Unforgettable Ancient Egyptian Experience with an Expert Guide
My lady and I went in December 2025 for a 5 day 4 night Nile Cruise with Private Guide from Luxor to Aswan. We had Omar as our guide, who was absolutely incredible!!
The booking phase:
Good communication with the travel agency where they gave us cruise options to fit our needs. We went with a Sonesta Star Goddess which was a higher tier ship with balconies. We highly recommend that ship due to its amazing food, staff, and overall experience! Luxor and Aswan Travel also booked our flights from Cairo > Luxor, Aswan > Cairo. All of this was laid out well and booked in due time.
The experience:
We were picked up at Luxor airport by a handler who brought us to our vehicle. The handler brought us to our guide Omar, who immediately had a great attitude and wonderful information. We didn’t know that the private guided tour was actually PRIVATE, we thought it meant a group type of scenario, but this was truly private. Omar expertly handled all of our trips, transfers, and guided us through the amazing Egyptian Temples. He had a ton of insight and knowledge, could read and interpret the hieroglyphs and walls. He’s an Egyptologist who has been guiding for 15+ years, he knows everyone and had truly seamless transfers the whole time. We were blessed to be handled by such a professional! Not to mention he is an Incredible photographer! The ship went to all of the major sites, so don’t worry about missing something! We recommend the 5 day 4 night trip to space out the trip a bit. The ship experience was perfect, coupled with an amazing guide, our trip was unforgettable! We will definitely recommend this to our friends, family, and you!

First time experience, but not the last!
My boyfriend and I went in December 2025 on a Luxor to Aswan 5 day Nile Cruise.
First- the booking process was super easy with Hany for tour operations. They were able to answer our questions and help us pick the right cruise for the timeframe and activities we wanted. They were able to book our flights to/from the cruise as well.
We were on the Sonesta Star Goddess and it was truly amazing! The rooms were clean, food was amazing and the staff were attentive and kind. Highly recommend this cruise line!! Also this was one of the few cruise ships we saw that had balconies. Major bonus when cruising down the Nile. Ahmad the manager made sure everything ran smoothly!
When we arrived in Luxor, we were greeted right away and meet up with our tour guide for the week, Omar.
We were not prepared for our entire trip to be private and were even more excited when it was. Omar was with us every step of the way. He offered expert knowledge during every excursion with additional learning tools! This was a bonus for us! Omar knew everyone and his timing was impeccable for getting transportation to/from places. We never waited! He truly made our entire week! His hospitality, friendliness and guidance made this a memorable trip! Thank You Omar!!
Highly recommend for any new travelers or anyone looking for an easy return back these amazing locations!

Expérience incroyable
Je recommande absolument cette entreprise et l'expérience à tout le monde! Ils étaient si serviables et réactifs pour faire de ce voyage un merveilleux. Le bateau de croisière était super, la nourriture incroyable, et l'équipage super attentif! Incredible Guide & Wonderful Experience!
We had an amazing 4-day experience in Egypt with our guide, Mohamed. He is an exceptional Egyptologist—knowledgeable, patient, and fantastic with my very curious kids. He answered every single question with enthusiasm and made history come alive for all of us.
Mohamed was also incredibly flexible and attentive to our family’s needs, which made the entire trip smooth and enjoyable. The cruise itself was perfect for our family, but having Mohamed with us truly made it unforgettable.
Highly recommend him to anyone visiting Egypt!

Just amazing!
What an incredible experience! The cruise ship was great, the food amazing, and the crew super attentive! Our tour guide Mohamed (Mo) was so knowledgeable, personable and charismatic. He was a big part of making this experience so memorable. Absolutely would recommend Luxor and Aswan Travel and especially our lovely Mo!

Fantastic Experience beginning to end
Every single thing was outstanding. The boat was lovely, fun, clean and generally great. We could not have asked for a more friendly and knowledgeable guide in Muhammed. Felt like another member of our group! He guided us through markets as well as sites and saved everyone a bunch of headaches in the process. It was a sad time when we had to part ways but I fully intend to return with more friends in the near future. 11 out of 10 across the board. Hope to see you again soon Mu!

Ahmed Sliem - best travel guide
We had an absolutely wonderful experience on our 5-day Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Luxor and Aswan Travel, and our guide Ahmed Sliem made the trip truly unforgettable.
From the moment we met Ahmed, we felt completely at ease. His warm personality, friendly attitude, and great sense of humor made every day enjoyable. Ahmed went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, safe, and well taken care of throughout the journey. He handled every detail seamlessly so that all we had to do was relax and enjoy the stunning sights along the Nile.
What really stood out was Ahmed’s incredible knowledge and passion for Egypt’s history. At every temple and site, he brought the stories of ancient Egypt to life in a way that was both educational and entertaining. We learned so much thanks to his engaging explanations and the way he made history feel alive.
We cannot recommend Ahmed Sliem highly enough — his professionalism, kindness, and hospitality truly made our trip special. If you’re planning a Nile cruise or any trip through Egypt, make sure to ask for Ahmed. We would absolutely travel with him again!

Excellent way to see Egyptian Temples
We just finished a 5 day Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan including a visit to Abu Simbel. For some reason we were upgraded to the Blue Shadow cruise boat. This boat was really nice. When the boats are docked they all line up perpendicular to each other side by side such that we walked through several other boats to get to our boat. The Blue Shadow seemed nicer than the others. I was really happy with the boat i had low expectations going in. I would highly recommend selecting that boat.
We met our guide Ahmed Sliem II. He is a very nice gentleman. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He also has a fun personality, with plenty of jokes. He made sure we knew every detail of what to expect including time frames, tipping, and various scams to watch for. He gave us great information at each stop and then allowed us sufficient time to explore on our own, which we liked.
Ahmed arranged everything perfectly. We had no worries ever. He was very attentive and made sure we always had plenty of water, snacks, and at times ice cream. I’d highly recommend requesting Ahmed as your guide. You will not be disappointed.
Overall this is a great way to see the temples of Egypt. It’s a bit slower pace than we normally travel, but i wasn’t sure of a better way to do it.
Book the trip, you won’t regret it.
