, friendly, and extremely professional. She immediately put us at ease and set the tone for a well-paced and thoughtfully organized day. Her knowledge of ancient Egyptian history was impressive, and she explained the history in a clear, engaging way that made the sites come alive rather than feel overwhelming. At Saqqara, she provided excellent context around the Step Pyramid of Djoser and the evolution of pyramid construction, which really helped us understand why this site is so historically important. At Dahshur, Mira took the time to explain the significance of the Bent and Red Pyramids and how they represent key architectural breakthroughs. She was patient, attentive to our comfort, and flexible with timing, ensuring we never felt rushed despite the amount we covered. The visit to Memphis was brief but well framed, adding an important historical layer to the overall story of ancient Egypt. What stood out most was Mira’s genuine enthusiasm and approachable style. She encouraged questions, shared interesting details beyond the standard script, and was always attentive to our pace, especially given the sun and walking involved. There was no pressure to shop or divert the itinerary, which we really appreciated. Overall, this was a seamless, informative, and thoroughly enjoyable day. If you are looking to explore Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis in a meaningful way, I highly recommend this tour - and especially Mira as a guide. A truly five-star experience from start to finish.

Nader is the best

Nader was a great tour guide. He took time to explain all about Giza, Dahshor, & Saqqara pyramids. He also explained a lot about ancient Egyptian kings & their civilizations. He has very good knowledge about his job. He is also one of the best photographer we have experienced.

Amazing day trip

The saqqara pyramids were so much cooler than the Giza ones. Hadeer was an amazing guide and gave me time to explore on my own which I appreciated as well as took photos for me which is hard as a solo traveler.

Total Saqqara

It was a wonderful experience despite starting more than 1 hour late caused by a driver who never showed up. Saqqara was worth the wait and our guide, Mohamed Ramadan, was very active and explained many interesting things. So five points for him. The car and the new driver Ayman were perfect too.

Saqqara Pyramids, Memphis and Dahshur Pyramids - An Awesome Tour

We had a great time on our tour. Learning of the history of the Saqqara & Dahshur pyramids was an added bonus to our trip to Egypt. We learned these were the first pyramids (stepped & bent) built before the famous pyramids in Giza. We fulfilled our dream to go inside a pyramid, which was the Red Pyramid. Be forewarned… it gets hot inside! If you visit the Khufu pyramid in Giza, you ascend to the burial chamber vs a descent in the Red Pyramid. Even though the Saqqara & Dahshur pyramids are smaller than the Giza pyramids, it is still worth it to see these older pyramids. It completes the history of the development of pyramids. Memphis was a bit underwhelming. It is an open air museum with a huge statue of Ramses II & other smaller statues located through the grounds. To see & stand beside the Ramses statue, blows you away at how skilled the Egyptians were. Our guide, Ibrahim Allam, & our driver, Usama, were amazing. Ibrahim has extensive knowledge of the places we visited. He was professional, friendly & likeable. He gave us ample free time to explore. When we told him we had a fair bit of knowledge of Egyptian history, he was happy to tweak his usual history facts for us because we wanted to learn more in-depth history. He took unique photos of us, which made our day fun. He took us to a good restaurant for lunch. Usama, our driver, handled the chaotic Cairo traffic with easy. He patiently waited for us during our stay at each sight and quickly brought the car to us after we were finished. I highly recommend this tour & Ibrahim as your guide. He made the tour an enjoyable experience.
