A wonderful experience and a must-do excursion!

I would highly recommend this excursion. Ahmed our driver was prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable. We were collected early from our hotel in Hurghada and had a long drive to Luxor in a very comfortable car. Ahmed provided snacks, drinks, pillows and even a film or two on a big screen for entertainment. First stop was Karnak Temple where we met Mr Said who was our English speaking guide for the day. Due to Ahmed’s prompt arrival the temple was not that busy when we arrived. Said took us all around the temple and pointed out things of interest and gave us great history on the temple. What an amazing place! Then we had an early lunch in a very nice restaurant on the banks of the River Nile, again, beating the crowds. On to a small boat for a 45m tour down the river (which isn’t included in the price and is optional, but we all wanted to do it) and Mr Said pointed out various temples on the river banks. We had the opportunity to visit three tombs at the Valley of the Kings, and Said recommended three of the best which we took him up on. We were left to explore these alone and met up again after each for a bit more information from Said on the upcoming tomb. Stunning hieroglyphics and so much of the beautiful paint still vibrant. Hatshepsut Temple was next. What a wonderful site. Against Said was full of knowledge and a great guide. We had time to wander around ourselves and take in the beautiful view. From there we visited the Colossi of Memnon and an alabaster factory where you can learn about how this stone is carved. After this Ahmed drove us back to Hurghada. By this time we were very tired but still made it back in time for evening meal. I couldn’t recommend Ahmed and Said’s excursion highly enough. They went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort. You must do this trip!!

Fantastic Outing with Ahmed and Said

We had an early start, which you appreciate once the day gets started as there's lots to see. Our driver Ahmed was EXACTLY on time and got us to Luxor with good time fully loaded with snacks and supplies! Our guide Said greeted us and talk us through our itinerary for the day. We toured Karnak had lunch, a boat ride along the Nile. Then toured Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, an Alabaster factory and a stop to see the Colossi of Memnon. There was a lot to see but we felt that we had plenty of time to take in each site and weren't rushed. The day was a good pace and Said was very knowledgeable about everything we visited. This trip is fantastic and I couldn't recommend it enough. The other tourists that joined us on the tour were great too... except for that Dan guy.

Said and Ahmed made our trip!

Said and Ahmed were amazing! Ahmed messaged us a few days before with a pickup time and picked us up exactly on time! We had a very relaxing drive which took 3 hours and 40 minutes with one stop half way, we were the first group from Hurghada to arrive at our first stop and we met Said who was our tour guide for the day. Said was so knowledgeable and friendly, he looked after us so well and knew absolutely everything we asked. We learnt so much! Thank you both so much for the best day!

Great trip with Ahmed and Said

Ahmed picked us up right at the decided time and drove us to Luxor before the rush got there. Said is a very knowledgeable guide and patiently answered all our questions. Great trip overall!

Excellent day trip

Turned out to be a very exclusive tour for just the two of us, chauffeured by Abdul Eldoy of Abdul Travel Service - highly recommended driver! Got to see all of the promised sights, guided by the competent Said. A great pleasure. We could have done without the cringeworthy alabaster factory circus as the last stop, but all in all a very satisfying day trip.

Excellent Luxor day trip

We've just got back from a brilliant day out at Luxor. If you're coming from England (like us) then be prepared for interesting driving conditions, however our driver Ahmed handled the driving very well. The sights were awe inspiring, and our driver Ahmed and guide Saeed could not have done more to make it a great day. We loved having a fantastic lunch on the banks of the Nike, followed by a Nile boat trip. If you don't fancy the boat trip dont worry, you can just stay for a long leisurely lunch to give the car time to get to the other side of the river. A highlight was the Valley of the Kings. Our guide Saeed was brilliant and had great indepth knowledge and couldn't have been more helpful to ensure we had a great day. He gave us the choice of whichever tombs we went in, however we followed his guidance (why wouldnt we as he's the expert) about the best ones, and we weren't disappoint with his recommendations. A must do trip for anyone coming to Egypt.

Amazing Luxor trip

Just returned from our trip from Makadi Bay, Hurghada to Luxor. It is an amazing experience, long day but so worth it. We were picked up exactly on time by Ahmed who couldn't do enough for us. The mini van was immaculate, very VIP, comfortable, with WiFi, TV and charger points. Drinks and snacks all provided. Ahmed got us there ahead of the crowds. I was glad not to be driving, and have someone used to the local conditions particularly for the second half of the trip (motorbikes, tuk tuks, tractors, donkeys, pedestrians....coming from all angles... ). The temples and Valley of the Kings sites were amazing. Said was a great guide with a real passion for Egyptian history, he made it come to life for us. The restaurant served really good food for lunch, and we took the optional 40 min Nile boat ride which we loved (go sit up on the roof if you get chance!). All in all an experience not to be missed.

A trip of 2 halves. Driving and attitude atrocious. Luxor guide and tour good.

The trip in Luxor itself, Karnak Temple etc was great. Said the guide was very good. A little bit rushed and could do without the Alabaster shop which none of us wanted to stop at. He chose the 3 tombs in The Valley of the Kings so if you have a preference, make it known. The trip on the Nile was an up sell and only necessary to allow the minibus to drive up to the bridge so it could meet us on the other side. Lunch was early but a good buffet. Drinks were 3euros. HOWEVER, the four hour drive there and back left much to be desired. At very least, the driving was unsafe. Either driving into the oncoming traffic or in the middle of the road at breakneck speed just so that Ahmed could claim to be the first minibus to have arrived from Hurghada and get us back for dinner. Personally, and I can also vouch for the other 5 passengers, I would have preferred to have left an hour/half an hour earlier and driven slightly slower and more safely. In addition, Ahmed must have been having an off day. He took a “dislike” to the 4 x 18 year old Italians sharing the minibus and accused them of smoking inside. They definitely weren’t. At one point when crossing the desert, the windscreen fogged up and he could not see, but continued to drive erratically and dangerously, instead of wiping the inside of the windscreen. When he eventually stopped, he got out and wiped the outside of the windscreen, of course making no difference to the condensation and then accused the boys of smoking and causing the condensation, which was actually caused by the difference in internal/external temperatures. The return trip was equally as bad when we were constantly woken from our sleep by Ahmed ranting about the boys smoking, the police, his dislike to driving to Luxor and how he preferred Cairo, amongst other unsolicited rants. Definitely NOT how paying customers want to be treated. If you decide to go on this trip, check if Ahmed is the driver as he also arranges the tours and runs the company.

Very Good Day Trip to Luxor and Temples

We had an amazing day trip. Our driver Ahmed arrived on time, picking us up in a very comfortable 8 seater van, with Wifi onboard as well as a video screen to enable us to watch a film on route if we wanted to. After we made a quick stop to pick up our guide Said, we continued to the Karnak Temple in Luxor and arrived before most other tourists, which was great as it enabled us to take some amazing photos without massive crowds in view. We then had lunch in a restaurant by the Nile before a 45 minute trip on a boat, crossing to the other side of the river to visit the Valley of The Kings. Then onto the temple of Hatshepsut. Both Ahmed and Said were great. We made a stop at a papyrus factory then an alabaster factory and despite saying we really didn't want to participate as we have visited various papyrus and alabaster factories on previous visits to Egypt, we felt obliged to go in as we were told the van would be locked.
