Fantastische ervaring!
Ik had een geweldige ervaring met Ahmed op de food tour. Zijn passie voor Egypte, Caïro en de Egyptische keuken is zo duidelijk en het maakte de hele ervaring zeer boeiend. Naast het eten toerde hij ons rond in gebieden van Caïro die ik zeker niet zou hebben gezien zonder zijn inzicht, en dit stelde me in staat om de volgende nacht terug te gaan om verder te verkennen. Het belangrijkste was dat het eten geweldig was! Laziz! Elke halte was precies goed geportioneerd, en dus voelde ik me gevoed terwijl ik comfortabel in staat was om alles te bieden. Ten slotte werden onaangetaste restanten geschonken aan hulpbehoevenden. Ik zou het zeker aanraden als je in Caïro bent en de culinaire hoogstandjes wilt ervaren die de stad te bieden heeft!

Ahmed's tour was a great experience
Ahmed took us on a great 3 1/2 hour food tour - no rush and lots of food in old Cairo. 4 of us visited very authentic local restaurants - nothing fancy but exactly what the locals would eat. Ahmed has a real passion for meeting and talking to foreigners about his Egyptian food and culture. If you want a very personal tour this is the one. He and his wife run their own small tours and can accommodate any needs. 1 couple last night was in the coffee business so he added a special stop at an Egyptian coffee roaster so we could all buy local coffee beans.

Een hoogtepunt van Caïro onder de vele hoogtepunten
Dit was een onverwacht hoogtepunt van onze 5 dagen in Caïro. We wilden dingen ervaren door de ogen van de lokale bevolking en deze tour was perfect. Ahmed, Sharouk en familie waren de perfecte gastheren. We waren over tijdens Ramadan dus onze tour was een opleiding over wat er gegeten en gedronken werd tijdens de periode, echt interessant en hielp ons een begrip te geven van wat er om ons heen gebeurde. We werden meegenomen naar een aantal geweldige eetgelegenheden (die we zelf niet zouden hebben gevonden) gegeven informatie over de gerechten en de cultuur. Zowel Ahmed & Sharouk waren zeer warme gastheren geven precies de juiste hoeveelheid informatie om dingen interessant, maar nooit overweldigend te houden. Zij en hun kinderen waren zeer goed gezelschap. Het eten was heerlijk en overvloedig met een overschot naar degenen in nood. We verlieten de avond mooi gevuld en vol geluk voor onze ervaring. Zeer aan te bevelen.

Authentic Egyptian Food Experience
We've done dozens of walking/food tours all over the world and this was unequivocally the best. Ahmed was incredibly passionate about showing us his perspective of Cairo and Egypt. We had wonderful food at truly local places that we would have never found otherwise, while learning a ton about modern Egyptian life and culture. It was easily the most authentic experience we had in Egypt. We would highly recommend!

Great food tour in downtown Cairo with Ahmed
We really enjoyed our tour with our local guide Ahmed.
He was passionate about Egyptian food. We visited local food stalls/eateries and sat amongst the local people. Everything was interesting and the food was great.

Wonderful street food tour
It was our first day in Egypt and we wanted a non- tourist, local view of Cairo. Shorouk did a wonderful job introducing us to Egyptian street food in the downtown core. My kids and I felt really comfortable and welcomed in all the stops and around the city. The food was delicious from breakfast food to learning about tahini production and dessert! Its a wonderful and delicious way to experience Egyptian culture.

Fabulous local food tour
We had a wonderful time doing the food tour with Ahmed and his family our first night in Egypt. We visited 5 (6?) different food vendors sampling different local specialties. Ahmed was a wonderful host educating us on the culture of Egypt and about Ramadan . He communicated with us via WhatsApp before our arrival and made us feel like we were dining with family we didn’t know we had in Cairo.
We were 2 couples plus another couple and single traveler, we enjoyed the small group experience. He sent us home with a box of dates and Ramadan keychains as reminders of our great dining experience. We are grateful for their hospitality and highly recommend the tour. The price was much less than other food tours we looked at and we couldn’t be more satisfied.

Abbiamo partecipato a questo tour enogastronomico tra le vie del Cairo ed è stata un’esperienza semplicemente straordinaria. La nostra guida, Ahmed, si è dimostrata estremamente professionale, competente ed appassionata. Non si è limitato a farci assaggiare piatti tipici, ma ci ha raccontato la storia, le tradizioni e la cultura dietro ogni specialità, rendendo il tour coinvolgente e autentico.
Abbiamo scoperto luoghi che da soli non avremmo mai trovato, tra piccoli locali tradizionali e angoli nascosti della città, assaggiando cibi deliziosi e genuini. Ahmed ha saputo creare un’atmosfera amichevole e rilassata, facendoci sentire sempre a nostro agio e rispondendo con entusiasmo a tutte le nostre domande.
Questo tour è molto più di una semplice esperienza gastronomica: è un vero viaggio nella cultura locale. Lo consiglio vivamente a chiunque voglia conoscere il Cairo in modo autentico, attraverso i suoi sapori e le sue tradizioni. Grazie Ahmed per aver reso questa esperienza indimenticabile.

Can’t-miss food tour in Cairo!
We were warmly greeted by our hosts, Ahmed and Shorouk and their two daughters, and immediately felt welcomed and appreciated. Our tour began at a local juice bar and proceeded to six additional stops, each one featuring authentic and exciting Egyptian dishes. From small (tiny, really) restaurants to street food stands, and finally ending at a sweets shop/bakery, every stop was fantastic, educational and filling! The entire evening felt like a visit with family members, complete with excellent explanations of the food’s history and the connections with Egyptian culture. Highly recommended!!!
