A MUST DO ACTIVITY WHEN YOU VISIT EGYPT
We had an action packed itinerary that included sand boarding (definitely a highlight—must be fit to get back up the hill), riding through the desert dunes in a jeep (required a small upgrade fee but well worth it), visiting a waterfall in the middle of the desert (beautiful photo op) sailing a felucca (they let us take turns sailing), and viewing Mudawara mountain. We also had the chance to see some pottery at the Tunis village, visit a jewelry shop for an cartouche, and spices market. Our tour was with Amr, a lively character who made sure we had fun during our excursion. Mahmoud, our driver, got us safely and comfortably from our hotel to the national park. Overall, this was a highlight of our Egypt trip.

Fantastic Desert Day
We had a brilliant family day away from Cairo to experience the desert and oasis. Amr was an excellent guide, contacting us prior to the trip to confirm arrangements and ensuring we were happy throughout the day. He told us about the history of both Egypt in general and about the area we were visiting and we also discussed local culture. The sights themselves were magnificent and we enjoyed panoramic views, a boat trip and had a go at sandboarding or sandsledging in my case! We enjoyed a traditional lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Cairo. Thank you Amr for a memorable day.

Warning: POOR experience
We booked this activity for our trip to Egypt in May 2025.
It turned out to be cheap. Our guide was improvised, unprofessional, he confirmed that he got a job from a friend of his because he needed money. Starting from the journey: Arabic music at full volume, little interaction and inclusiveness. There are no explanations. From the beginning he insisted on paying us everything, without being asked, even extras not welcome. Arriving at the waterfalls in the desert, he took us to a bar, inviting us in a rather abrupt way to consume something. Then he almost forced us to buy shark teeth. At our refusal to buy them, he basically told us to do it almost angry. We were quite surprised, considering that we were in the middle of the desert about 3 hours from Cairo, we avoided making a fuss. He passed us from one collaborator to another and everyone expected tip for anything. While sandboarding he practically crashed my girlfriend, explaining nothing and even ended up falling when he tried it himself. Very insistent on all activities. We end by saying that he repeatedly insisted that we leave a review before getting out of the car, finding numerous excuses to check what we could write. Even after telling him we didn't have access to the Internet, he even offered hotspots to force us to write. Finally he asked us several times if we needed to withdraw money for tips. So at the end of the activity he asked to be paid in part in euros for shark teeth bought forcibly, in addition to lunch, the tip for him that he imposed on us. We weren't free to pay him even as much as we decided. Experience to forget, please do not be forced to write positive reviews. And by the way, Viator bad broker to book assets from. All remaining activities booked with Get you guide or TripAdvisor went to God.

Our guide, Amr took us to El Fayoum Oasis and Wadi Rayan waterfall, and from the very start, there was this instant bond. He’s warm, funny, and genuinely kind. You can tell he loves what he does, and that energy is contagious. He made us feel completely looked after, like we were his own people. He even bought us treats in the morning as we didn't have time for breakfast.
He didn’t just show us the sights, he made sure we experienced them properly. He helped us get the best views, took incredible photos (seriously, he’s got a talent for it), and always checked in to make sure we were okay. There was no rush, no stress, just good vibes and real care.
What really stood out was his honesty and the way he connected with us. It felt personal, not transactional. If we ever come back to Egypt, Amr is the first person we’d reach out to. He didn’t just guide us—he gave us memories we’ll carry for life.

A great diversion from the hustle & bustle of Cairo
A great diversion from the hustle & bustle of Cairo - it was wonderful to see a different side & pace of life in Egypt. Mina (tour guide) & Ahmad (driver) were easy going, made the tour fun & more like a road trip. Mina was full of information & historical facts that gave us a better understanding & appreciation of Egypt's history - would recommend!
