Incredible tour - Mariam made it special
We had an absolutely fantastic experience visiting the pyramids with Mariam, our private guide. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable about ancient Egypt, sharing fascinating stories and insights, but also such a warm and lovely person that spending the day with her was a true pleasure. We came away having learned so much and enjoyed every moment. We would highly recommend her to anyone visiting.

Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
Our guide, Mahmoud, and driver, Abdo, were both friendly and welcoming throughout the tour. Mahmoud stood out for his deep knowledge of Egyptian history and culture, and he was especially helpful with taking photos, making sure we captured every memorable moment.
The Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, were absolutely breathtaking and a must see for any visitor. Just as captivating, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) offers a beautifully curated glimpse into Egypt’s rich heritage, all within a sleek and modern space.

What an absolutely AMAZING day! Dina and Mahmoud are a dream team!
Where do I start??
My husband and I had an AWESOME day with Dina. Communication beforehand was also fantastic and we could tell she was reliable.
We picked up by Mahmoud, our friendly driver (who kept us topped up with fresh water waiting for us in the car throughout the day - thank you!) and he and Dina made us feel as ease straight away. Dina's level of knowledge is outstanding, but the best part was that she never talked 'at' us - she was engaging whilst being informative, which is a real skill.
Dina paired us up with a lovely friendly camel owner (the ride was an amazing experience) and she was very clear when explaining to us that we were under no obligation to tip the owner, and that we should make our own decision based on how we felt. She also steered us away from engaging with the endless number of vendors and gave us good advice to keep walking. There was clearly no hidden agenda, and we really appreciated Dina's transparency.
The pace of the day was very laid back, and the three of us chatted a lot throughout. We made a stop at Ladurée at our request - Dina was happy to work around us, offering suggestions but never being pushy. She also took some really fantastic photos of us at various points around the pyramid site and we had so many fun moments that made us laugh and smile.
The GEM follwed by a delicious Egyptian lunch was a perfect way to end to the day, and we were collected promptly by Mahmoud and taken back to the hotel. My husband and I honestly felt like we'd made new friends by the end of the day.
Thank you so much, Dina for being so patient and professional. You answered all of our questions with just the right level of detail and we had so much fun with you. Massive thank you to Mahmoud for a smooth day and for making the trip back to the hotel to return the walking boots that I forgot in the back of the car!
We'll be sure to keep in touch 😃

Take an early start time and bring a fan!
Our guide Habeba and driver picked us up from our hotel near the pyramid entrance gate. Once inside we had a walking tour with some history of the site. Habeba was very helpful in assisting with pictures and posed us in a way to capture the essence of the site. We were able to touch the Great pyramid which in itself is an experience.
The grand museum is massive and due to its size, we had an abbreviated visit getting some of their high elements. If you are someone who desires to fully explore the museum and exhibits, I would recommend a separate standalone Grand museum tour. The tour package included a stop at a papyrus and essential oil site where we received a quick demonstration of how papyrus paper is made. The essential oil site explained the importance of perfume oils in Egypt. Both included sales pitch for purchase.
We did the 9 am tour so it was not overly crowded and were able to capture some good pictures. I highly recommend sensible shoes as you will be walking over rocks, gravel, and dirt. We chose the traditional lunch of kushari at a small cafe. If you are someone who gets hot easily or sweats a lot, I recommend you bring a fan! Even with starting at 9 a.m., it was still extremely hot with the high heat index.
