  1. The Karnak Temple
    2 heures

  3. Valley of the Kings
    2 heures

  4. Temple of Hatshepsut
    1 heure

  5. Colossi of Memnon
    30 minutes

Amazing Luxor

This was an amazing 2 day experience with our excellent guide Mahmoud NOUR. The trip has a fine balance of important sights covered in comfortable time, with the most knowledgeable guide Mahmoud NOUR, who was able to cover all of the history in an interesting and concise way and also gave us an insight to present day Egyptian life. Included were delicious local lunches and 5 star hotel accommodation overlooking the Nile. Of interest as well were the short side trips to learn about the making of papyrus paper, scented oils and alabaster carving. This tour was so much more than expected.

Outstanding Tour of Luxor

Mahmoud Nour was a fantastic tour guide that made our trip extra special. Besides the regular itinerary, he went out of his way to get us on a dawn balloon ride over the temples. Excellent knowledge of Egyptology and a really good guy. Highly recommend the tour and Mahmoud.

A superb trip exploring Luxor with an excellent tour guide, Mr. Mahmoud Nour

We had the remarkable tour in Luxor with an excellent private tour guide, Mr. Mahmoud Nour. He made our trip in Luxor extremely good and so memorable. I can’t say enough about our guide but let me try. He is a very knowledgeable person, genuine, generous, and professional. He is very flexible especially about the food that we requested or even adjust a bit of our schedule to make sure everything runs smooth. Apart from this, we’ve learned a lot about the history from him, many places we go see becomes eye-opening which I never thought my life will have a chance to see. His outstanding explanations added fun to our experience. The visits to the Temple of Karnak, Luxor Temple, The Temple of Hatshepsut, and Valley of the Kings were wonderfully organized and fascinating. Mr. Mahmoud always have tickets ready for us before the visits. We always felt safe, what truly impressive the most is how well he took care of us. I would say that he never mentioned about the tipping or force us to buy things we don’t want. You will feel comfortable with him. He is by far the best private tour guide I have traveled with. If you want to experience how Luxor truly means, you only have to take a trip with Mr. Mahmoud Nour. He do his job with love. I cannot recommend this guy highly enough!

Great experience ! Trustworthy agent !

Great experience in Luxor! We spent 2 nights in Luxor and truly enjoyed the time. Our wonderful tourist guide Ghada was helpful, enthusiastic and caring. She made sure to explain all the knowledge systematically before and while we visited the places. The trip to Banana island was a plus . Strongly recommend. Thanks Ghada !

Luxor and Giza Pyramids - Wow!

We worked with ETP to coordinate a 2 day tour for a group on the NCL Jade that went to Luxor by bus and then on to Cairo by plane and back to the ship in Safaga by plane and bus. It was a wonderful experience. The logistics were tricky but everything worked without a hitch. Well, almost. We had requested a tour group of 10 and ended up with a group of 30 and that is the reason for only 4 stars. But don’t let that stop you. Luxor and Giza are mind-blowing and ETP made use of every minute. The drive from the port to Luxor is about 3 hours but it is a mostly interesting drive. We had a quick lunch on a boat as we crossed the Nile to the West Bank (good enough lunch but eating a tricky meal in one’s lap is not my style). We visited 4 of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and Karnak Temples (a real highlight). We then flew to Cairo staying at Le Meridian at the airport (a very nice property). We got an early start to Giza and spent the morning with the pyramids. Wow! We had another box lunch as we headed to the airport for our return flight to the port. We naturally worried about getting to the ship on time but ETP does this trip regularly and it went flawlessly. We had security with us the entire time in Luxor and Cairo although we felt no need for them. The positives far and away out weigh the negatives but there were a couple. The communication on the group size got us off to a bad start. The guides spent time hawking items that there was very little interest in and the lunches could use additional consideration. Having gotten that off my chest, I would highly recommend this tour and tour group. An individual could not have pulled this off and the chance to see these sights is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am confident that everyone on our bus considers this one of the highlights of a remarkable cruise.

Worse company Viator contracts with Egypt Portal

We were so disappointed. We were not picked up where we were told, we finally were put on a bus to join our bus in Luxor 3 hours later. The tour we bought was supposed to be in a car and we were with 40 other people. Our guide Omar was wonderful. Other than that I don’t have anything positive to say. Too bad.

Amazing

Booked this trip having read other reviews. Wasn't disappointed. Our cruise ship was 3 hours late docking in Safaga but our driver Hassan was still waiting and easily identifiable. The car was spotless inside and out with good A/C. He put us at ease and delivered us safely to Karnack temple in Luxor where we met our brilliant guide Mahmoud. This guy is superb. His English is excellent, he has a vast knowledge of the area and its history and makes it so interesting. We avoided queues, there were lots of excellent photo stops and he provided small change for use of the toilets when required. Even though we were late arriving there was no rush and we still managed the full allotted times at each site by extending the day. We had a very tasty meal at a local restaurant consisting of soup, bread, beans, salad and chicken, lamb and kebabs. Luxor temple was all lit up during the evening but busy. We again avoided the queues and spent a couple of hours on site before being dropped off at The Winter Palace Hotel. It was clean, with large rooms and the staff very helpful. Mahmoud arranged for us to go on a balloon ride the next morning at 0530. We were picked up on time and soared above the Valley of the Queens for about 45 mins with 12 other balloons. It was so worth the extra cost if you get the chance you really should book this. Mahmoud and our driver collected us from the landing site and we then visited valley of the Kings going in several tombs. A visit to Hatshepsut and finally a lunch on the Nile of roast chicken, potatoes, salad and a tagine. We were the only occupants on the small boat made us feel quite special. What a brilliant day. We had pre booked our return journey to Hurghada at an extra cost Hassan then drove us the 4 hours back to the airport having helped us check that the flight etc was still on time. Gentlemen thank you

Good tour, bad hotel

The tour was fine, guide was good, security very alert, driver very competent. As a solo I paid approximately $800. & learned a couple paid only $450. The checkout from the hotel was very upsetting. I intended to return to my room after breakfast to learn that my suitcase & bag had been removed to the lobby-my favorite earrings were missing! I cannot give this tour a good review. I overpaid because I’m a single & my favorite earrings were taken(I did not discover this until it was too late to take this up with reception).

Fantastic tour..highly recommended

This was a fabulous tour! Motaz was our tour guide and he was amazing! Instead of boring us with endless details, he presented the history as a story and we really enjoyed it all and we retained more information than on any other tour we have been on. Motaz was truly passionate and so knowledgable about all the areas we visited. A driver picked us up at the port of Safaga and drove us the 4 hours to Luxor to meet up with Motaz. We visited the temple of Hatshepsut, then Valley of the Kings (visiting 4 tombs) then on to lunch which was delicious (especially the Babagansh). colossi of Memnon, and then to Ramses III temple which was amazing. We headed back across the River Nile and visited Luxor temple at night before being dropped at Sonset Saint George 5star hotel for the evening. Next morning we visited Luxor by day quickly and then spent the morning in Karnak ..again just unbelievable. Motaz helped us with great memorable pictures and so much interesting history…never pressuring us for time! Our driver Hussein as fabulous as well! Would highly recommend this agency and this guide for any visit to the region.
