Karnak is een oud Egyptisch tempelgebied gelegen aan de oostelijke oever van de rivier de Nijl in Thebe (het huidige Luxor). Het beslaat meer dan 100 hectare, een gebied dat groter is dan sommige oude steden.
De tempel van Luxor werd in de loop van honderden jaren gebouwd door Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Toetanchamon en andere farao's en was het grootste en belangrijkste religieuze centrum in het oude Egypte. In wat toen Thebe was, was de Luxor-tempel "de plaats van de eerste gelegenheid", waar de god Amon wedergeboorte beleefde tijdens de jaarlijks nagespeelde kroningsceremonie van de farao.
De westelijke oever van Luxor was de plaats van koninklijke begrafenissen sinds ongeveer 2100 voor Christus, maar het waren de farao's van de periode van het Nieuwe Rijk (1550-1069 voor Christus) die deze geïsoleerde vallei kozen die wordt gedomineerd door de piramidevormige bergtop van Al Qurn ( De Hoorn). Ooit de Grote Necropolis van Miljoenen Jaren van Farao genoemd, of de Plaats van Waarheid, heeft de Vallei der Koningen 63 prachtige koninklijke graven.
Bij Deir Al Bahri richten de ogen zich eerst op de dramatische ruige kalkstenen kliffen die bijna 300 meter boven de woestijnvlakte uitsteken, om vervolgens te beseffen dat aan de voet van al deze immense schoonheid een nog buitengewooner monument ligt, de oogverblindende tempel van Hatshepsut. De bijna modern ogende tempel past prachtig bij de kliffen waaruit hij gedeeltelijk is uitgehouwen - een huwelijk gemaakt in de hemel. Het meeste van wat je ziet is nauwgezet gereconstrueerd.

Hassan Sedik our tour on our annual family trip was amazing, kind, and patient. We visited the Hatshbsut Temple, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, ate delicious falafels at a local restaurant, and ate lunch at Africas in Luxor.

THE BEST GUIDE HANDS DOWN‼️ Mr. Ahmed was not only a guide, but we became Great Friends! He made sure I was well taken care of, and provided great behind the scenes! The food spots were amazing and reasonable. I can most definitely say I made a true friend. This trip has inspired me to bring more people. As a solo traveler or group, I recommend this guy! He is a history fanatic and knows what he is talking about. I can go on for hours about this man. Once booked, you will see why is a good guide but as mentioned a good friend.

Ahmed Awad was a wonderful guide that goes above and beyond! He’s very kind , patient , and knowledgeable. My tour with him was very informative and you can tell that he loves his country and what he does. He made my trip to Luxor lovely . I highly recommend this tour especially with Ahmed!

Hassan sedik was absolutely amazing. We flew in from Cairo for a full day and boy was it full. Hassan is so knowledgeable and passionate about his craft as a certified Egyptologist and he loves what he does. We covered so much ground in one day but it is possible to do Cairo Luxor Cairo in one day and be back in time for dinner. With that said Luxor need more than one day for sure. I would tell you to skip extra time in Cairo for Luxor, much better experience and more to see and do without the chaos of Cairo. We had a ton of fun together and laughed a lot and shred a wonderful day. Also hats off to Abdul our driver who had the AC pumping in the car. We treated us like VIP's and he had a great comfortable new car. Yasser met us at the airport and made sure we were headed in the right direction. Thank you all!

Excellent tour with limited time but our guide Ahmed Awad was able to show the major sites and key history of ancient Egypt. We would have like to see more of Luxor with Ahmed as he was knowledgeable and easy going. Very good photographer too.
