Son todo lo que queda de un complejo de templos mortuorios más grande construido por el faraón Amenhotep III durante el siglo XIV a. C. (aproximadamente 1350-1334 a. C.). Las estatuas representan a Amenhotep III sentado en su trono, y cada estatua mide unos 18 metros (60 pies) de altura y pesa aproximadamente 700 toneladas. Fueron tallados en bloques individuales de piedra arenisca de cuarcita y originalmente colocados en la entrada del templo del faraón. Las estatuas fueron creadas para proteger el templo y representar el poder y la autoridad divinos del faraón.

Today we went on an incredible excursion. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and explained everything with great passion and clarity. Definitely the best guide in the Luxor. Our driver was also excellent, taking us to each destination with punctuality and kindness. I not only suggest it, but highly recommend it.

Mena is a fantastic tour guide, he started off by explaining Egypt and its ancient customs, not just how but why history unfolded as it did. As we went past locations, he would point them out and explain more about them. At each location he looked after me well, he told me everything I needed to know and made a few recommendations when asked. Of all my guides, he has been an absolute star and if I have time in my trip, he’s the guide I’ll be going back too. If you are his wife reading, save his other knee, he’s been a good boy, we promise 😂

Half day tour with Mena Gamil as guide. Good communication in advance confirmed by WhatsApp. Arrived on time and took us by private car to the West Bank of the Nile. Felt safe in professional hands. Hassle free ticket purchase. Gave us as much time as we needed in the Valley of the Kings. Plenty of background history.
