Join us on this tour if you're looking for authentic, home-cooked and street Egyptian food in two different neighborhoods in Cairo. The first area is West Elbalad,downtown Cairo where will be meeting and kicking off with some national drinks. A sense of home-cooked food prepared like Egyptian grandmothers used to cook everyday is so nice. The second area is the iconic of the local Cairo where you can explorer Cairo off beaten pavement, the real lives of people, tuk tuks and the local markets. A sandwich of taameya like typical Cairenes use instead of falafel and a plate of Koshary are authentic experiences between locals! 6+ stops will let your belly dance with the Egyptian food. Ahmad is such a nice and passionate person, his passion about Egypt, it's culture and it's food is immediately noticeable. I had the pleasure of going to this by myself and was immediately made to feel incredibly welcome. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about Egyptian food or culture. Be prepared to eat lots of tasty food and be given great recommendations. I had an issue with my shoes and Ahmad with his kind soul took me to a shoe repair shop with his own time meaning the rest of my trip went very well. I would like to thank Ahmad for such a lovely time!

Ahmed was very welcoming and we stayed in touch a few weeks before the tour. The tour was very insightful and Ahmed had many good recommendations. I would have never tried any of the foods, snacks and sweets alone. Great tour and good company. Thanks.

A great food tour in downtown Cairo. The tour is led by a very enthousiastic couple that have a lot to tell about traditional Egyptian food and culture. We have tasted a good variety of foods! They also came up with alternatives for a group member who is a vegetarian. Would definetly recommend this tour. Yalla bina!

Where to even start….This was an AMAZING experience for our family in downtown Cairo. We spent the evening Ahmed walking around to different locations and trying the best local food we could find. He tailored the experience around what we wanted to try. The people were all so friendly and we had zero concerns about our safety. If you want to get the real Cairo experience and not just travel like a tourist, do this tour! We went on a Thursday night (the beginning of their weekend) and there were SO many people out and about. Being able to just feel the city and the people living their lives was something our son (and us) will never forget!! I can’t even put into words how great of an experience this was for us. Thank you so much Ahmed (and family).

Ahmed was a fantastic guide on the food tour! He brought us to some great places to experience typical Egyptian food! You will not leave hungry!! The falafels and kosary were my favorites!! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in Cairo!

Top - very good. Ahmed ( unfortunately without family ) explained well and understandably and led to nice places. Especially the location with the desserts was fabulous! Great experience, we would definitely book again!

I have done a lot of food tours in many countries and I have to say that this food tour with Ahmed is one of the BEST I have ever done. From the moment you book the tour Ahmed's excellent communication and kindness is apparent. Ahmed immediately puts you at ease, sharing interesting facts and stories, getting to know you and showing genuine care for people all around him. The food was amazing, you get so FULL and get to try lots of traditional dishes in local run restaurants. If you want a wonderful evening filled with great company, interesting conversation and fantastic food then look no further!
