We had an amazing trip! We took a 4 day cruise in Princess Sarah and had a private guide, Ismail. The tour would’ve not been the same without him. We were impressed by knowledge about all the temples and every time we needed to arrange something he would help us in a very resolutive way. I 100% recommend taking the tour with him.

We had an amazing time on the cruise with a great guide that made sure our experience was unbelievable! I was worried to book a cruise online but we were not disappointed at all. The staff was nice and worried about our happiness, the visits were amazing and the boat was really good to stay in. I particularly recommend the trip to the nubian villages and the hot balloon, totally worth it!

This cruise on board the Sanctuary Sun Boat III was perfect for exploring and learning about the history of Ancient Egypt in luxury and comfort. The ship is gorgeous and the crew is just wonderful. Luxor and Aswan Travel were attentive, responsive and very helpful throughout the planning and execution stages of my trip. Every person I communicated with and met was professional, friendly and went out of their way to ensure a smooth journey. Would definitely recommend!

Was fortunate to find Luxor and Aswan Travel to make my arrangements for the Nile cruise. Communication to book the trip was perfect. The ship recommended….Sonesta Sun Goddess…an all suite cabin ship is excellent..very spacious cabins. The food and service was excellent. Our guide, Ayman (Simon) was the best. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about his profession. Ayman was available anytime. He is highly recommended as a guide should you book your travels here. The Manager followed up durinf G the trip to make sure everything was ok. I would highly recommend this company for your travel needs in Egypt.

We did the cruise with Mohamned as our guide. Overall the experience was amazing, really recommend! He was really friendly and gave us precious knowledge about the Egyptian culture and monuments! The program also allowed us to enjoy both the historic landmarks (in the morning) as well as the cruise (in the afternoon).

Was the most amazing cruise I have ever experienced. The agent I worked with was very accommodating, took care of all that we needed, provided a private tour guide Ahmad who took extra care to provide us with special activities... I could not have asked for a better time. And the cruise staff went beyond to see that we have a pleasant cruise.

My wife and I did this trip recently and I really think the small cruise boat + private guide experience is the best way to do it. I’ve been to Egypt twice but this was the first time doing a Nile cruise + private guide for temple sightseeing. Our guide was Shaimaa Esmail and she is A+ / 100% wonderful and I would highly recommend her. Shaimaa takes her passion and devotion to ancient Egyptian history & mythology and channels it into a fantastic learning experience for her clients. This is far above mere “sightseeing” - Shaimaa has the gift of making the ancient Egyptian stories come alive on temple tours - there are SO many characters, details, and places to keep straight that a master storyteller really helps you to connect the dots and remember everything much better. Another thing the “real deal” guides do - they keep up with all the latest excavations, finds, and lectures in the Egyptology field and apply it to their work. Shaimaa seemed to have all this new information at her fingertips. Don’t forget that when you have a private guide you also have a private _driver_, and this is huge. You get picked up and dropped off in the right places and the car is comfortable (we were in a new Mitsubishi SUV). We would get dropped off right at the temple entrance and with Shaimaa’s connections we would get right into the sites - tickets etc were all arranged ahead of time so no queueing up for anything. We just walked right in, did our thing, and then would walk out and get scooped up by the driver. Felt pretty…presidential. Don’t trudge around with the tour bus groups that drop you off at the worst times in the hottest weather - that schedule will quickly exhaust you. A guide that knows the game will take you to the right temples at the right times to avoid the heat, crowds, or both. It’s honestly best either early in the morning (temp is nice) or after sunset (temple lighting is stunning). You can’t avoid the crowds or heat _all_ the time but a good guide will get you to the places you want to see with an optimized schedule, AND you can always change it on the fly if you’re tired or need some downtime (we re-arranged the schedule a few times and Shaimaa was always accommodating). The boat we were on - the Sanctuary Sun Boat IV - was excellent. What you really want in a boat is the smallest number of passengers + best service and nicest amenities. The food here was great and staff very attentive to us and very genuine. We had some dietary restrictions (my wife is vegan) and they always accommodated us. Just a great crew all around. We were very comfortable on this boat. Do: the hot air balloon ride at Hatshepsut temple/valley of the kings area. It’s amazing and the balloon is comfortable and safe (big passenger basket, the ride is so smooth with a soft landing) Don’t: horse carriage rides. My wife (who is Egyptian) requested to opt out of this due to the poor treatment of the animals and the tour company accommodated us. This is a “service” that deserves to come to an end. Bonus: see if you can find the poet Rimbaud’s graffiti at the Luxor Temple. Shaimaa knows where it is!

My family of five had a wonderful time touring and cruising with Luxor & Aswan Travel. They took great care of us the whole time, going above and beyond what I had anticipated. Our guide, Ahmed, was the best part. He was smart and funny and helped us get the most out of our trip. The tour to Abu Simbel was terrific--it's a long day, but worth it--as was the hot air balloon ride in Luxor. I felt the balance of touring and down time was just right. We saw a lot but didn't get worn out. It would have been impossible to plan as well ourselves. Our ship was comfortable and the crew was fun.

My husband and I travelled from NYC to do this cruise with the most wonderful private tour guide Shaimaa Esmail. I’ve done a similar tour a few times before on other boats, but this trip has been the best by far. More importantly, Shaimaa’s expertise as a guide makes a huge difference in the experience. Beyond her immense & deep knowledge about the history and the sites, Shaimaa takes you on a journey through Egyptian mythology and its history…she is a true storyteller as she recounts the stories behind the gods and temples built for them. She is so engaging and draws you in…. she’s also been incredibly accommodating and going above and beyond for us: putting together the best itinerary and has the know-how/connections to figure out how to beat the crowds, recommending what things to do and what tourist traps to avoid. The Sanctuary Sunboat IV cruise has been so incredibly wonderful, the rooms super clean and the staff are just incredible and polite. If you end up booking this trip during the hotter months, i suggest getting lots of sunscreen and if you can book Shaimaa as your guide, you will undoubtedly have an excellent time.

Aswan and Luxor Travel are one of several highly reviewed, locally-based travel agencies I evaluated in planning my trip to Egypt. Hany Eldosouki, the agency owner, was the only one to meet my price target for a weeklong 5-star experience in Egypt, and he was, without doubt, the most responsive in responding to my inquiries. I was delighted I decided on his services. Hany suggested an itinerary for me that covered almost everything you would want to see during a one-week visit. Of course, to see all of Egypt's treasures and sites would take many months, but this itinerary included most of the places I wanted to visit. We made a few modifications to match my existing flights, and two weeks later, I was on my way. From my meet and greet arrival into Cairo Intl by one of Hany's drivers and representatives for the transfer to my hotel ( at 3 AM ), until another a week later, Hany and his team looked after me in every way. My trip to the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum began with a meeting with a private Egyptologist, Zuzu, who explained the treasures I would be seeing. We also had a driver who stayed with us the entire time, meaning we never had to stand waiting in the blazing sun for a tour bus or taxi to arrive. Zuzu Abdeen, the Egyptologist who was to accompany me, gave me an incredible overview of the history of Egypt and its many wonders. Later that evening, my driver & Zuzu accompanied me to the airport and ensured I had a smooth check-in for the flight to Aswan. On arrival at Aswan Intl., I was greeted by my Egyptologist for the Luxor Area trips, Mr. Hassan Sayed, and our driver. They took me to the magnificent Movenpick Resort Aswan, where I was warmly greeted and enjoyed a wonderful overnight stay. Our first stop the next day was to check in to my boat, the Sunesta Sun Goddess, for a three-day Nile cruise. Hany had recommended this boat very highly, and I couldn't agree more with him. All 28 of the stylish suites have private balconies, which makes for a very peaceful and serene trip along the banks of the majestic Nile. Mr. Sayed had arranged for an afternoon's sailing on the river in a traditional Egyptian wooden boat, the felucca. That proved to be one of the most memorable afternoons I had as the gusty conditions gave us a perfect sailing opportunity for our captain to display mastery of his boat in high wind conditions. Hassan took me on tours of some of the fascinating monuments, temples, and tombs that the area is renowned for and visits to the shops of true artisans, who still make identical replicas and new pieces using the same methods as the ancient Egyptians. They come from generations of the same family who have been at the exact locations since the discovery of the first tomb was found and are direct descendants of the craftsmen working there during the reign of the Pharoh's. During my trip, the airline canceled my flight home. Hany immediately stepped in to help me, re-booking my domestic flight, assisting with my International tickets, and arranging for extra accommodation in Luxor. This travel change also allowed me to stay in the fabulous Hilton Resort and Spa, where the hospitality, luxury, and service are unmatched. The spa deservedly won Spa of the Year in Egypt last year, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit there. The change in plans also allowed me to tour one of the most spectacular sites in the country, the fabled tomb of Queen Nefertari in the Vally of the Queens. Hassan's niece, Ms. Eman Sayed, is part of the archaeology team at the site where Queen Nefertari's tomb is. She had come in on her day off to meet us and give me a personal welcome to the tomb entrance. Eman kindly invited us to her office for a refreshing cup of tea after the sweltering walk up to the tomb. She is a credit to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. Again, another memorable experience that I would not have enjoyed had it not been for Hani's excellent network of guides and partners and Hassan's deep roots in the area. Hassan taught me so much about the beautiful Egyptian culture and heritage and was an excellent Luxor companion. Zuzu is a natural teacher who makes the history of Egypt come to life through her description of the treasures. I would highly recommend that you engage the services of both Zuzu and Hassan as your guides. Hany displayed a can-do attitude and a devotion to delivering excellence in all areas of his business so that his customers can have a completely stress-free and luxurious vacation. So, all in all, I would strongly recommend that you use the services of Mr. Hany Eldosouki of Luxor and Aswan Travel. I plan to book a family tour with him later this year. I hope you enjoy your trip to a genuinely mesmerizing country filled with warm, friendly, hospitable people.
