Karnak is een oud Egyptisch tempelgebied gelegen aan de oostelijke oever van de rivier de Nijl in Thebe (het huidige Luxor). Het beslaat meer dan 100 hectare, een gebied dat groter is dan sommige oude steden.
- Luxor Temple2 uur
De tempel van Luxor werd in de loop van honderden jaren gebouwd door Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Toetanchamon en andere farao's en was het grootste en belangrijkste religieuze centrum in het oude Egypte. In wat toen Thebe was, was de Luxor-tempel "de plaats van de eerste gelegenheid", waar de god Amon wedergeboorte beleefde tijdens de jaarlijks nagespeelde kroningsceremonie van de farao.

De westelijke oever van Luxor was de plaats van koninklijke begrafenissen sinds ongeveer 2100 voor Christus, maar het waren de farao's van de periode van het Nieuwe Rijk (1550-1069 voor Christus) die deze geïsoleerde vallei kozen die wordt gedomineerd door de piramidevormige bergtop van Al Qurn ( De Hoorn). Ooit de Grote Necropolis van Miljoenen Jaren van Farao genoemd, of de Plaats van Waarheid, heeft de Vallei der Koningen 63 prachtige koninklijke graven.
- Temple of Hatshepsut2 uur
Bij Deir Al Bahri richten de ogen zich eerst op de dramatische ruige kalkstenen kliffen die bijna 300 meter boven de woestijnvlakte uitsteken, om vervolgens te beseffen dat aan de voet van al deze immense schoonheid een nog buitengewooner monument ligt, de oogverblindende tempel van Hatshepsut. De bijna modern ogende tempel past prachtig bij de kliffen waaruit hij gedeeltelijk is uitgehouwen - een huwelijk gemaakt in de hemel. Het meeste van wat je ziet is nauwgezet gereconstrueerd.

Amazing experience!
I truly loved this tour. We visited the most amazing places in Luxor and our guide Ibrahim was awesome. We learned a lot and enjoyed the whole day exploring. If I have the chance, I would do this again. There's a LOT to see!

Stepping back in time…
This trip was amazing. We had the best guides in Cairo (Sadekmido Mohammad) and in Luxor (Hassan Sedik). We explored the sites in comfort on our private tours. Our guides eliminated the stress of haggling with the vendors as we shopped at various locations along the way. I love the passion exuding from our guides as they walked us through the fascinating world of ancient Egypt. I learned so much. From visiting the pyramids, standing at the foot of the Sphinx, exploring the colorful tombs and literally touching history…Jakada Tours made the trip worthwhile.

Experience of a LIFE TIME!
What an incredible unforgettable experience. A special Thank You to the Tour Guide "Azab" now Brother from another Mother. Azab from the very start was precise, prompt and on point. Everything from his genuine kindness, honesty and knowledge of the History of Egypt went well above my expectations. His passion and love of his job definitley showed and I would use him again on my next visit with my family. Even other people on our cruise noticed how he treated us and asked us for his information as well. That alone coming from the outside from strangers on a cruise proves what an exceptional job he has done. I felt like one of the kings of Egypt by the end of the tour. Also, the detailed schedule and activities arranged by the company was seemless and we hit all the spots. I highly recommend Azab on your next journey to Egypt you will not be disappointed.

Luxor with Jakada Tours!
Ahmed was our tour guide while in Luxor for two days. We also had a representative from Luxor (Ali) pick us up right from airport and take us back. He was awesome, from meeting us at the hotel to taking us to all the sites and finding us places to eat lunch and get souvenirs he was great. He had a lot useful knowledge to help us understand ancient Egyptian life. We traveled from the United States, we live in Michigan and were unsure how our first long international trip would go and Jakda Tours has made it so memorable and easy, if your hesitant don’t be, contact Jakada tours out tour guides, representatives and drivers have all been excellent!

Amazing cruise down the Egyptian Nile!!
My tour guide Azab who works for Jakarta tour stayed with us our entire. Our tour began the moment we stepped off the plane. Azab is one of the most knowledgeable and friendly tour guides you could ever ask for. If you plan on coming to Egypt and visiting Luxor and the West Bank please make sure you request Azab!! He is the best!!
