Day Tour to El Fayoum Visiting starting with pickup from your Hotel at 07:00 AM, Drive from Cairo to El Fayoum around 1 hour, and start the tour by visitng the Tunis Village in Fayoum, The small village of Tunis (‘izbat Tunis) is located in the oasis of Fayoum, on the way to Wadi Rayan. Located on a hill facing a large salt water lake, the village overlooks a stunning view of the edge of the desert on the other side of the lake. It is one of the most beautiful places in Egypt.
The valley of Wadi El-Rayan is an area of 1759 km2, 113 km2 of which are the dominating water body of the Wadi El Rayan lakes. It is located about 65 km southwest of Faiyum city and 80 km west of the Nile River. The Wadi has been used for man-made lakes from agricultural drainage which has made a reserve of the two separate Wadi El Rayan Lakes. The reserve is composed of a 50.90 km2 upper lake and a 62.00 km2 lower lake, with waterfalls between the two. Among the springs, there are three sulphur springs at the southern side of the lower lake, with extensive mobile sand dunes. Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls are considered to be the largest waterfalls in Egypt. At the south and southeast of the springs is Gabal Manqueer Al Rayan, where marine fossils and archeological remains are found. Gabal Madwera, near the lower lake, is known for its extensive dune formations.
Lake Qarun or Qarun Pool is a lake in the city of Fayoum in Upper Egypt. It is located northwest of the city of Beni Suef, west of the Nile River, about 50 kilometers away from it. Lake Qarun is located in Fayoum Governorate and is one of the largest natural lakes in Egypt.
Wādī al-Ḥītān ( lit. 'Wadi of the Whales' Egyptian Arabic pronunciation: [ˈwa.diː elˈħit.æːn] is a paleontological site in the Faiyum Governorate of Egypt, some 150 kilometres (93 mi) south-west of Cairo. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2005 for its hundreds of fossils of some of the earliest forms of whale, the archaeoceti (a now extinct sub-order of whales). The site reveals evidence for the explanation of one of the greatest mysteries of the evolution of whales: the emergence of the whale as an ocean-going mammal from a previous life as a land-based animal. No other place in the world yields the number, concentration and quality of such fossils, nor their accessibility and setting in an attractive and protected landscape. The valley was therefore inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005. The tour was great! I recommend it to everyone who is looking for something unique while in Egypt! The Valley of the Whales is a unique place and we had enough time to explore it. After that we had a fun time in the desert of Wadi El Rayan - our driver took us to places with amazing views. Lunch was delicious!

We had such a wonderful day! The Valley of Whales is a magical place, learning about the history behind the whale skeletons and then actually seeing them in the middle of the desert was so fascinating, actually unbelievable! Beautiful views in the desert, the desert camp people were very friendly and did their best to make the 4x4 ride fun. We were picked up on time and the journey went smoothly. The place was not very touristy at all (even some Egyptian people we came across during the rest of our trip in Egypt did not know about the existence of the Valley of Whales), therefore it was quiet and peaceful. The only thing is that we would have found it helpful to know that it was a private tour (my friend and I were the only ones on the tour), which was not a problem but if I were alone I am not sure I would have felt comfortable about it; and that the lunch would have been at around 3pm (if we knew that we would have brought a snack with us). If you have an extra day in Cairo I would totally recommend taking this tour as it was one of the main highlight of our trip to Egypt!

This tour is so underrated. We did this on our last day in a Egypt to wrap up our 2 weeks and it was the best way to end our trip. I guess because not a lot of people go, we practically had the entire desert to our selves. Actually, we did have the place to ourselves. Most of the time we did not see any other people around. That silence is amazing after all the noise from Cairo. The desert is absolutely gorgeous. Then we got to see whale fossils that were found in the middle of the desert in Egypt! If that wasn’t breath taking enough, you go to see a lake and oasis complete with a waterfall. Then we had the best food I had in Egypt. The drives there and back are long, maybe 2-3 hours? You get a “photo guide” which I was nervous about because we did have some bad guides but it made sense. It’s the middle of the desert, no monuments or buildings. But he was friendly and very funny.

Private exclusive mini-car tour with door-to-door hotel transfers. When you get to Whale Valley, change into a quad and drive through the desert, visit Whale Valley, waterfalls and do a lot of sand washing. The whole day was very good and the lunch was delicious. It was the most comfortable day we had on our trip to Egypt and I gave it five stars!

Hiking though Wadi El Hitan was magical. The rock formations are fascinating. The museum is well curated. The lunch at White Desert Camp was unexpected and unique.bloved the grilled meats right out of the ground. Fun dune ride too!

This was the only tour company that are scammers in Egypt. They refuse to refund my payment. I called asked to reschedule and began making up lies. So sad. I am getting a lawyer since I’m have friends over there. DONT USE! There are 3 really honest ones.

Great full day of seeing outside of Cairo. The whale bones are amazing to see, on the seabed, where they died. The landscape is fabulous you can imagine these huge mammals swimming around you. The dunes drive was exciting and lunch was great! Our driver and guide Tony was lots of fun and full of knowledge and answered all our questions.

Adiat is knowledgeable and engaging, prepared to give us all the time we needed to talk about the history and about Egypt. He is one of those people who is interested in many things, multi lingual and good to talk to. The desert was wonderful and Wadi el Hitan with it's excellent museum just perfect. Don't miss the shining surface of the sand from the millions of fossil fish scales to add to the awe of this amazing glimpse into the Eocene seas and mangrove swamps.
