Incredible trip to Abu Simbel for group
The tour was unforgettable. Tour company pickup our group (10 people) at 4:30am on time at cruise port area. The guide Samir Gaber was very knowledgeable and passionate, making experience even more enriching. He was friendliness and excellent organizational skills. He sent us back to cruise before cruise ship departure. We had wonderful trip and highly recommend to friends.

Astounding Abu Simbel
Abu Simbel was simply amazing! We were delighted by our tour with Mahmoud Nour (and Egypt Tours Portal) to this incredible site. It was as marvelous as I'd hope the day would be. Mahmoud explained things so well and was so fun and friendly. The statues and temples were incredible. I highly recommend this tour and our guide Mahmoud!

Just meh. Would not hire again.
The car was somewhat old, the driver was decent, but the guide was unnecessary and felt rushed. While he shared some information, it wasn’t worth the cost. Since guides aren’t allowed inside the temples, I didn’t find the tour worthwhile. On a separate tour, I hired a different driver for the same price, but with a new SUV. Maybe your experience will depend on who this company decides to hire.

Best guide I had in Egypt: Ambr/ Emo Tours.
I took this Tour with Ambr, a guide working for Emo Tours. Ambr was on time. Super professional. The best guide our of the 10 guides in private tours I took in 2 weeks in Egypt. He was THE real deal. An Encyclopedia, with a wealth of information, dates, curiosities and little details that only an exceptionally good guide can give you. I loved Ambr's tempo on how he guided me on the Tour. Not too fast, not too slow. Precise. Clear English, and lots of spelling on the difficult names of the Gods, Kings and Pharaohs, which was awesome. Ambr understands that a good guide starts when you get into the car, and finishes at the end , when you get out of the car. So, he gave me a ton of complementary information even on Egypt's story, the Grand Dam, the British small dam, the plantations developed close to Abu Simbel, i. e. , a TON of super interesting information. He had pictures on what the highlights were and even a plant of Temple itself. He explained to me AHEAD OF TIME what to do there, which saved me a ton of time when we got there. A complete overview on the sites for me to visit, we visited, what to expect, highlights, etc. I strongly recommend this Tour, and I strongly recommend Ambr as a FIVE Star super good guide for it. Actually, do better: get him for as many Tours as you can. You are gonna Love It !!!!!!

Do not hesitate - just book!
The organizer contacted us well in advance to prepare the paperwork for the checkpoints: as such the trip was super efficient. The driver arrived before the scheduled pick up time, spoke good English and was most courtious. By the way: don’t be afraid to book the 9 am pick up! It still gives you plenty of time and you skip the crowds.

Car to Abu Simbel
The day was dark when we were picked up and had little sightseeing on the trip out. This was fine as we were still tired from the previous day and the idea of a 3 hour car trip was not a big deal. There was one stop on the way. Driver spoke little or no English again which was fine. The guide was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions prior to entering the area. Tickets were provided along with historical information. We took the golf cart to the sight (1 US dollar) and saved us a bit of a walk. Lots of time to wander between the 2 temples. Our trip out was actually quicker than our colleagues who flew. They had to go to the airport 2 hours in advance and endure security checking. Our total cost was less than $300 cdn including coffee and tips compared to more than $600pp for our friends flying. Felt it was a good deal and would recommend it.

Impressive site, disappointing guide
Abu Simbel is an impressive temple complex and worth a visit. The tour went smoothly and were very responsive to us confirming timing and details.
Our one problem with the tour was the tour guide (Mostafa). Having travelled three hours to the site we felt rushed and our guide tried to hurry us back to the car after only 1hr 20mins saying he had another tour. On top of this the information he gave us was less detailed than a wikipedia article and was rushed. He actively made our experience worse. We eventually asked him to leave us alone so we could enjoy the site.
A disappointing element to an other wise good visit. If you want to visit I would suggest just arranging a driver with your hotel. It would be much cheaper!

An almost perfect day - beware of the tourist trap at the end
It is a long drive from Aswan but a visit to Abu Simbel is definitely worth it. We had a very nice English speaking driver who told us a lot about the culture and the area. We were 3 women, the driver was always respectful, is quick and safe gafehten (approx. We started at 8:00 which was a good time as most of the visitors left the temple again on our arrival and the afternoon visitors were not yet here.
The guide we met on site, he was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about the temple complex and answered all questions. After a tour with him he said goodbye to us there, so we were free to explore the temples ourselves.
The all-inclusive package is of course a bit more expensive but you really have to take care of it in nothing, that includes lunch in Abu Simbel was very good.
The only thing that clouded the day at the end was the final drive to the tourist trap (spice market / perfume making), where they offer spices at such overpriced prices that you better buy them at home.
However, you can also refuse the trip there - my tip: let yourself be taken back to the hotel or somewhere else and avoid this place!
Too bad, because otherwise it was a great day.
