Luxor Day

Ahmed the driver was so kind to us throughout the booking process, good communication with him. He is so accommodating then also when you meet him the bus is very clean and comfortable and he ensures you are ok, giving drinks and advising people of the heat and to wear sun cream, he even advises you of things that are a potential waste of money. A very good man, Thank you. Said the guide is so knowledgable and friendly, he also looks after the group very well he ensures that you have all the information but he is fast so that you can see a lot. The day is very good saw a lot of Egypt just on the bus, it felt like you saw lots of Egypt, including the tour where there is so much information and sights to see and pure history! Would defiantly recommend the day. You are looked after very well and learn a lot. Thank you Said and Ahmed

Luxor day trip from Hurghada

Excellent day, 5 star! Picked up VIP from our hotel, one of the first to arrive at Karnak complex thanks to our driver Ahmed. We also had a really knowledgeable well spoken English guide called Said. Both of these guys where excellent and I highly recommend you do this trip. Comfy footwear is a must as there is plenty of walking involved.

Too rushed to enjoy.

While the tour is great to fit a lot of things into one day it is a little rushed. They don't give you any idea of the pace we should be going until it's too late to enjoy everything. The drive to and from Luxor is like a formula one race. Racing in and out of traffic like a high speed chase. At least 100 times our driver slammed on the breaks so hard we nearly (and a few times did) fall out of our seats. We were the only English speaking people to book this particular tour on this particular day so we did receive a private shuttle and private guide which is a great plus, however it was pointed out so many times that we were made uncomfortable. Said our guide was very knowledgeable however it felt like ( even though it wasn't said) he was disappointed that we weren't interested in buying anything. Every tour guide on every tour brings you to shops where they receive a commission. When we don't buy anything they don't get any extra perks. The $10 per person for the Nile cruise became $25 "because it's a private boat" while I do appreciate the private tour, I don't appreciate having to pay extra when I didn't book a private tour. We were given ample time at our first stop (Karnak) but by the time we reached the 3rd tomb in the valley of the kings we were told we only have 5 minutes because we were running out of time. I was wearing sandles and the strap broke because i was trying to hurry myself. Instead of offering to help me find a place to buy slippers the tour just pushed on as though nothing happened. Luckily for me i am resoursful and used tweesers and a peice of elastic rope to temporarily fix the slipper but others might not have my resoursfulness. After the valley of the kings we went to the Temple of Queen Hatsheput. I could feel the tour was being rushed, and since we have no interest in the alabaster factory we asked to skip it to have a little more time to enjoy the temple. This request was not granted. We arrived to the factory and were given a brief explanation of how alabaster was refined and told we have 20 minutes to shop. Since we had no interest we used the bathroom and left. At the Colossi of Memnon we were also told we only had 5 minutes because if we did not reach the security checkpoint leaving Luxor we would have to wait until 6pm to leave. On the return drive my wife had to use the restroom badly, we had to beg the driver to allow us a stop. I understand there are very few facilities along the way but we are no strangers to having to use the bushes. After 15 minutes of pleading with the driver he finally pulled over. The drive back was no different than the drive to Luxor. The idea of this tour is nice but it's not great if you really want to experience the different locations. If you just want to be able to say "I've been there" then it's okay. If you want to be able to enjoy the experience you really need at least 2 days in Luxor. Lastly and probably the most annoying part of the experience is the way they ark forcibly for the review. First the guide before he disembark ask for us to write the review right now. I don't like to be rushed in my reviews. I like to be thorough, so I told them I need my passwords to log in to write the review. They insist that I should make a new account just to review them. I go thru thos same process while talking about reviews on TripAdvisor, Google, and Viator. After the guide leaves I have to have the same exact conversation with the driver. This is very uncomfortable. If I wasn't pressured and rushed this would have been 5 stars, but I was so here we are.

Must do trip

We booked a private tour to Luxor. Our driver was very friendly and chatty. We managed to avoid the coach trips which meant no queuing at any of our destinations. Our tour guide, Ali spoke very good English, he was so knowledgeable, you could tell he loved his job. Our driver was always on hand, we didn’t have to wait around for him to take us to the next destination. This was our first visit to Egypt and this trip was amazing. Brilliantly organised day with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Many thanks to you, Howard and Ali.

Visit Luxor! It’s incredible! 😁👍🏻

Said our guide was very informative and spoke English well. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He took us through the Valley of Kings, we then had lunch (included but pay your own drinks) then on to Karnak Temple and Matshepsut temple before going to an alabaster factory. We traveled in comfort in a clean and private mini van. Ahamed arrived on time to collect us and made it to the Valley of the Kings in good time (actually one of the first from Makadi). The minivan had WiFi and tV! Ahamed also had cold water and snacks for us. NB book directly through Ramashka tour and NOT through Viator. Alternatively via Trip advisor.
