Trip of a lifetime along the Nile!
The four-day tour was meticulously planned, and brilliantly led by our wonderful tour- guide John. John joined us on arrival in Luxor and from that moment on, I was confident that everything was going to be fun, safe and details all organised. John was super communicative before the trip began,and through the week was kept us up-to-date over Whatsapp of any changes or useful information, and was patient and helpful throughout - often advising on money questions as well as being a great Egyptologist who was able to inform us of lots of fascinating detail on our tours of various temples and tombs! John was an always positive and reassuring and informative presence and sorted everything, from entry tickets to sites, to transfers and cabs along the four-day tour. We saw some of the most magical sites in the world, and felt incredibly safe (both in Egypt generally, and on the boat and tour) and were very well looked after for the entire trip. All the drivers and cars used were clean and air conditioned, with safe and polite drivers!
Earlier on in the planning process, Marina from Journey to Egypt was incredibly informative, responsive, detailed and patient as I planned the trip.
The 4-day trip was a great experience, so enjoyable and interesting, and a great mix, because although it is a busy sightseeing itinerary with early starts, it never felt too hectic or exhausting, and we always has a little time to relax in the afternoon and evenings. I felt happy and safe for the whole trip, especially as a solo traveller this was a big relief. Egyptian people and staff on the boat were all wonderfully welcoming and efficient.
I would highly recommend Journey to Egypt as a tour operator, and John as a guide!

Once in a lifetime experience
The trip was fantastic. Very worth getting a tour with Journey to Egypt. Everything was seamless. Tour guides were fantastic and very informative - John was great. We always felt safe and didn’t have to worry about negotiating anything. The cruise boat was lovely. Overall a great trip to an amazing country where there is so much incredible history.

In 4 days from Aswan to Luxor
Everything was very well organized and we enjoyed our tour very much! Our tour guide John was very knowledgeable and helpful. He and Journey to Egypt went above and beyond to give us the best experience possible.

A Magical Family Adventure on the Nile
Our four-day Nile cruise was an unforgettable experience. I traveled with my two children (8 and 11), and while I wasn’t sure how they’d handle the sightseeing, our incredible guide, Mena, made everything smooth, engaging, and genuinely fun.
Mena was kind, attentive—and incredibly knowledgeable. He adapted the schedule to keep the kids interested and was so thoughtful when my younger one came down with a stomach bug, making sure she was comfortable and adjusting plans as needed. The cruise itself was a dream for the kids—sailing down the Nile, exploring ancient temples, and learning about both ancient and modern Egyptian culture and language. Mena was fantastic—he brought every site to life with his stories and insights.
I couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a more memorable trip. If you’re considering a Nile cruise, do it—and if you can, do it with Mena!

Great 4 day cruise with stops at many temples
This was a great experience. Our guide Michael was amazing. He had so much information and did a great job of accommodating my mom who has some mobility issues. The boat was very nice and the food onboard was great.

Informative, safe and incredible
The trip was exceptionally well organised. Our tour guide was John who was incredibly informative and well organised. The sites are not to be missed and the photos don’t do justice to actually being there.
The entire region is safe to travel to, we never felt uncomfortable even when we went for walks by ourselves through the streets or markets.

Excellent adventure!
We had an unbelievable family adventure. John, our tour guide was excellent and took care of every little detail to ensure we were comfortable, especially since we had an elderly couple in the group. John was excellent at explaining the history and stories about each site. His English is perfect, and we understood him very well. The tour company even let us add an extra site to the itinerary with no extra charge. The tours are worth every penny. We felt completely safe at every destination. I would highly recommend tourists to come to Egypt and plan their Nile cruise with Journey to Egypt. We were completely satisfied and in awe of everything we saw.

An incredible Journey to Egypt through time
Our tour was an unforgettable experience. Our guide John was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and organised—he had a detailed plan for each site which meant we always saw the highlights of the temples and knew their backstories beforehand, so we could focus on the visual details as we explored the sites. Overall, everything was taken care of efficiently and professionally; we hardly ever waited around and never worried about logistics, even with packed daily itineraries, boat departures, and early starts. John is down to earth and attentive, and his expertise is apparent. Throughout our trip he shared a wealth of historical and practical information about each destination, including tips on dealing with street vendors as well as Egyptian history and mythology. We had an incredible time and cannot recommend John and Journey to Egypt highly enough.
