Hurghada to Luxor day tour and hot air balloon ride with temples and valley of the kings
We booked through get your guide which said it was an 11 hour tour, did not go into detail of how many hours you are doing each part for. The driver picked us up late 11:45pm. Didn’t explain anything about the trip. We tried to sleep in the car. Had to ask for the air-con to be put on it was so hot. He Stoped off at some rode side shake, woke us up and said come on, again didn’t tell us anything. Then asked if we want coffee, we said no he said please go on, we had a coffee whilst he smoked Shisha. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. We then had to pay for the coffee that we didn’t want in the first place. Got back on the road. He woke us up at 3:30am with loud music, swerving the car. I felt unsafe. We finally stopped, met another car which had another couple in so I felt a bit better. We then had “breakfast” on a felucca boat in the middle of the river Nile. It was bread, feta cheese and black honey. Could not see a thing it was pitch black. He then played loud music on the boat at like 4am after a sleepless journey. We asked the other couple how their journey was and if they stopped off too and felt unsafe they said yes as nothing was explained. Bamba made us get in the front of car to write a review, told us what to write and watched us do it. We felt like we had to as it was 3:30am and didn’t want to be left stranded in the middle of somewhere. I said no we write a review when you take us back home and he insisted to do one then as well as when we got back. So any reviews that say Bamba number 1 driver are all forced people to write. We then did the hot air balloon ride with someone else. This was the best bit by far. After that got picked up by Bamba again who took us to meet our tour guide. He was very good. Took us to valley of the kings which was kl, onto some temples. We asked to come home early and didn’t do the east bank as the trip was so long as we had seen enough. Bamba was constantly on his phone whilst driving at high speeds. Made us write a comment to nice tour to say we really enjoyed ourself. On the way home he stopped off again we didn’t want a drink, we wanted to get home. He smoked shisha again whilst we waited for him. Not sure that the company know what their taxi drivers are actually like and need to invest more into better drivers. Our tour guide was great though. The driver let the trip down and the company needed to go into more detail about how long the trip was and how long each part took and if we can skip certain parts of it.

Hot air balloon and valley of kings trip

Worth it if you get to do hot air balloon!
This activity is a very long day and worth the money IF you get to do the hot air balloon otherwise I think it’s a little overpriced. We unfortunately were told the night before no air balloons would be running due to winds (which is a risk we knew when we booked). Elarya was wonderful and her and the team worked really hard to try re-arrange for me to go the next day but as the return would have been to close to my flight we couldn’t. Instead they offered a partial refund or sunrise quad biking. The partial refund amount isn’t worth it so we took the sunrise quad biking. We were still picked up at 11pm the night before and when we arrived at 3am had to sit on a boat ride which we would have done if the hot air balloon was happening, this felt very pointless and long as we were the only ones on the lake and there were a lot of mosquitos. We were given an Egyptian breakfast of bread and tea which was nice but 2 hours is too long to be on that boat. We then went with our driver and did the quads, which was okay it was just sand dunes. Our Egyptologist came to meet us (Summer) and she was AMAZING!! if you get her you’re in for a treat as she’s so kind and knowledgeable and passionate about her job. She’s a very well known tour guide and you’ll feel very lucky if you get her for the day. We saw a 3/4 temples and not all of them as you have to pay for each temple (which makes the overall price a lot more expensive) and it was such a long and hot day that we couldn’t hack seeing them all. Summer advised us of the best ones to see. I also don’t think you need to see them all tbh. We also stopped for lunch at a restaurant which the food was lovely and made fresh, we had a selection of food. It was really nice to have a personal driver and not share on a big coach so that’s a plus and he stops a few times on the way there and back for toilet break and to get snacks if needed. For all that you see and do this tour is worth it if you’re thinking about it especially as Hot air Balloons in other countries cost the price of this tour alone but don’t be like me and leave it until the end of your trip, that way if it gets cancelled you can re-arrange to do it a different day!

An amazing adventure through Egypt
