Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Travel to Alexandria. Start the tour with the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.
Visiting the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock
You will also drive by Pompay's Pillar and stop for a photo stop, (it was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century)
We will walk by the excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheater Ruins, Alexandria's Great Tomb excavation site, and various ruins. Please note that we will not be visiting the interior of these sites but will enjoy an external view while our guide shares insights into their historical significance.
The car will then take you to visit the church of St. Mark – the oldest church in Africa,
Continue your tour by passing through the oldest market area in Mansheya and see the traditional womens’ markets (zan’et etsetat) with very thin and narrow streets, gold market also exists here where everyone buys their wedding and engagement jewellery.

The car will then transport you to the most beautiful and largest mosque in the city, allowing for a photo stop at the Abbo Elabbas Mosque.Walk by the oldest funfair in Egypt
Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are amazing. Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop.
Once in Montaza Gardens, commonly known as the Love Garden (all romantic couples and families go there) you will visit the royal gardens of King Farouk (the last king in the history of Egypt) and see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek as well as walk along the famous Montaza bridge and reach the Tea Palace island and see the royal beaches of the queens. Then travel in comfort back to your hotel in Cairo.

This is a really nice trip to take and very doable in a day. We wanted to escape the pyramids and the temples for a day and get a snap shot of life in a coastal city like Alex. Mohammed was a wonderful guide and we truly enjoyed his tour and his knowledge of Alex .

Packing the whole history of Alexandria into one day is not easy. With this tour we were able to see the main things, stay in good company, even helped by the fact that Mohammad is really a good guide, with fluent English, understandable even when this is not your first language. The day ended in a good rebel seafood restaurant.

For individuals contemplating a side excursion to Alexandria from Cairo, it is important to note that a significant portion of the day, specifically five hours or more, will be allocated to travel time. This may result in a limited duration for exploring Alexandria itself. Furthermore, even when selecting the VIP option, participants will be grouped with other travelers, potentially up to ten individuals. Consequently, the morning itinerary will involve multiple stops at various hotels for pick-ups, and a similar process will occur for drop-offs in the evening. Our experience involved a pick-up at 6:45 AM and a return around 5:15 PM. This particular tour offers an opportunity to experience Alexandria, albeit briefly. We visited the library for a short period, which is anticipated given the time constraints. The catacombs proved to be a highlight of the visit. We concluded the day with a pleasant dinner at a seafood restaurant offering views of the Mediterranean Sea. In summary, while it was an experience, it is not one I would personally repeat.

Amount of time we spend in Alexandria felt just right. Our guide was so knowledgeable, he made it a great tour! Lunch by the sea was a great touch. Didn’t perfectly follow the itinerary, but still an amazing day in Alexandria!

Mohammad was a great guide, funny, with lots of interesting stories. He was very patient with the group and we really enjoyed our time with him. Alexandria is a great city and I would definitely recommend this tour, especially Catacombs.

It was a long day, 0630 start as it was 3 hours drive. The driver was great and did a coffee stop. Of the many stops, i enjoyed the catacombs most. I would have loved to go to the jewellery museum as well. It was jam packed and the guide was knowlegable. Lunch was late so have a hearty breakfast.

We purchased a day tour in Alexandria. Our tour guide, Noor, and our driver, Ahmad, were very friendly when they met us. Noor was very knowledgeable about every place we visited. He's a very good guide. Besides that, he was very helpful in assisting us with our purchases. By the end of the day, he had become more than just our guide; he was like a friend to us. We had an absolutely amazing experience on our tour in Alexandria! Our tour guide, Noor, was exceptional. Her knowledge of Egyptian history was impressive, but what made her stand out was the passion and warmth with which she shared it. She was always patient, friendly, and happy to answer all our questions, making us feel comfortable and engaged throughout the entire experience. A big thank you also to our driver, Essam, who was professional, kind, and made us feel completely safe at all times. Navigating through busy streets and long distances with such calmness and reliability is not an easy task, and he did it perfectly. His positive attitude and smile added even more to the overall experience. It was truly an experience of a lifetime, and we are incredibly grateful to Noor and Essam for making it so special!
